Beside Flash Media Encoder, can I use a live stream from Windows Media Services? We have live streaming with Windows Media Server, but now want also offer to mobile devices, but we dont re-encode the entire streams (tvs) again, it would be great if we can use a stream from windows to tunnel it to flash media server.
it doesn't matter which operating system we install an our server. What are your experience with Linux and Windows?Which System do you recommend regarding performance issues?
Does is matter what HTTP server I use?In the process of upgrading from FMS 3.0 on Windows using IIS 5 to FMS 4.0. Will dynamic HTTP Streaming work from a Windows server?
Currently I have a music player that uses FMS on Windows 2003 Server/IIS 6 in a .Net app.I'm trying to move to Windows Server 2008 with IIS 7. However, the player doesn't begin playing from my list when the asp.net page loads with the player. However, if I run my code in debug mose in Visual Studio on the server, the player is functional. Which leads me to ask - can I use FMS in the fashion I want to? If so, how can I set up my site? I tried putting my app pool into classic mode, which didn't work.
I recently upgraded from FMS 2 - FMIS 3.5.Over our internal network videos stream like a dream! However, accessing them from outside our own network means that they take about 20 seconds to load, or sometimes just get a message saying the server isn't found. This wasn't a problem with the FMS2 and there have been no changes to firewall settings or anything like that since the old server was up and running without problems.I have the new server set to use exaclty the same ports, but wonder if there are some other settings which could be causing this?Networking isn't really my area of expertise, and I have no idea where to start looking to improve things.
So I have a FMS 3.5, which I want to do live streams. The thing is I want several different people to be able to do the live broadcast, and I would like the server locked down at least a little and not allow anyone that wants to, to start a broadcast. With that said, I have FMS 3.5 installed, and I installed the Authentificaiton Add-In (3.0). I added a user to the authentification add-in, but it's still doesn't require a username / password, doesn't even prompt me.
i want to make some test in flash media server and i want to install it in windows 7.in the past i can install it an work with it with no problem, now i try to install it and dont work.
I am using remote Win Server 2003 R2 via rdesktop. As an "administrator", I installed FMS 3.5 - Developer version using default options. Media Server starts, runs, and appears to work. Admin Server is not running. When I attempt to start it (from Win admin services tools), I get error 1067 (Error registering class: name mismatch (%1$S, %2$S)). Everything done remotely as an administrator.
Does anyone know of any issues with running FMS on Amazon's EC2 Cloud environment? We're running some live streaming applications, but are hearing reports from users of random disconnects.
The installation of FMS 3.5.1 r516 Development fatally failed on our Windows 2008 R2 Server. We tried an R1 server and that one installed with no issues. It gets past the MS C++ installer, then shortly after:
FMS 4.5.1 Windows 2008 SP2 (64bit).We are deploying Adobe Flash Media Server 4.5.1 on a new server but Apache does not work (does not serve html files or stream Quicktime H.264 files).Assorted Problems & Error messages:
1. The webroot/index.html page loads locally, but the HLS/HDS streams result in a 2032 error.
2. The webroot/index.html page does not load from external locations:[URL] (does not load externally).[URL] (our old server, FMS 4.0 and Windows 2003). Everything on this server works, the 2 major differences being that it is running FMS 4.x on Windows 2003.
Some RTMP streaming works externally and internally (f4v files):[URL]FMS does not stream Quicktime H.264 files even though f4v files work.New server (does not work): [URL]Old server (Quicktime/H.264 file works):[URL]Apache does not serve Quicktime/H.264 files: I made sure that Apache had all of the correct mime types specified.
Error messages and attempted solutions:Apache's erro_log file: a. httpd.exe: Could not determine the server's fully qualified domain name, using 127.0.0.1 for ServerName
2. FMS master.log file
a. FMSHttpd -k start returned 1: [URL]1a: Edited httpd.conf file to include ServerName 63.116.232.5
1b: The presence of this error message also indicates that Apache httpd was unable to obtain a fully-qualified hostname by doing a reverse lookup on your server's IP address. In order for the server to accept external connections a reverse DNS lookup needs to be created. I created a reverse DNS lookup and edited the /etc/hosts file to include the IPaddress, Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN), shortname.
Just installed Windows 7 RC (7100), and got the latest Flash player for IE8 and Opera. My site [URL] has a music player I created that plays (streams) MP3s from a Flash Comm Server I run. The player works fine with Flash Player version 10.0.22.87 on other platforms, but not in Windows 7. Once you pick a song, it should start immediately. Even clicking the play button doesn't work. The symptoms make me think there's a problem establishing the netconnection for streaming. I've read Microsoft added streaming of some kind in Windows Media Player for Windows 7, could it be interfering?
