Dec 5, 2011I have an external HTML atI want it loaded into Flash as plaint text so I parse it manually.Seems simple enough, but I can't find anything online.

Jan 4, 2011I have a very simple flash program code in AS3, inside this program there is a dynamic textfield html capable. Also i have a database were i will put some information.Each element in the database can be linked to other. For example, this database will contain tourist spots, and they can be related with others in the same database.This interesting spot is near <link to="ramdo2">ramdom place2</link>. And so, so so..The information in the database is retrived by the flash application and it shows the text on the dynamic textfield. I need somehow to tell my flash application that have to be a link to other part of the database, so when the user click the link a function in flash call this new data.The database is a simple Mysql server, and the data is not yet in there, waiting for your suggestions of how to format it and develop the solution.Im a php developer too, so i can make a gateway in PHP to read the MySQL and then retrive some format to flash, an XML for example.

Now I want to display the first part of that text in a data grid. To do so it seems it might be easiest to get the plain text version.

I have a TextField component that has some text added during the movie. This textfield has html set to true. The text that I am passing to it has html tags.

example: i would like to create a plain text file named "MyTextFile.txt", have it contain text that reads "This is my text file." and save it to my desktop.
another option would be to have the file already exist in a directory, so i would only have to rewrite its contents - assuming that would be easier.
all of which should happen as a background process, without any save dialoge panel appearing.

Jul 30, 2009I've been playing with an xml feed for a semi-useful class (which I'll post when it's done)....but I've run into a small problem.The XML feed doesn't send me HTML content, it only sends text. So a node that should read.Url...So I need to work out some way of recreating these links from a text only feed. Before I give myself a headache and attempt to create a class that searches each line of text for "http://" and then searches for the next space in the text, does anyone know if this has already been done? Is there a class out there that can look at normal text and convert bits that are web addresses into links? If not, can anyone think of a more efficient way to do it than searching the text for "http://" and then looking for the next space?

Apr 17, 2011Is there any way I can embed HTML in flash? I know I can do this with text boxes but is there any other way I can do it? If not I know theres is the load feature where I can load text from a text file. With the html text box editing, Can i link that to the text file?. As in when you edit the text box with html could i have the textbox's instance name equal to the text file? With this my issue is with the <a href> in one textbox, I would like when i click those it open another text file in a different text box.
Clarification: I have two text boxes in my flash file.One has current products. And the other is the description of the product they select. I would like a way to edit and change the products in the first text box without having to keep using the FLA file. Which is why i am using this code

I need help getting it to show up in a text box.That is the first part But the main problem is im not sure how to code the a href correctly so that when i click it, another text file opens in the second text box.So that when a user clicks on a product ,like "Product 1" It opens the correct description text file in the second text box.

Aug 8, 2011It's what this image describes:For some reason, I cannot use bold tags to set the TLF text to bold, even though both the regular and bold fonts are embedded.so that the webpage that embeds this movie can call its function (otherwise the movie itself will be wrapped by TLF).his is not exactly a question since there is an obvious solution to this. Just set the htmlText as something like "<font face='Myriad Web Pro'><b>BOLD</b></font>" and you're done.hs issue is, why does it not render the bold text without the font tag in the first place, if I have already set the font of the TLF text in the PI?

Feb 2, 2010I have continued to find a resolution and have had no luck. My website has 5 flash buttons (tabs) to take you to a new html page. Each time you go to a page the button seems to have to re-load creating a "white blinking" inside the cell. The background of the fla file is black and I have the table cell background set to black hoping thatbut to no avail. I thought once a swf is loaded it won't have to re-load. However when I Publish the .html, it opens in IE but stays on the first frame of the preload. loading 0%" A pop occurs to tell me I have to allow Active X which I do but the html never plays foward or completes the preload. I have a text box on my page that has an instance name of myText_txt so it should load the data from the events.php into the text field. I've enabled HTML on the text box and made it dynamic and multiline. When I output the PHP file the text box is blank. Here is the PHP file:
