Apr 5, 2012
How could it be a SWF is not loading in internet explorer chrome on windows but works fine on firefox and safari on osx? I called the file like myhomepage.fr/videoplayer.swf
Does this direct all of swf is non supported on IE?
I'm wondering if there's an easy way to disable flash in Internet Explorer for testing purposes:I'm writing a script that tests for flash (based off the information at this link - https:[url]....) and I'm hoping there is an easier way to test this than uninstalling flash.
I have a flash-based ad that displays/hides based on some javascript. It works in Firefox, Safari, Chrome ... but not in Internet Explorer 8. This is for donations to a non-profit during the holiday season,
I've embed a magazine through a WP plugin (a flash viewer basically) and it doesn't work properly on Chrome and IE9 (drop-down menu elements are covered by the viewer). The page is: pastoraluc.cl/dialogos.Here and here I found some tips to improve flash behaviour through CSS (z-index and position) and flash wmode option, but CSS didn't work to me and I can't modify flash options in the WP plugin provided by Issuu.
I though in changing the platform to a common HTML object tag inside a div, but in that way the magazine is too different of what I need.
The screen reader (JAWS) is able to read the textfield in flash on Google's Chrome but not in Internet Explorer 8. I'm using the latest version of swfobject.
There frequently tend to be posts "My SWF works in FireFox but not Internet Explorer! I'm wondering, is there REALLY ever any truth to these and not just silly mistakes? Is there any real difference between the Flash Player in Internet Explorer and FireFox?
Aren't they the same, and all the browser is doing is relaying those commands to the library/executable already on the computer? The reason I'm guessing this is because when you install Flash Player, it works for all installed browsers, and you don't have to install it to specific browsers, right? Or?
I am building a video player web-app that uses flash for playback and jquery/javascript for UI. By design of the person who wrote the flash component I need to use setVariable to communicate between the javascript and the flash player. I've read all over the internet that a lot of people have had problems gettin setVariable to work in FireFox. I designed my app in firefox because i wanted to use firebug to help me in development. Now that the whole thing has been built, i find that setVariable is not working in IE. The error i get is:Object doesn't support property or method 'SetVariable';Here's a bit of the pertinent code:I construct my html through javascript, so this is how I construct the player:
var player = '<object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=9,0,16
I created the page in FLEX, but i have problem with scroller (the page content) and the bottom status bar from IE/firefox. They are easily overlapping each other (with statusbar in the front - hiding the content of the page) - is there any way to read the height of these elements regardles of the browser (to change 'paddingbottom' accordingly ) ? (I know that disabling them is prohibited from security reasons).
when I layer an swf over html, with all the good stuff in place (wmode = transparent, z-index), I can't access the html elements in Firefox/Chrome/Safari. Here's a link to a test [URL] This is a stripped down version; I've also tried using swfobject.
I have a html paga which loads a flash(flex) swf file. Using https it loads successfully with Chrome, Safari and Firefox, but not with Internet Explorer.Another page, a simple aspx page, does load in Internet Explorer using https (and no flash in it).Haven't found anything so far on the internet to solve this... Anyone?UPDATE: When I right click on the white screen, 'About Adobe Flash Player 10...' appears... so Flash is loaded. Also, in Charles (http sniffer tool) I can see that the swf is loaded over the network.
So, apparently, Flash Player is running inside my html page, the swf is loaded over the internet but the swf is not displayed in internet explorer browser... Very strange. How can I debug this further to see what the problem is?Meanwhile, in the left down corner, IE keeps on saying: 'Waiting for https://....In all other browsers it works like a charm.You can see that IE shows a Certificate Error, but that's also the case in other browsers. I already clicked on Certificate Error to install the Certificate, but with no success.
If been trying to refurbish my website using solely OSMF but, the sound part gives problems in various browsers. It works in IE6 and FireFox but, it doesnt in Chrome and Safari. Does anyone know what is happening and what their differences are when it comes to file loading?[URL]check it for yourself clicking the buttons in various browsers the Flash button uses native flash sound libs the OSMF button the OSMF implementation.
I have this error in internet explorer when it's loading the swf from cache "ArgumentError: Error #2015: Invalid BitmapData. at flash.display::BitmapData()"
I load images from an XML file and sometimes everything would load up just fine, but there are times when flash would stop loading in the middle of my my list...
