View 2 RepliesI can't sort out what's wrong with my code (see below). Basically, I have two mc and two buttons in the library. One movieclip linked to "Card" class and has multiple frames with images in it. The other mc is empty and linked to "CardObject" class. The goal through button clicks, user can keep flipping the card and getting new image each time (or prevBtn to go back to prev frame).OOP is new to me, I've done mostly timeline animations and simple coding right on the timeline, so excuse the mess LOL

View 5 RepliesI need a simple image gallery to load when you click a button. I've tried shadowbox but have had absolutely zero luck. I'm not sure how to load it from a flash file and I know there is work that has to be done outside of flash like in the root folder. All I need is for a simple image gallery, nothing fancy, to open when I hit a button. how to use shadowbox in lamens terms or knows how to easily script a gallery that would be amazing.
View 2 RepliesI'm designing an interface for a class, and the buttons that I am using all have multiple functions.For example, when the story button is clicked, I need the mc to stop playing and change to text (in the same window/screen, just no mc playing). The mc is 31 frames long, but if there's a way to just make it loop continuously until told not to, Currently, my code looks like this:

When I click the button, the mc does not stop playing and the text does not show up.
this is EXACTLY what i want... but in AS2 [URL]..a very simple click on a button, popup appears of image, and then an exit button on the image.
View 6 RepliesI am just new to Flash CS4, recently trying to add a slide show in my webpage, with the function of click on any of the images in the slide show, that will bring me to another webpage. The flash file will be inside a html pages manage by Adobe Contribute.
I have already build a one layer with 10 images slide show, but have no idea to add the function of clicking on any images to bring to another website, can anyone give me a hand on this.
I am building a navigation menu with buttons that call and show a movieclip just below the button. I have no more compiler or output errors. Despite this, I still dont have a working navigation menu.The movieclips are only found in the library and are being called by buttons on the timeline. I currently have all the actionscript on frame 1 on a separate layer of the main timeline. i have 3 file. the first is quiz.as that contain two button. play and invite friend.quiz.fla. and quizapp.***. when i click play button i want to show the quiz that store in quizapp.as. int the quiz.as i have the mouse event that call quiapp.but when i run i got an error:

in createButtons(), i create three button next,prev and finish. whereas, in my quiz.fla library i have drag the button into my library but the error show nuul object reference for the button that i have created.
make an graphic (just a box with text in it) be shown as default, then when the user clicks (either clicks the box or anywhere or a cross - anything!) the window is hidden, then if the user wants to see the box again, they can click a button saying 'show info'.

Well, when i click on the button to change the movieclips. click 1 = movieclip 1 when i click again on the button it change to movieclip 2 My problem is that i can`t make so it can change to movieclip 3.So when i click it must be something like this> click 1 = movieclip1, click 2 = movieclip2, click 3 = movieclip 3 so on...

I'm trying to find out how to make a simple image gallery which changes image upon a mouse click on a button, when a button is pressed I want the image to slide in from the left into the viewable area and then when another image is selected I want the previous image that was viewed to remain in the screen and then the new image slide across over the top to replace the image.
I can get the images to slide across from the left upon a mouse click however I can't change the layer order so if image 6 is viewed and then I click to see image 1, the image will slide into place however it will be below image 6 so therefore not viewable.
I don't have an example of what I'm after but I hope my explanation was good enough, I've seen this been done in javascript but I have to use flash and am unable to replicate the effect I'm after
I have an index page with several buttons on. When the buttons are clicked, it takes the user to a different point in the timeline and loads the appropriate swf in the UILOader I have on stage.Everything was working fine, but it has suddenly decided to stop working. Now if you click a button on the index page, it loads the relevant swf just fine, but when you go back to the index page and click a different button, the UILoader will not show the corresponding swf and just appear blank, although I know its there as I can hear the sound of the swf playing! I'm not sure if its simply something blocking the swf, but I don't even know what it is! I'm using addChild to add little panels to the screen when a button is pressed, but they are hardly big enough to cover the whole of the UILoader!

View 6 RepliesI CANNOT see my image files when I import them. This is the case regardless of whether I import them directly from my image files, or from my Flash library. They WILL NOT show up in the stage area, although the panel on the right shows the file! What can I do to correct this? I am using Flash CS4 which I need for my Digital Design classes through the Art Institute of Pittsburgh! I will FAIL this course if I can't get this program to work properly!!
View 7 RepliesI have made a bitmap image into a rollover button - reason - so that when the mouse rolls over the hit area of the button/image/thumbnail - it becomes larger on the stage and when the mouse moves outside the paramaters of the larger picture it goes back down to the original button/image/thumbnail size.That works fine.However . . . there is always a however. When I implemented the same functions to the other thumbnails on the stage - if I rollover the second thumbnail- the other thumbnails show up (through) on top of that enlarged image.

I've created a 60 second animation of an hourglass timer counting down, and next to it, is a card showing a word. I need this whole animation to play when you hit a 'start game' button and also I need the word on the card to be a random word. All of the words are saved as separate vector files for now.
What is the best way to manage this on the timeline, and what would be the code to make a random image appear?
I have an image slide show that was created in Flash CS3 with a fade transition. I want to slow down the slide show so the pictures display longer. Is there an easier way to change the speed of the slide show other than dragging each frame on the time line?I dragged each frame 20 frames longer and it's not working for me. It seems as though some images display much longer than other.
View 4 RepliesI have Background layer, Bkg_Image layer & Video layer. I have embeded the flv movie on Video layer. Though on stage it shows all the layers, but when I test the movie it shows only Background layer & Video layer. I can't see the Bkg_Image layer.
The Actions layer has external swf loading AS3 which is working fine. Only the problem with Bkg_Image layer which is imprortant for me.
When I test movie, I see as in the following snapshot (Just the Background_Image & Video):
My client has purchased a Flash template which I'm in the process of editing. The XML file has 5 images linked to the Flash file, I've replaced the first 3 images, all works when uploaded to the remote server but when I delete the the last image (5) only the first 2 images show when run in Flash Player. If I view it in live view Dreamweaver (CS5) it runs with no problems ie it runs through the 4 images as expected.Can't figure it out checked the usual things, deleted the files on the server, cleared the cache in Firefox, I'm quite rattled spent the whole day on this, still can't get it to work.

View 3 RepliesI have been struggling with this with CS4 and CS5. I am working on an animation with a couple of characters comprised of several pngs I converted to symbols. When one characters symbols overlap another characters the swf file shows the stage color rather than the background image I have placed in the file. I can publish it as an html with the option of playing it windowless transparent and it will remove this problem. But I would like to just be able to play the swf file without this issue.

The thing is, I want a button that says either "Running" or "Stopped" (each has its own image). When I click the button when it says "Running," the button image should change to "Stopped"; when I click the button when it says "Stopped" it would change to the button image for "Running." How can I do this?
