Media Server :: Install Fms 4 In Windows 7 And Access From A Webserver In Different Domain
Sep 1, 2011
I have installed fms 4 in windows 7 in my computer, but i cant get it work with a flex application that i have in a server. I added the port in my router's settings
i purchased and installed FMS on my dedicated webserver from my hosting provider. I have all my sites on this server. now that ive done this what do i do next? I want to play VOD to site visitors. i tried copying and pasting code in my dreamweaver file but i get black box. I can play the live stream sample files on my dedicated server
i want to make some test in flash media server and i want to install it in windows 7.in the past i can install it an work with it with no problem, now i try to install it and dont work.
The installation of FMS 3.5.1 r516 Development fatally failed on our Windows 2008 R2 Server. We tried an R1 server and that one installed with no issues. It gets past the MS C++ installer, then shortly after:
Might be a dumb question but a client has Windows 2003 Enterprise SP2 R2 and I was wondering if Flash Media Interactive Server will install and run fine on it? The requirements on the site say Microsoft® Windows Server® 2003 with Service Pack 2 but no about "Standard" or "Enterprise".
We are running FMS3 on Windows 2003 Server. Videos stream and play fine when inside our domain, but outside the domain the videos take anywhere from 20 or more seconds before playing.
After analizing the connections it was determined that the player is randomly trying to access ports until it gets to the one that works, but this is ONLY happening from people trying to view videos from outside our domain.
I have installed FMS 3.5 on a Linux root server with openSUSE 10.3 without included Apache 2.2. That is why the webserver is already installed and running. Now I should know next steps to configure both FMS and Apache to make it work for streaming recorded .flv files via HTTP and the VOD application. Starting Apache manually after FMS server is running always ends up in failure and error message: 'Address already in use. Could not bind to address [::]:80. If I start Apache first and then FMS server everything is running. But I guess this is not correct because the manual mentioned first starting FMS server.
I tried some applications like vod and live with localhost. Now I'm trying to use some applications on my site. It's the first thing you need to do, but apparently it's so basic that I can't find information about it.Can someone explain me how to change the "localhost" to a webserver? In other words, how do I set up an application like vod on my site?
I have a problem with our FMSI3.5. A few times now we have experienced problems with the administration console/fms webserver. They become unavailable. When someone tries to connect to the administration console or tries to download a file from the FMS webroot the connection fails (times out). Streaming still works when that happens.
A FMS restart fixes the problem. Logs say something but can't really see what is wrong.
I'm doing a test install before we update our old server to 4.03.I've got the server software installed and configured (4.03 server, using iis for web). All the test stuff on the sample index page works, except for the dynamic stream tab.I've eyeballed the .f4m file, and tried putting in a complete url to the samples...but no luck.i just keep getting the stock connection timed out message.
Where do i need to look to start confiriming where this issue may be coming from?I've made made sure I can reach all the test videos by making flash players for them, calling them via rtmp... no problems. It's got to be something dumb with either the f4m file, or the way it's being served (btw, i have added all the mime types to iis , including .f4m as video/mp4....which is one of two ways I've seen it added).
i have FMS Installed And after its installed i also Install The Addon Auth to make a username and password so no one else can just start a Stream but after i install it and restart the server it wont work any the fms does work but the addon doesn't.
I created a video live recorder and its working fine locally. Now I want to add the video recorder to my website. What is the steps to add this in my website? Whether I need to buy and install FMS in my server?
The FMS_auth_addin_win_v3.msi insists to put the files into C:Program Files (x86)AdobeFlash Media Server 4conf but the server is installed in C:Program FilesAdobeFlash Media Server 4. I nuked all the Abobe content in the 32 bit area, but it keeps re-installing it there. The server used to run 32-bit FMS 3.5, but since we upgraded, I can't get the authentication addin to work. Can I just copy the thing over?
I attempted to Install FMS 4.5 with all its modules by installing apache seperately from the FMS installer on Linux However the installation notes do not specify how or where to get the information on how to install all the FMS 4.5 functionality such as HLS to Apple/IOS. But this is the part that messes me up if I install YOUR version of apache then it is supported. Now correct me if I'm wrong because this was the case the last time I tried to install your version of apache. Last time I installed your bundled version of apache and then attempted to install PHP for apache with the modules GD,php_mysql and it didn't work. I attempted to make it work for days. So please tell me how do I install PHP,PHP_GD and PHP_MySql on your bundled version of apache? Also How do I install FMS 4.5 including HLS for Apache on Linux/ Windows that is not bundled or for Microsoft IIS ?
We're in process of trying to purchase a new server. Our server unit wanted to provide a VM instance, which I told them would not work (according to the documentation). So, their next suggestion is to provide a blade server. Is this an acceptable configuration (assuming they meet recommended CPU/RAM requirements) to install FMS?
Beside Flash Media Encoder, can I use a live stream from Windows Media Services? We have live streaming with Windows Media Server, but now want also offer to mobile devices, but we dont re-encode the entire streams (tvs) again, it would be great if we can use a stream from windows to tunnel it to flash media server.
I'm attempting to install and run FMS on a Red Hat Enterprise Linux system. At one point, it did function properly, but now it will not stream video at all, and I keep getting a constant stream of errors. No changes were made to the FMS configuration to make it stop working. Attempting to load it in console mode results in the following:
it doesn't matter which operating system we install an our server. What are your experience with Linux and Windows?Which System do you recommend regarding performance issues?
I have made an application for chatting using FMS and struts2. I have internet connection with some proxy settings and under domain name. I have deplyed my application on local server having Live IP. I want to access chat application from an organisation having some proxy settings using live IP giving in address bar. I'm able to view my web page but not able to connect with FMS. but when I'm trying to connect same application using independent inter connection(without any proxy setting) then I'm able to access FMS. reply ASAP.
Does is matter what HTTP server I use?In the process of upgrading from FMS 3.0 on Windows using IIS 5 to FMS 4.0. Will dynamic HTTP Streaming work from a Windows server?
I have installed FMS on windows2003 std on a dedicated server. The server was running windows media services, shoutcast and IIS6 I have killed all these services and am just running FMS so as far as i know port 80 is not in use I can connect the encoder using this address rtmpt://xx.xx.xx.xx:1935/live Does anyone know why i cant just use rtmp://
also if i load the interactive tab on the index page in the webroot, I can connect and i can view the stream but no matter what code i use to embed the player, they all fail to connect yet i can view the stream on the interactive tab.
So I have a LAMP stack on a virtual server and would like to install FMS without using the apache that comes with FMS - I would rather just keep on using the currently installed LAMP-stack - is there a tutorial or documentation on how to accomplish this?
Currently I have a music player that uses FMS on Windows 2003 Server/IIS 6 in a .Net app.I'm trying to move to Windows Server 2008 with IIS 7. However, the player doesn't begin playing from my list when the asp.net page loads with the player. However, if I run my code in debug mose in Visual Studio on the server, the player is functional. Which leads me to ask - can I use FMS in the fashion I want to? If so, how can I set up my site? I tried putting my app pool into classic mode, which didn't work.
Is there some FMS-specific reason why a sendAndLoad function in SSAS couldn't connect to a site on an IP address? Are there any configurations that would need to be set to allow/deny this type of connection? We have a server instance that can only connect to sites hosted on fully qualified domains.
I cannot connect to an FMS server from a client on a another domain using RTMP
Locally running a flash client that uses nc.connect(rtmp://...) to connect - works.
But when the client is in another domain I get NetConnection.Connect.Failed in the netconnection onstatus.
I've put crossdomain.xml files on my FMS folders that allow access from any domain (*). Also the allowedHTMLdomains.txt and allowedSWFdomains.txt are set to allow any - though it's not just the live application I can't connect to, it's also any other app.
There are no firewalls blocking on the server. Port 1935 is available. FMS is set to listen to 1935. The server is accessible with other protocols (http) - but with RTMP it only connects when I try to connect locally, as mentioned.
What other reasons or settings can cause the connection to FAIL?
I have recently uploaded my flex applicaiton on server, it works fine on my system (localhost) but on the production server it tries to access[URL]..which is not available and end up showing "loading" eternally.
