I am trying to increase a swf file height and width so it can fit better in my screen. I don't want to rework on everything again in my fla file because it's big hassle. (changing background size makes every symbol off). Are there anyway to do it?

View 1 RepliesThe template is built under Flash and has .swf, .fla and html files and was setup on an html background. To make things look nice I decided to use an XML web template as a background to his template. The problem starts from there.The XML web template allows us to add our own SWF files, so I decided to add the swf file of my friend's template.
The swf file was set to "noscale" and when I imported it into the web template it didn't fit properly. So I took the "noscale" off from the actionscript and imported it again. Even then the scaling of the swf file was not correct.As soon as you load the file, it scales towards the left and not center.My question is how can I write a code within the fla file so that when the swf file is loaded it automatically centers itself?2nd question is how can I setup the dimensions of the file as in terms of height and width of the file without getting it cropped. I tried to set it up from 840x610 to 650x430 however the swf content got chopped off (even with noscale off).
I'm writing jsfl script where I'm setting an element width and height. When I go to run the script, my element's width and height are off by what I set it to. For example, I set the width and height to 800, the results I get for width and height are 799.4, 799.0 respectively. I'm not understanding why my element's width and height aren't exactly what I typed in?Btw, I can go into the "size and position" property UI and set them to 800 x 800 and those values stick. It's only when I set the width and height via the element.width and element.height that my values change on me.

URL...I'm onto the next step on the AS code (see attached zip file on this thread if you need it - file Untitled-3.fla), trying to get the AS to fill an 800*600px window with the dots when the FLA is run.I have tried a range of things, like this (i.e. adding in the hard coded 800 and 600 into the code:[code]But it doesn't do any good!I can't see any other parts in the AS code where the width and height are defined.

(it's a small animation).- When I publish the .SWF, no problem.- When I publish a projector .EXE file for windows, then, the width is still correct, but the height is higher than 62 : I got two small white bands beside top and bottom of my stage,see ?I don't understand why there's such a difference between publishing a SWF or EXE. And I'm afraid this also happens whatever the Stage size is (small or big, I mean) : you always get these blank bands on the top and the bottom, don't you ?
View 1 RepliesWhen I publish my FLV video using Flash CS3 and the "SkinUnderAll" option...the player controls are not visible unless I change the height & width in the html file Flash created.But, Flash shows the height & width 3-times in the html.
Question-1: Why 3-times? What does each of the 3 Height & Width references do?
Question-2: How should I modify the code to be able to see the entire video and the player controls?
It seems if I change all 3 everything just gets bigger and bigger.
1 - I import it into Flash CS3 on a PC w/XP Pro using... File | Import | Video take all the defaults and choose "Skin Under All" as the player option.
2 - In "Properties" panel at bottom of screen Flash shows the video as 640x480
3 - I then click File | Publish to publish the video. Flash creates all my files for me.

4 - I then put the folder with the files on my website.
5 - The video plays but the player controls are not visible.

7 - I try changing the 550x400 to 640x480 in all three places... no good. Even at 1000x1000 the entire player is not visible. Everything just gets larger.
What are each of the 3 references to Height and Width in the html file Flash Creates and which should I change to simply show all the player controls?
I am a very fresh guy in flash, I have experince in Javascript , C++ and other programming languages. So I am very much interested in doing task with Action script and get results which are not possible by GUI.I want increase the height of Movie clip using action script, So I tried to increase .height property the height increased but It increased in both direction top & bottom) I want to keep it bottom fix. I tried ScaleY, too but no luck.Somehow we can adjust the bottom after resizing but it won;t give good effect when we are using tweening or other animation.

I have described the pane height and width in %. But as the number of rows in the data grid increase, due to fixed panel height, a scroll bar appears in the data grid. I've got 2 dynamic textFields that is feed xml data(String) from external xml file.What I want to achieve is that the text fields width should increase or decrease dynamically according the String that's passed into it.Eg:- if the String contains value "Hello, Hello, Hello, Hello, Hello, Hello".The size of the textfield should increase to fit the entire String value inside it.I've tried using TextFieldAutoSize.CENTER or TextFieldAutoSize.LEFT, but I'm not getting what I want.
