i have FMS Installed And after its installed i also Install The Addon Auth to make a username and password so no one else can just start a Stream but after i install it and restart the server it wont work any the fms does work but the addon doesn't.
View 1 RepliesI've now had two occurances of SWFVerification not enabling itself when the values are added to the application.xml for a client app.We've enabled it with an empty dir and any player will still get through.I tried to add a "not-really-the-player.swf" to confirm that it will reject all other connections, and they still get through.I've tried reloading the Application, and that also has had no effect.In a previous instance, only after the VHost is restarted, will SWFVerification start to work.This presents a rather large issue for us - as we host 100s of other client application connections on multiple boxes that do SWFverification, so it's not simple to just "reboot" these boxes.
View 1 RepliesI'm doing a test install before we update our old server to 4.03.I've got the server software installed and configured (4.03 server, using iis for web).All the test stuff on the sample index page works, except for the dynamic stream tab.I've eyeballed the .f4m file, and tried putting in a complete url to the samples...but no luck.i just keep getting the stock connection timed out message.
Where do i need to look to start confiriming where this issue may be coming from?I've made made sure I can reach all the test videos by making flash players for them, calling them via rtmp... no problems.It's got to be something dumb with either the f4m file, or the way it's being served (btw, i have added all the mime types to iis , including .f4m as video/mp4....which is one of two ways I've seen it added).

I know that we are an entire version behind the current, but this is due to problems with a failed upgrade due to a bug in FMS with streaming our (3TB) collection of .mp4's with the new version... that being said, onto our current trouble...

I set the sharedobject using code above,now I can publish video,but so is not set(from admin console, "shared object" tab).
The FMS_auth_addin_win_v3.msi insists to put the files into C:Program Files (x86)AdobeFlash Media Server 4conf but the server is installed in C:Program FilesAdobeFlash Media Server 4. I nuked all the Abobe content in the 32 bit area, but it keeps re-installing it there. The server used to run 32-bit FMS 3.5, but since we upgraded, I can't get the authentication addin to work. Can I just copy the thing over?
View 11 RepliesI attempted to Install FMS 4.5 with all its modules by installing apache seperately from the FMS installer on Linux However the installation notes do not specify how or where to get the information on how to install all the FMS 4.5 functionality such as HLS to Apple/IOS. But this is the part that messes me up if I install YOUR version of apache then it is supported. Now correct me if I'm wrong because this was the case the last time I tried to install your version of apache. Last time I installed your bundled version of apache and then attempted to install PHP for apache with the modules GD,php_mysql and it didn't work. I attempted to make it work for days. So please tell me how do I install PHP,PHP_GD and PHP_MySql on your bundled version of apache? Also How do I install FMS 4.5 including HLS for Apache on Linux/ Windows that is not bundled or for Microsoft IIS ?
View 13 RepliesWe have a custom application that is running on FMS. Server is dedicated just for fms, there is only one application running on the server, with more instances, average traffic is 3-15 simultaneous users.The problem is,server suddenly stops accepting connections (after 1-3 days from restart), from this point it is impossible to connect to any instance, and fms server must be restarted.When the server crashes, the admin console can see all open instances, can close instances, can restart fms. There is nothing logged, that would explain this sudden failure.Second problem is, cores are connected and disconnected too often, causing client to reconnect (takes 2-5 seconds).
Hardware: 4 x quadcore Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E7440 @ 2.40GHz, 32 GB ram
OS: CentOS release 5.3 (Final), kernel: 2.6.18-128.4.1.el5

i have a orgin server and 2 edge servers and a load balancer
first off im confused in each edge server i set them to be remote, rtmp and changed the routeentry to <RouteEntry>*:*;96.44.***.***:1935</RouteEntry> on both servers
orgin server is just local
what my question is im streaming to orgin and its getting sent to 1 edge and other edge is doing nothing no traffic the stream i set it this way url:
'rtmp://173.254.***.***/live/live_test',
which is the 1 edge thats working if i setup another channel pointing to the other edge server ip adresss it doesnt work.. what am i doing wrong isnt all this supposed to be load balanced or am i missing steps...or did i do it wrong on the flash player config.
We're in process of trying to purchase a new server. Our server unit wanted to provide a VM instance, which I told them would not work (according to the documentation). So, their next suggestion is to provide a blade server. Is this an acceptable configuration (assuming they meet recommended CPU/RAM requirements) to install FMS?

View 1 RepliesI came across a very strange issue. There was a session in which no fso has been recorded. It was a session of around 110min with more then 10 users as per the logs. Flv have been recorded for the session and I can see the chat text file which has been written from server side script but no fso has been recorded for the whole session. While cross checking the logs access log and Master log i saw that the last message recorded on that particular session was around 14:47 and in master log i see following lines:

I'm attempting to install and run FMS on a Red Hat Enterprise Linux system. At one point, it did function properly, but now it will not stream video at all, and I keep getting a constant stream of errors. No changes were made to the FMS configuration to make it stop working. Attempting to load it in console mode results in the following:

Might be a dumb question but a client has Windows 2003 Enterprise SP2 R2 and I was wondering if Flash Media Interactive Server will install and run fine on it? The requirements on the site say Microsoft® Windows Server® 2003 with Service Pack 2 but no about "Standard" or "Enterprise".

The server was running windows media services, shoutcast and IIS6 I have killed all these services and am just running FMS so as far as i know port 80 is not in use I can connect the encoder using this address rtmpt://xx.xx.xx.xx:1935/live Does anyone know why i cant just use rtmp://
also if i load the interactive tab on the index page in the webroot, I can connect and i can view the stream but no matter what code i use to embed the player, they all fail to connect yet i can view the stream on the interactive tab.

So can anyone helps me about comparing this two versions: Flash Media Streaming Server and Flash Media Interactive server, like if I use Flash Media Streaming Server, some function like NetStream.pause() may not work or something like that? I'm not sure if this is a foolish question but please let me know.
View 3 RepliesThe company I work for installed FMS on a server running Centos for a customer who needed streaming media capabilities. It worked fine for 3 months until today the customer called us and informed us that their client program can no longer connect to the streaming media server. No one has done anything to the server to cause this to happen. When attempting to access the admin console to diagnose the program, the streaming server returned a 500 Internal Server Error. So I tried another page. Same result. Reboots of both the hardware server and the FMS have changed nothing.

View 2 RepliesI'm trying to troubleshoot a Flash Media Server working with a little video playback application I wrote a few years ago that has suddenly stopped working.I'm using CS3/Actionscript 3.My app uses the FLVPlayback Component, and was working well last time I checked. I recevied a report that the videos stopped working, and have been looking into it.I figured I'd add a bunch of event listeners to the FLVPlayback's ncMgr.netConnection so I could get debug info on things like io errors, net status, etc.The problem I'm running into is that the netConnection is null when I set it to anything on my Flash Media Server, and adding any event listeners to this netConnection throws errors.Here's what I've tried so far:
Playback of a local FLV file works fine.In the FLVPlayback documentation, I found an example and stole the URL of the stream they were using in the example, and that works fine, although it is an HTTP protocol stream rather than RTMP.Any attempt to access FLV files on my Media Server, which has worked fine in the past, basically cause the FLVPlayback object to sit and hang in "buffering" mode and never progresses beyond this point.The netConnection object in this case is null.Here's my code:[code]........
Again the purpose of this is to troubleshoot the video streaming from the Flash Media Server, and it seems like there is no netconnection to the server being created.Does this mean that the server is not working, or is there a problem with the way I'm trying to access the content on the server?This was all working fine before, and I have set up the server-side application .ASC files and such to allow things to work fine on the server end.
