Professional :: StageWebView <video> Support?

When working in the Flash CS5 IDE and publishing this code it basically tells me I don't have <video> support.
import flash.geom.Rectangle;
import flash.media.StageWebView;
var webView:StageWebView = new StageWebView();[code].....
I can confirm this by publishing this code and clicking the "Test Video Support" button:

import flash.media.StageWebView;
var webView:StageWebView = new StageWebView();[code]....
Is it something to do with the browser used by StageWebView? Air WebKit? Something to do with the IDE?

The video performance I get from the built in FLV video is pretty poor. I'm considering using a StageWebView to display a HTML5 page with a standard <video> in it.
The video shows up and (if I enable controls) can be played and it looks great (much better than FLV). The only issue is I cannot find a way to have the video autoplay once the StageWebView is loaded.
I've set the <video .... autoplay> parameter. I've also tried using JavaScript to send a video.play() (after the window load event is complete and the DOM is ready).
I can't wait for AIR3.0 so we can just use StageVideo.. But for now I'm using AIR2.7 via Flash CS5.5 publishing for an iPad2 via AIR for iOS.

i don't understand flash plugin only support .swf file,not support .flv file? always require load a swf file for play flv file, for exampes:

I'm using a simple document. It has nothing in the library and the SWF is pointed to the class "Main" (Main.as is in the same folder). All Main.as has in it is this super complex code:

Nothing shows up. I run it in flash (ctrl+enter test movie) and I see google load. On the ipad2 I see absolutely nothing. why I don't see the StageWebView?

Looking into HTML5 video tag, and researching which browsers support which video file types, and my initial thought is things just got harder than just using flash. I am wondering if there is some skeleton code (combined with development approach for videos) that someone has figured out to do the following: If flash is available, use it If not, try html5 video ogg format If that doesn't work, try html5 video h.264 format If that doesn't work, try html5 video webM format Based on what I am seeing, am I correct in thinking that now, in order to accommodate all users on all browsers, a video needs to be published in 4 formats? If so, this HTML5 video thing is an epic fail!

I have developed a video player using Flash 8 Professional and the FLVPlayback component. Recently I have been testing a few 720p .mov files converted to FLV by FFMPEG running on an encoding server. I am noticing that these files do not play back in my video player. It appears that they do not have any audio attached to them but when I play them in Adobe Media Player the audio is there.
Is this due to the FLVPlayback component in Flash 8 not supporting HD videos? When I test locally the video picture plays with no sound but when I run in a browser the video freezes and does not play. The progress bar appears to move as if the video is playing however.

If someone provides me the FLV with the support SWF files and HTML page (so that the movie is embeded on the HTML page with the skin controls)...and I need to rename the movie from what they sent it as...will I also need the native FLA? Do I simply rename the HTML page to the desired link name for brand consistency on my website, will that solve the problem without needing the FLA?

I've heard that Adobe Flash CS5 now comes with native support for Arabic (and other right-to-left languages).I haven't confirmed this, but I have two questions:
1) Does Flash CS5 actually natively support Arabic without needing to use the text layout framework URL...
2) If so, does this native support extend to the ComboBox component?
I'm working on a form in Flash that uses the ComboBox component, and I need to verify whether this support is as holistic as I hope it is.

I am looking how to escalate to Adobe Tech Support but paying 29 bux an hour for some recruited college Grad that knows to little doesnt suit me.
Bought an HP Quad and it had Win7 home so poorly installed, configured, overloaded with junk, would not backup, when it did backup and create a repair disk they wouldnt restore. HP's preloaded Win7 build both IE8 and Firefox were crashing with both BSOD and Browsers not responding and dying. Firefox never responds to anything, Microsoft indicates is an add on problem but I think it can be a flash issue although it occurs much more on Wiin7 (ANY Version) for 32 or 64 bit. I have been screwing with this for a month screaming at Microsoft and Mozilla but its a waste of time.
Microsoft forums are polluted for Win7 browser BSOD and Browser halting then crashing posts, there answer is disable add-ons. I cant surf the net without add ons so that is a stupid reponse of finger pointing, giving appearance that Msoft, Adobe and Mozilla dont communicate. No company will take ownership and drive the issue to find the root cause and where ever that cause is make them fix it, Msfot, Adobe of Firefox. so what do ya do?
The HP PC with horrible preload of win7 finally died and killed the build but Microsoft was equally useless in helping me repair that preloaded junk even though the OS is theres. I BOUGHT real disks because HP couldnt support the mess - HP couldnt support chewing food let alone the mess they place on PC's with 90% asian parts with old drivers. Eleven escaltions starting on DAY 1 of ownership of a Pavilion. Hundreds of crash dump error reports sent to Firefox has still gone unresponsed, as they employ the 5th ammendment ,method of silence without support and Msoft remove all add on is laughable but proves HP. Firefox and MicroSoft wont assume responsibilty.
This sucks as all three gloat and boast about a HIGH levels of support and awards won for support but it is all myth, and laughably a lie but I still want it repaired. 28 years in IT - retired I feel qualififed to make the observation.
I never attempted to contact Adobe but I get redirected after seeing the warning about 39 bucks an hour to answer a phone for a freeware add-on.
Does anyone know of have a escalation path to a real person at adobe or department beause tthis site redirects from the ASK Adobe Support link meaning I cant even mail a question to then, Already a BAD sign but the driver is free, but they wrote, and millions are having issue so where is there support - Why bother writing the addon if people cant even ask a question.
So does any know if they support the flash add-on without charging? a Glitch they might want to know about is flash 10.0.0.1 shows in Win7 Event logs as version 0.0.0.1 and I have logs showing that an addon report from the DEP (Data Execution Service) saw an add-on go to a non executalbe memory region whenthe only add-on I have is flash.
Google for IE8 Browser Crash 566,500, Win7 Browser crash 1,500,000, Firefox crashing 587,000, Firefox flash crash 1,420,000, Adobe flash crash 1,820,000, are 4,615,500 google posts found for one issue and I know there are more than that failing but Im sick of the whole thing so adobe is my last gasp. Please respond if you have a fix or path to escalate to adobe.

I have a Flex Mobile Project with a View in it. I placed a background image on that view. Now I want to add a StageWebView on it to render an HTML file, in such a way that the contents of the HTML scroll while the View's background is visible. However, when the StageWebView gets rendered, it has a white background. I didn't find a Background property on it to modify. I tried to change the stage's alpha, but it didn't work.

It's a simple sample that if you click on the bookmark and you can get access to it.
But I want to put the content in the tag into a spark list. And get the same result when I click the list which needs some kind of simulation of a click in a webView.

I am trying to gracefully close a StageWebView, created in this case as (webview), and return to the app that is running it.At present I have three types of things I want displayed. Three different views of maps.I can call each type up, and it positions a webview on the screen in the top three/quarters of the screen.A button is displayed just below this, overlaying the app main screen, below the map window.In experimenting, I tried this option, which actually works, but then leaves the running app in a non-functional state.

I'm making an AIR app that uses StageWebView to display an external html page. The external page displays Spanish accented characters fine in browsers, but they show up as �� in AIR.Is there a setting available that I'm unaware of for setting character encoding to UTF-8 in AIR or StageWebView?Here's my code:

I'm currently developing a flex mobile project. I currently need to load local javascript using stagewebview. Like:

Even though the "view" mc has a y value of 50 and an x value of 10 the webView is locatet at x:0 and y:0. Of course I could just change the viewPort settings but I really need the WebView to move around with the "view" mc.

I am using Flash Builder 4.5 to build an iPhone app.In order to display ads I plan to use StageWebView and load a webpage containing the ad code.Lets say the ad will be 320x50 pixels.So the Actionscript code would look similar to this:

I have created a flash aplication and need to make a HTML version for people who dont have flash, I found this method on the internet [URL] but dont wish to use it as i dont want seperate pages and the delay caused by 2 loads and the time taken for the script to activate.
