[URL] When you click on the design button, the gallery doesn't work. The thumbnails come up, but when you click on them there's should be a full sized image at the top.
View 3 RepliesI have decided to attempt making my sisters website. I have used an XML gallery in the website and all works well when viewing the website just in flash, .fla or the .swf file. My problem is, when i come to put it into dreamweaver ready to upload and I preview it in Firefox, or any other broswer, all the pages work but no the XML gallery? Im gettin very stressed out now as all my file routesetc are correct?I have googled the problem and all I have found out is that it could be something to do with security?Does anybody know how to resolve this problem

View 1 RepliesI have Flash CS5.5 I just uploaded an swf with a few button instances I got the msg that I needed to update my Flash player so I did. After that when I went to test the swf I get no button cursors on any buttons in the swf. The buttons work when I press on them but there is no cursor. If I publish the file locally the cursors are there, I made a few different fla's with test buttons to make sure and they all do the same thing. The publishing settings are set for 10.2 , this seems to have happened once I got the new Flash player 11.3.

View 1 Repliesi have coded my first xml gallery, it loads jpgs and swf files.the swf files have each a video component on stage that controls the related FLV file.Testing the gallery locally I had no problem at all, but when uploaded to the server the jpgs works fine while the swf files (containing the videos) keep trhowing this error:
VideoError: 1000: Unable to make connection to server or to find FLV on server

I've made a gallery slideshow before but wasn't as intuitive looking back at it now and I want to start fresh on this new project. I would like to convert a jQuery lightbox style gallery into a flash XML based AS3 image gallery with categories. I don't want to code the FLA, I want separate AS files.
This is a school project for my website. I would use jQuery and I have more experience with it but this project needs a flash component. I'm just not sure where to start and looking for some advice on how and where I could find resources. I want it to be minimal as I can make it;
- 8 thumbnails to a "page/section" with more flowed into page 2 or 3 etc. (or a srcoller)
- a few buttons for categories
- images fading in full size with a description when hovered over and a close button
- preloader (simple bar)
Esentially something like this > http:[url].........works which is using http:[url].... for the thumbnails. That might be ambitious but I'd suffice with a simple fade effect.I've downloaded some galleries out there but most of the code is messy or outdated.http:[url]... this is alright, but all the code is done in the FLA. I might break it into AS files but it depends.

i have FMS Installed And after its installed i also Install The Addon Auth to make a username and password so no one else can just start a Stream but after i install it and restart the server it wont work any the fms does work but the addon doesn't.

first off im confused in each edge server i set them to be remote, rtmp and changed the routeentry to <RouteEntry>*:*;96.44.***.***:1935</RouteEntry> on both servers
orgin server is just local
what my question is im streaming to orgin and its getting sent to 1 edge and other edge is doing nothing no traffic the stream i set it this way url:
'rtmp://173.254.***.***/live/live_test',
which is the 1 edge thats working if i setup another channel pointing to the other edge server ip adresss it doesnt work.. what am i doing wrong isnt all this supposed to be load balanced or am i missing steps...or did i do it wrong on the flash player config.

How can I load both swf and image files into my gallery?
i got an image gallery that reads data from an xml file. this xml formatted data is from a php file. when i open the gallery it loads the 1st image; when i click next it loads the 2nd and so forth... but as soon as it has loaded all the images once, it gets stuck. i dont know what to do. when i had the gallery read directly from an .xml file things were working fine but as soon as it was data from a php file that was xml formatted this problem started to occur.
View 1 RepliesI'm trying to create a flash photography website. I have four navigation buttons on the main page. Home, portfolio, features and contact. The feature section has more navigation buttons that should take me to individual galleries. So now i can navigate to the features section, but cant go to any specific gallery. I wrote an addEventListener code for the sub gallery buttons, but i'm getting the error "1120:access of undefined property stilllife". Still life is one of the buttons in the sub gallery. I'm getting the same error for all the buttons in the sub gallery. I've given an instance name for all the buttons so i dont know what the error means. I even tried calling a different funtion. when i test the movie, the whole thing keeps playing in a loop. ? I can paste the code here if anybody wants to look into it.

The gallery works perfectly on my local PC, but when i try to upload the website to ftp so I can put it online, the gallery shows completely wrong, in fact only one picture is visible. The AS code for the gallery is written in one movie clip with the instance name gall, and this movie clip is located in the actual page of the gallery, the one with the animation. I don't know if that's relevant, but i thought i should mention.I have attached a pic of what the right gallery looks like on my PC

View 3 RepliesI'm having a hard time getting my global variable to work with my xml gallery. I have a button which has the url of the xml file I want to load, so when I press the button the gallery will display the xml file I chose. Here's my button code:

I wrote a bit of actionscript to dynamically create an image gallery based on how many images are in a given directory. As of now, I've got it to display thumbnails in rows. My next step would be to get these thumbnails to link to the fullsize images.

So as of right now, I have a rough-looking set of thumbnails that don't function as links. is there any way to make those thumbnails act as links, using only actionscript? or, is there any better(easier) way to create a dynamic image gallery with flash so that my client will never have to open an .fla file to add more images?
I create one image gallery. But it doesn't work properly.That means i want to play like slide show with using setInterval method.Once first image loaded and second image if load i want some time to display for ex:2min waiting. View 1 RepliesThis is a situation: i have a index.swf in which i have holder movieclip in which i load gallery.swf (where i load pictures in it's holder mc). The thing is i used _root in gallery.swf so when i publish it separately it works, but it doesn't work within index.swf. I suppose there is a scope problem where _root adresses _root timeline of index.swf instead of gallery.swf when index.swf is published and gallery.swf loaded inside. I tried to solve this by putting: Code: this._lockroot=true; inside of gallery.swf but now my Flash 8 player just freezes when index.swf is published and gallery.swf loaded into it but i have no idea why? What would be other solution for this problem?
View 3 RepliesI built my gallery and import it a parent page (foo)... Sometimes the scroll of thumbnail scroll works... it is choppy.... Sometimes does not work at all.... When I view the movie outside of foo - it works beautifully...
View 2 RepliesI'm working on my website which is a portfolio site, to showcase my work I have a basic XML image gallery which does 1 of 3 things loads a large photo, goes to a frame with a video player, or goes to another frame with a gallery of web design or flash work i've done. when a thumb is clicked i trace the indexOf(event.target) of the thumbnail clicked (all thumbnails are placed into an array).
the problem is that for some reason randomly the index will not be found and return -1, but then other times it will find the correct index and work properly. i don't know what the inconstancy is thats causing this to occur

i made a pic gallery that loads pics from xml file.. when I open the gallerys .swf itself on my server it works fine.. when I open the website .swf file on my server it looks fine... but, when I open the flash-generated .html file and try to open my gallery on my web site it sometimes shows me only a couple of pictures... sometimes none. also, when I open it up on my computer, it works fine...

I'm relatively new to Flash and AS3. I've created a website thats a dynamic photo gallery. The site is self-contained (no scrolbars) and I want the frame work of the gallery to draw itself in as the page loads. The frame work is just simple lines and drawing objects on the maintimeline. Do i combine the lines (the "frame work") into a mc and then somehow use the deco tool? How can I acheive this in action script?
View 3 RepliesI want to say that the code I am working with is the same found here: [URL] The code is working perfectly (pictures are displaying) when opening the file, work_diesel.swf by itself. However, my problems occur when I open default.swf, and then navigating to the section work. From there I hit advertising, and in that section DIESEL. HERE is where the problem is visible. The pictures are not loading AT ALL when doing it this way (the correct and final way).
I am just wondering if anyone can pin point the problem for me so I can change it. It must be said that the work_diesel.swf is loading from an external source into default.swf.
I have a website [URL] there is a flash gallery, every time I have to clear magento cache and browser cache to display my new images but now I've made few changes in swf file that before the smaller bars are not left aligned now there are both. In my local system the new swf file shows exact number of images in the smaller bars but in server they are not showing in full numbers.
I don't know what to do as I've cleared every cache that I can. I've read some where that put version number in your swf file so that brower can check if its new then it will download new but in magento how to do that. As the swf file contents are in cms pages home page content and they have done as :