Might be a dumb question but a client has Windows 2003 Enterprise SP2 R2 and I was wondering if Flash Media Interactive Server will install and run fine on it? The requirements on the site say Microsoft® Windows Server® 2003 with Service Pack 2 but no about "Standard" or "Enterprise".
For the past while, my developer has been working with me on a small project to put together a live interactive whiteboard app, powered by Flash Media Interactive Server. Well, everything is finished & ready to go, but there seems to be a big problem:
The app was developed & tested on a windows machine, while my server and all my website files (to integrate with) is on a Linux system.
It's been a month since this problem arrose, and there had not been any further progress with this project for the time. My developer doesn't seem to know much about how the 'conversion process' works, if there is one.
Do you know if this is possible (to convert a windows-programmed app to work on a linux system)? If so, do you know roughly how it should be handled?
I have installed fms 4 in windows 7 in my computer, but i cant get it work with a flex application that i have in a server. I added the port in my router's settings
When user first time log into site camera start the capturing and stream is saved in application folder with the streamname(straemname.flv). then user logout and then logged in then i have to append that stream in same straemname.flv filey this code i have done that task
camera = Camera.getCamera(); camera.setQuality(0,80); camera.setMode(videoWidth,videoheight,15,true);camera.setLoopback(false);
Each time the server gets rebooted we receive an invalid license key warning in the event viewer application log. Will this cause the server to stop working? Our license key is valid. The C:Program FilesAdobeFlash Media Server 4.5licenses folder shows the files- sif35.bin,sif40.bin,sif45.bin and sif.bin.
Is there a way to enable a vhost without having to restart the entire fms server? It seems very horrible that you would have to kill everyone using the server to add new vhost?
I have some problems about installing FMS 4 on a CentOS 6 x64. After installing, FMS doens't start properly. I don't see the videos on the web interface. In the log file master.00.log, i can see these errors messages
I,m a newbie and one of my requirements is to Start the Record of the Stream as soon as the Game Starts. The Game gets the ID from JAVA and our client wants the stream record from JAVA.
I want to provides an option in my air/flex application. A user can check an option and the application starts when windows starts.I don't find with google how to do this, someone knows do that ?
currently I use the following workflow for Live video streaming.I have FMLE on a computer streaming the Video feed to my FMS.I currenlty use Dreamweaver to create window with a few instances of a video window and one of the windows is configured to rtmp to my server and the stream name of the stream I have setup in FMLE.This then streams to one of the windows.I then assign a different Stream name to the other windows.
I send an FMLE client to a user in the locations that want to have a video presence on the webpage.I send them instructions and running FMLE and the parameters to use to get their camera up and running. This works fine to a point. Most of the users are not technically minded and so often this leads to issues and delays to get these things to work.
I want to move on and improve this flow.I want to create the video instances on the page where:Below each video window is a text input field where a user can type in their name which will be used as the stream name.Below each video window is a button that the user clicks to connect their camera automatically without having to install FMLE.Once the video feed is running, only that user can click the button again to disconnect it. ( The button changes to "Stop Broadcast" etc).
I have looked at the structure of Ustream for example, and this seems to be the method they use as you can download the XML file of your channe,l and the RTMP URL and stream name can be copied and then used directly in FMLE and you can stream with more control of your camera that way.
When I downloaded a developer edition from Flash Media Server page (11 Oct 2011). I tried to follow the setup instruction in readme.htm which comes in the zip of Linux version.I logged in to terminal as root user and call './installFMS' and then the terminal show me:
ERROR: Your operating system is not supported by the Adobe Flash Media Server installer.
Does it mean Flash Media Server Developer Edition cannot work on OS X Lion (10.7)?
I've got a page laid out that houses a nightly live webstream of music at a venue. Every night (except Sunday) the stream turns on from 8pm-2am Eastern Standard Time. Some nights, I notice there is nobody watching the stream, yet the stream plays everyday no matter what. In the interest of saving bandwidth per month, I'm trying to figure out how to only stream if somebody is watching. So basically the camera would be recording locally, and when someone connects to the website something tells the server to start broadcasting. If the person leaves, the server stops broadcasting. Has anyone ever tried doing this? I'm using Influxis for my media streaming and they've assured me I can execute server side scripts.
I'm having some problems on some systems (seems to affect mostly 64-bit systems) where videos streamed from Flash Media Server 3.5 doesn't start from the beginning. I'm using NetStream.Buffer.Full to detect when the video starts. Usually this works ok, but sometimes the video doesn't skips a couple of seconds from the beginning even though the value of NetStream.time property is 0 when this happens.
i had installed a FMS4 developper in server on my centOs. I can connect to my FMS with client with RTMP, but with RTMFP, FMS don't reply. I looked at FMS log and i saw edge. 00.log:
