Jul 5, 2010Currently I have a music player that uses FMS on Windows 2003 Server/IIS 6 in a .Net app.I'm trying to move to Windows Server 2008 with IIS 7. However, the player doesn't begin playing from my list when the asp.net page loads with the player. However, if I run my code in debug mose in Visual Studio on the server, the player is functional. Which leads me to ask - can I use FMS in the fashion I want to? If so, how can I set up my site? I tried putting my app pool into classic mode, which didn't work.

Media Server :: Apache Not Working with FMS 4.5 On Windows 2008?
Mar 30, 2012FMS 4.5.1 Windows 2008 SP2 (64bit).We are deploying Adobe Flash Media Server 4.5.1 on a new server but Apache does not work (does not serve html files or stream Quicktime H.264 files).Assorted Problems & Error messages:
1. The webroot/index.html page loads locally, but the HLS/HDS streams result in a 2032 error.
2. The webroot/index.html page does not load from external locations:[URL] (does not load externally).[URL] (our old server, FMS 4.0 and Windows 2003). Everything on this server works, the 2 major differences being that it is running FMS 4.x on Windows 2003.
Some RTMP streaming works externally and internally (f4v files):[URL]FMS does not stream Quicktime H.264 files even though f4v files work.New server (does not work): [URL]Old server (Quicktime/H.264 file works):[URL]Apache does not serve Quicktime/H.264 files: I made sure that Apache had all of the correct mime types specified.
Error messages and attempted solutions:Apache's erro_log file: a. httpd.exe: Could not determine the server's fully qualified domain name, using 127.0.0.1 for ServerName
2. FMS master.log file
a. FMSHttpd -k start returned 1: [URL]1a: Edited httpd.conf file to include ServerName 63.116.232.5
1b: The presence of this error message also indicates that Apache httpd was unable to obtain a fully-qualified hostname by doing a reverse lookup on your server's IP address.
In order for the server to accept external connections a reverse DNS lookup needs to be created. I created a reverse DNS lookup and edited the /etc/hosts file to include the IPaddress, Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN), shortname.

I have an error message that says it's not possible to start this service because it is used by an another process (Flash Media Server).It works again if I stop Flash Media Server and Flash Media Server administration and I start one by one my websites and start FMS after.
-Do I need to disable Auto-start and do it automatically with the task scheduler?

Mar 2, 2010I've recently installed and set up a FMIS 3.5 setup and my web developer wants to have php on the server to create some dynamic content. Trouble is, I can not for the life of me get PHP to work on the server. Is there some special instructions that need to be followed with this special version of Apache that comes installed? Or is there any special reason I should use this version? If it won't hurt anything, I'm more than happy to just uninstall it and install my own Apache package, but I also don't want to limit or cause any problems in the future by doing so.

Jan 10, 2011I have been testing a project with no license key(Dev) and last week I purchased a Flash Streaming license but I go into the fms.ini and insert the key and restart FMS but my streams no longer work and the only error I seem to be getting is: Found Connection Penalty (RTMFP) on core launch, penalty active since time 1294334608.351221 I remove the key and restart the service and everything works fine.
I even tried reinstalling FMS and provide it the key when it asked in the installer but same issue. Is this error related to an issue with the licensing key? There is no error when I remove the key but can't get support through contacting Adobe by phone. I asked what is the proper way to install the key and they said they would open a ticket and contact me back but its been 2 days not including the weekend, I thought it would be a very simple question for the FMS dept that I was speaking with.

May 7, 2009Just installed Windows 7 RC (7100), and got the latest Flash player for IE8 and Opera. My site [URL] has a music player I created that plays (streams) MP3s from a Flash Comm Server I run. The player works fine with Flash Player version 10.0.22.87 on other platforms, but not in Windows 7. Once you pick a song, it should start immediately. Even clicking the play button doesn't work. The symptoms make me think there's a problem establishing the netconnection for streaming.
I've read Microsoft added streaming of some kind in Windows Media Player for Windows 7, could it be interfering?

Jan 17, 2010For the past while, my developer has been working with me on a small project to put together a live interactive whiteboard app, powered by Flash Media Interactive Server. Well, everything is finished & ready to go, but there seems to be a big problem:
The app was developed & tested on a windows machine, while my server and all my website files (to integrate with) is on a Linux system.
It's been a month since this problem arrose, and there had not been any further progress with this project for the time. My developer doesn't seem to know much about how the 'conversion process' works, if there is one.
Do you know if this is possible (to convert a windows-programmed app to work on a linux system)? If so, do you know roughly how it should be handled?

Nov 13, 2009The company I work for installed FMS on a server running Centos for a customer who needed streaming media capabilities. It worked fine for 3 months until today the customer called us and informed us that their client program can no longer connect to the streaming media server. No one has done anything to the server to cause this to happen. When attempting to access the admin console to diagnose the program, the streaming server returned a 500 Internal Server Error. So I tried another page. Same result. Reboots of both the hardware server and the FMS have changed nothing.

Feb 13, 2012currently I use the following workflow for Live video streaming.I have FMLE on a computer streaming the Video feed to my FMS.I currenlty use Dreamweaver to create window with a few instances of a video window and one of the windows is configured to rtmp to my server and the stream name of the stream I have setup in FMLE.This then streams to one of the windows.I then assign a different Stream name to the other windows.
I send an FMLE client to a user in the locations that want to have a video presence on the webpage.I send them instructions and running FMLE and the parameters to use to get their camera up and running.This works fine to a point.Most of the users are not technically minded and so often this leads to issues and delays to get these things to work.
I want to move on and improve this flow.I want to create the video instances on the page where:Below each video window is a text input field where a user can type in their name which will be used as the stream name.Below each video window is a button that the user clicks to connect their camera automatically without having to install FMLE.Once the video feed is running, only that user can click the button again to disconnect it. ( The button changes to "Stop Broadcast" etc).
I have looked at the structure of Ustream for example, and this seems to be the method they use as you can download the XML file of your channe,l and the RTMP URL and stream name can be copied and then used directly in FMLE and you can stream with more control of your camera that way.

Jan 13, 2010I'm trying to troubleshoot a Flash Media Server working with a little video playback application I wrote a few years ago that has suddenly stopped working.I'm using CS3/Actionscript 3.My app uses the FLVPlayback Component, and was working well last time I checked. I recevied a report that the videos stopped working, and have been looking into it.I figured I'd add a bunch of event listeners to the FLVPlayback's ncMgr.netConnection so I could get debug info on things like io errors, net status, etc.The problem I'm running into is that the netConnection is null when I set it to anything on my Flash Media Server, and adding any event listeners to this netConnection throws errors.Here's what I've tried so far:
Playback of a local FLV file works fine.In the FLVPlayback documentation, I found an example and stole the URL of the stream they were using in the example, and that works fine, although it is an HTTP protocol stream rather than RTMP.Any attempt to access FLV files on my Media Server, which has worked fine in the past, basically cause the FLVPlayback object to sit and hang in "buffering" mode and never progresses beyond this point.The netConnection object in this case is null.Here's my code:[code]........
