View 3 RepliesI instal on a machine the Adobe Flash Server 3.5.I have the Flash media administration console but i do not know how i can configure the machine to be a flash media streaming server.I have a tv card on my machine and i want use de flash media encoder to stream to a web page the tv signal on my tv card.I think i need to send the signal encoded use the flash media encoder to a flash media streaming server correct?
View 1 RepliesI seem to recall reading somewhere (but for the life of me I can't find the article I was reading), that with Adobe FMS you could store content on one machine, and then run the actual server on a separate machine. Is this correct? If so, how would you go about doing it?
View 1 RepliesI'm doing a test install before we update our old server to 4.03.I've got the server software installed and configured (4.03 server, using iis for web). All the test stuff on the sample index page works, except for the dynamic stream tab.I've eyeballed the .f4m file, and tried putting in a complete url to the samples...but no luck.i just keep getting the stock connection timed out message.
Where do i need to look to start confiriming where this issue may be coming from?I've made made sure I can reach all the test videos by making flash players for them, calling them via rtmp... no problems. It's got to be something dumb with either the f4m file, or the way it's being served (btw, i have added all the mime types to iis , including .f4m as video/mp4....which is one of two ways I've seen it added).
Since FMS has no options to stream to an ipad of iphone I tried to let FMS stream to a Wowza server by using NetConnection / NetStream classes. It seems to work (not getting any errors in the logs) but nothing happens when I try to read the stream from the Wowza server.

i have FMS Installed And after its installed i also Install The Addon Auth to make a username and password so no one else can just start a Stream but after i install it and restart the server it wont work any the fms does work but the addon doesn't.

View 1 RepliesI have been running a test server using Apache as the web server. The problem is I need to be able to run FMS on an IIS machine, and there is a conflict over each trying to binding to port 80. I have read that a solution to this problem is to have 2 IP addresses, having FMS bind to one and IIS bind to the other. This is not a requirement for Apache and FMS. Why is it a requirement for IIS and FMS? This question my show my lack of knowledge of the difference between the 2. But, is it possible to configure IIS or FMS so that they share port 80 like FMS and Apache do? how Apache and FMS work together, and why IIS cant?
View 2 RepliesHas anybody experience to install FMS 3.+ Apache on the same machine with IIS7. Our business department decided to save some money on hardware and we have to install FMS on production, where we have already hostted ASP.NET WebSite. We have to do steaming video on our ASP.NET pages. I think to configure FMS on ports 1925,6000 instead of 1925,80. Will it be ok for Apache? Actually, I tested the installation with this configuration on our testing enviroment and it works, but the funny thing is that I can put rtmp://111.111.111.111/vod/sample.flv works (without port 6000). Is it correct behavior?

Is it possible to install Flash Media Server 3.5 on the same Windows machine where Adobe Connect Pro is installed? If so, how to do it?When I try to do it, it says there is already an istance of FMS running and it asks for uninstalling it.Of course there is not any FMS installed. I want both on the machine.I suspect Adobe Connect uses an engine of FMS to work properly.
View 2 RepliesI'm trying to implement a flex app that will be able to record a video from a webcam and then upload it to a server. I've only found tutorials and examples that require a media server running such as Red5, Flash Media Server and Wowza and an open rtmp stream to the server. However, I want to know if it's possible to record a video locally and then submit it to the server with a simple HTTP request. Is there a tutorial somewhere that shows how to do this? I'm really new in flex development
View 3 RepliesThe FMS_auth_addin_win_v3.msi insists to put the files into C:Program Files (x86)AdobeFlash Media Server 4conf but the server is installed in C:Program FilesAdobeFlash Media Server 4. I nuked all the Abobe content in the 32 bit area, but it keeps re-installing it there. The server used to run 32-bit FMS 3.5, but since we upgraded, I can't get the authentication addin to work. Can I just copy the thing over?
View 11 RepliesI attempted to Install FMS 4.5 with all its modules by installing apache seperately from the FMS installer on Linux However the installation notes do not specify how or where to get the information on how to install all the FMS 4.5 functionality such as HLS to Apple/IOS. But this is the part that messes me up if I install YOUR version of apache then it is supported. Now correct me if I'm wrong because this was the case the last time I tried to install your version of apache. Last time I installed your bundled version of apache and then attempted to install PHP for apache with the modules GD,php_mysql and it didn't work. I attempted to make it work for days. So please tell me how do I install PHP,PHP_GD and PHP_MySql on your bundled version of apache? Also How do I install FMS 4.5 including HLS for Apache on Linux/ Windows that is not bundled or for Microsoft IIS ?
View 13 RepliesWe are deploying a media management system within a local network. FMS will be used to serve the media within the local network. Since we will only have max 100 users and we have a powerful dual 4 core xeon and the plan was to install IIS and FMS on the same machine. But now I read that there will be a conflict because the embedded Apache server that FMS installs will fight for port 80 with IIS.
So one possible solution: I've been reading in the Adobe docs that RTMP is far more efficient than tunneling through HTTP, so if we make sure all client machines allow RTMP (firewall exception) can we then change the configured Apache port and assume that Apache will never ever be used?
Heck in this case can we configure FMS and choose not to install Apache at all and be OK?
We're in process of trying to purchase a new server. Our server unit wanted to provide a VM instance, which I told them would not work (according to the documentation). So, their next suggestion is to provide a blade server. Is this an acceptable configuration (assuming they meet recommended CPU/RAM requirements) to install FMS?
View 1 Repliesi want to make some test in flash media server and i want to install it in windows 7.in the past i can install it an work with it with no problem, now i try to install it and dont work.
View 1 RepliesI just set up a new copy of the official Adobe Amazon Machine Image for FMS4.One show stopper: it seems to require a license key in fms.ini, just like any other FMS4 install. The master log file has "invalid license key" in it. We tried giving it the "Activation key" no dice. There's a license directory in /opt/adobe/fms with 3 .bin files. We tried entering the path to that directory for the license no dice. The docs don't say anything about it.I've spent over 3 hours being transferred around Adobe and listening to elevator music(code).........
I have install the Flash Media Server and Flash Media Live Encoder. Everything run perfectly when I test the Live Stream through localhost, but if I try to embed to another machine, it is failed.
View 1 RepliesI'm attempting to install and run FMS on a Red Hat Enterprise Linux system. At one point, it did function properly, but now it will not stream video at all, and I keep getting a constant stream of errors. No changes were made to the FMS configuration to make it stop working. Attempting to load it in console mode results in the following:
-bash-3.2$ ./fmsmaster -consoleAdobe Flash Media Server (Master)Console mode.FMS detected IPv6 protocol stack!FMS config <NetworkingIPv6 enable=false>FMS running in IPv4 protocol stack mode!Host: uberserver IPv4: 127.0.0.1Server starting...Edge (13199) started, arguments : -edgeports ":1935,80" -coreports "localhost:19350" -conf "/opt/adobe/fms/conf/Server.xml" -adaptor "_defaultRoot_" -name

The assert errors continue until I terminate the process.

View 3 RepliesMight be a dumb question but a client has Windows 2003 Enterprise SP2 R2 and I was wondering if Flash Media Interactive Server will install and run fine on it? The requirements on the site say Microsoft® Windows Server® 2003 with Service Pack 2 but no about "Standard" or "Enterprise".
View 5 RepliesI have installed FMS on windows2003 std on a dedicated server. The server was running windows media services, shoutcast and IIS6 I have killed all these services and am just running FMS so as far as i know port 80 is not in use I can connect the encoder using this address rtmpt://xx.xx.xx.xx:1935/live Does anyone know why i cant just use rtmp://
also if i load the interactive tab on the index page in the webroot, I can connect and i can view the stream but no matter what code i use to embed the player, they all fail to connect yet i can view the stream on the interactive tab.
I have installed fms 4 in windows 7 in my computer, but i cant get it work with a flex application that i have in a server. I added the port in my router's settings

So I have a LAMP stack on a virtual server and would like to install FMS without using the apache that comes with FMS - I would rather just keep on using the currently installed LAMP-stack - is there a tutorial or documentation on how to accomplish this?
