View 1 RepliesHow could it be a SWF is not loading in internet explorer chrome on windows but works fine on firefox and safari on osx? I called the file like myhomepage.fr/videoplayer.swf
Does this direct all of swf is non supported on IE?
I've created a popup navigation menu at: [URL] In firefox and internet explorer everything works fine - the menu pops over the flash. But in Chrome, Safari and Opera the menu is behind the flash.
View 1 RepliesI produced a website a year ago now, and up until now it has been working fine. My client brought to my attention today that there are suddenly problems when viewing the site in chrome, IE and safari. You cannot get past the landing page as the 'enter' button is not there despit the graphics being in the right place.I have updated to flash player 10.1, and opened, published and uploaded the flash file in a newer version of flash to see whether that helped, but no go.
AS3 on 1st frame:
Code:
stop();
addEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME, loaderFF);
function loaderFF(e:Event):void{

I had designed and setup a flash website for a client a while ago and just recently they emailed me saying their website doesn't work in Google Chrome or Safari. I have SWF Object 2 on the website and that doesn't seem to help. The flash component of the website doesn't show up at all yet works fine in IE and FF. What could be the issue here?
View 2 RepliesI am designing a fairly simple site made up of a swf (AS3) in an html page. I'm relatively new to it all, but was doing ok until recently! The problem I have is this: The swf within the html loads perfectly from my local drive in all browsers, but when published to the remote server does not display correctly in Safari or Chrome... It is fine in Firefox.
To see it correctly, use Firefox and the link below. To see it fail at the preloader (in fact, it distorts the design of the pre-loader and goes no further) use Chrome or Safari. [URL] The site is unfinished, so there are other issues you may find which I am solving, but this is the one of concern.
I am looking for a 3D object viewer for my website.
Requirements:
Files: .stl,.wrl, *.3ds *.vrml, *.obj, *.ply, *.skp
display: models in color and non color
Unit of Measure: Meters, Centimeter, Millimeters, Inch
Volume: 3D object viewer has to calculate the orginal size of the model
Rotation&zoom: user can rotate/zoom with mouse and rotate/zoom by clicking buttons
Browser: IE& Firefox
the following page should include two FLV files - one near the top of the page and one near the bottom.
[URL]
Works properly in IE8 and Firefox 3.5.5 - however in the latest Chrome and Safari only the topmost FLV displays. FLV embedded with Dreamweaver CS4.

I'm working on a masthead for a site, which uses the simple getURL command to load a page on the same site, code is:
on (release) {
getURL("link.html", "_top");
}
Now, this works fine in all browser with JS enabled, but when JS is disabled in Chrome and Safari it does nothing. Strangely enough, if the target is "_blank" it works.I've tried all 4 different targets, as well as using a variable to hold the link.
when I layer an swf over html, with all the good stuff in place (wmode = transparent, z-index), I can't access the html elements in Firefox/Chrome/Safari. Here's a link to a test [URL] This is a stripped down version; I've also tried using swfobject.
View 1 RepliesI need to use full screen mode in my flash application, for some reason when i go into full screen mode in safari or chrome, the stage is completely disabled. I tried using a very clean swf file with nothing on it, just 2 buttons: one for full screen and the other for normal screen, and still i can't click on anything after going into full mode. In IE and FF everything works fine
View 1 RepliesIf been trying to refurbish my website using solely OSMF but, the sound part gives problems in various browsers. It works in IE6 and FireFox but, it doesnt in Chrome and Safari. Does anyone know what is happening and what their differences are when it comes to file loading?[URL]check it for yourself clicking the buttons in various browsers the Flash button uses native flash sound libs the OSMF button the OSMF implementation.

I'm hitting a brick wall here, and it's driving me mad. Used to use ExternalInterface to call Flash functions from Javascript all the time, and now under CS5 (and the way it uses object id's instead of embed in html) it's stopped working for me in certain browsers. I put together a really simple program that has the person click a link in the browser that activates a javascript function that simply sends some text in to Flash to display in a TextArea. Here's the as3 code:
[Code]....
On this page there is a login form at the bottom left.
1) Type some text in the username field.
2) Drag-Select this text (from right to left) so that it is highlighted - but DO NOT release the mouse over the swf - keep dragging off of the swf (to the left of the text field).
3) Now move your mouse across the swf and back out to the left again...and you will see that the swf thinks you have never released the mouse.
It seems obvious that a swf running in Firefox or Safari is not detecting "onRelease" events outside of the swf (while IE Does this just fine).My only thought is to capture onRelease events from js and pass into the swf...but jeez - what a pain for something so simple....for something that should just work.
In Flash user can give permission to localhost and even local html file to access remote webservice.I fail to see the same thing for Silverlight which is a nightmare for testing on local pc.
View 1 Repliesi need a webpage (host on my website) that can play the following mp4 file either via silverlight 4 or flash[URL]..i tried various solution like flowplayer and silverlight but none of them work with the URL above. I can play the file fine using Windows media player or VLC.
For silverlight, i always get AG_E_NETWORK_ERROR exception within MediaFailed event. For flash, via flowplayer, IE page is just blank
Can someone tell me what am i missing? i am very frustrated as I have finished encoding, upload, cataloging my videos and now I am stuck at the last step.
I found Vectorlight which is quite good, but are there any tutorials or books about doing cool effects with silverlight. I'm after for resources focused more for a designing and presentation. Mostly the books about Silverlight is focused on doing boring business applications like making grids and forms.

View 1 Repliesis it possible to let clicks on a HTML element that's overlaying a Flash or Silverlight object bubble through to the Flash / Silverlight object? I've been experimenting with this, but i can't figure out if it is even possible because of possible security restrictions to prevent clickjacking.I don't have access to the source code to the FL / SL object, so i can't implement an ExternalInterface or something like that.

View 1 RepliesI've built a form, and next to my form element I've placed a flash object. When the page is loaded, the form is display: block, and the flash object is display: none.
The layout looks something like (the img is there so that if the user doesn't have flash, the gif animation will play instead):

I have a flash object embedded in my website with the embed code that I got from a website. It does not show up in Safari, it's just a blank area where the flash object is supposed to be. What can I do to get the object to show up in Safari?
Here is the embedded code:
<object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=9,0,0,0" height="250" width="258" id="sn_player" align="middle">
<param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" />
<param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always" />

I have a weird problem with Safari 5.0 and Flash player 10.1. When I resize the flash html object via ExternalInterface and JavaScript flash will jump down the page a little bit for a fraction of a second. Here is an example: [URL]. This may not be a flash question at all. It may be a CSS or JavaScript problem. It seems to only be a problem with Safari 5 and Flash 10.1.
You can view the source of the html page. Here is the code inside the sample FLA:
one.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, oneClick);
one.buttonMode = true;
two.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, twoClick);
two.buttonMode = true;
this.addEventListener(Event.ADDED_TO_STAGE, addedToStage);

I have tried many different emethods of embedding the .swf object in the website I am currently working on. I have use the code from the publish option which didn't work at all.I also tried the SWFObject javascript thing, and that worked, but It wouldn't auto play and there wasn't anyway to set it. So far all the code I have tried works in Opera 9/10 and IE7/8, but not in firefox or chrome.[code]

View 1 RepliesSo, Since years the site ( Its a kind of CMS ) Just worked Fine, but about 3 days ago all the flash's object's in the Whole Site are with 300px X 150px. But it just happens in Google Chrome, in all other Browsers it just Work's fine!
How it would be fixed? Take a look at the code of the object:
<object >
<param name='wmode' value='transparent' />
<param name='movie' value='topo.swf'/>
[Code].....
I have a simple HTML file which embeds a Flash file. On the page styling I have a #flashContent with width:100% and height:100%; the Flash object itself has width="100%" and height=100% and is inside a div with id="flashContent". The idea is to make the Flash object (which is a game) to fill the whole browser window even as it resizes.
This works with no problems on IE and Firefox, but there is a small problem on Chrome. About 90% of the time when the page first loads all that is shown is black (the page's background color). The game only appears if the user resizes the window; from then on out it works correctly.
I'd like to ask if there is anything I am doing wrong or if there is an workaround to ensure the Flash game appears correctly on the Chrome browser.
I'm just trying to understand a difference between IE, Chrome and Firefox. I have the following code on a page:
$('object').live('click', function(){
alert('Fired');
});
I then populate the page with some Flash controls (in my case, I'm using Uploadify). When I click on the Flash control, I see the alert in Firefox 4. However, I do not see the alert in IE8 or Chrome (I havent tested any other browsers).
Very strange. I'm using the following function to pass characters to 2 text input components, but sometimes (and much more often with the "Password" field), after I click a button, the button loses focus and I have to move the mouse to regain the rollover state and be able to click the button again. When I've lost focus, if I click the mouse, it just changes the button to the rollover state but doesn't pass the value...
Here's the code:
var Focus:String = "";
function KeyPadButtonClick(_id:Number) {
// default the focus to the UserID
if (this.Focus == "") {
this.Focus = "UserID";
[Code] .....