[URL]
On firefox, all items usually would load up all the time but there are occassions where it would only load 3 out of 8 or some anywhere before it's suppose to finish. If you keep hitting refresh on the link i posted, you'll see. its even worse on safari since it would seldom load the whole thing... never had a problem with IE though.
here is the code im working on
Code: var productHolder:MovieClip = productHolder_mc; var bannerHolder:MovieClip = bannerHolder_mc; var paginationHolder:MovieClip = paginationHolder_mc; var whatIsaLoading:String = "";
I need some help? Anyone experience this problem before with IE8 FLASH bug? Can not get this to work on all subsequent refresh to the flash. I have a flash piece which simply renders only on the first initial load. After that, if i refresh or visit the page, it does not load correctly. It seems I am having this problem with the swf only on subsequent loading of the page or whenever a refresh happens.
I have run into a problem with the URLLoader that I havent encountered before. I have reviewed my code several times and maybe I am missing something.
Basically, I have a separate loader class that I want to communicate to a php file located in the same directory. That php file forms an xml markup within and returns the location of a background image from the database. As you can see from the code, I have event listeners for progress, loaded, and IOerror.
This works fine in IE and Chrome. However in FF and Opera, my custom progress bar shows 100%, but the info bar shows "IO Error" (which is kind of a visible trace statement on the swf for informational purposes) and it does not go anywhere.
Test FrameRate in combination of browsers,flash plugin versions on Win32
Expect:
Framerate to be close in most cases
Observed:
I am seeing a 25% decrease in framerate under IE7 using Flash10b.ocx(10.0.22) and 50% decrease in framerate using Flash10c.ocx(10.0.32). PLugins under FireFox, Safari and in Mac OSX don't exhibit the same slowdown.
I would like to get help/confirmation on a performance problem that I see in Internet Explorer. The Adobe and Flash community is great on the Internet but I have been surprised to see no information on this, just a few reports about movie playback on 10.0.32 vs. 10.0.22.
My guess is that in IE flash plugin is passing draw calls to Win32 and that this is slow.
Instead of drawing each time on the bitmap using draw, cache the draw calls to a bitmap and use CopyPixels. When I do this the performance is the same across browsers, within 10%.
I have a website with a Flash banner. This has worked fine in all major browsers (IE7/8,Firefox, Chrome, Safari, Opera) for some time, but when I upgraded to IE9, the banner is displayed with a 1 pixel shim on the right-hand edge, which is throwing the layout off.know past versions of IE would display line breaks as white space and I wonder if that's what's going on here. I'm using the AC_FL_RunContent() function to display the Flash file.I'm not sure where to look to debug this, but I'd like to fix it sooner rather than later
i am accessing flash content in IE.I am getting this error all the time.Error - Alternate HTML content should be placed here. This content requires the Adobe Flash Player. Get Flash
I've created a popup navigation menu at: [URL] In firefox and internet explorer everything works fine - the menu pops over the flash. But in Chrome, Safari and Opera the menu is behind the flash.
I produced a website a year ago now, and up until now it has been working fine. My client brought to my attention today that there are suddenly problems when viewing the site in chrome, IE and safari. You cannot get past the landing page as the 'enter' button is not there despit the graphics being in the right place.I have updated to flash player 10.1, and opened, published and uploaded the flash file in a newer version of flash to see whether that helped, but no go.
AS3 on 1st frame:
Code: stop(); addEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME, loaderFF); function loaderFF(e:Event):void{
I had designed and setup a flash website for a client a while ago and just recently they emailed me saying their website doesn't work in Google Chrome or Safari. I have SWF Object 2 on the website and that doesn't seem to help. The flash component of the website doesn't show up at all yet works fine in IE and FF. What could be the issue here?
I have been asked to get a website up and running. It is a Flash site, which works fine in Firefox and Safari, but its just a white screen in IE. Does anyone know why?the website isand the scrip is : -
<head> <script> if ((navigator.userAgent.indexOf('iPhone') != -1) ||
[url]...Two flash files on the extreme right side, that is above the text THE SPORTS CLINIC and CENTRE FOR JOINT REPLACEMENTS runs fine with almost all browsers, except for internet explorer. I have tried everything, but it simply doesn't run over internet explorer.
as you all know that if we use flash object in web page in internet explorer Internet Explorer displays a box around Flash content and show a tooltip telling the user to click to activate the content. i am using fixit it work fine but problem is once page loaded completely.
