I was wondering whether MP3s or WAVs would be better to avoid syncing issues. Also, what audio stream settings would be best?
I was also wondering if you can manually play the audio track by moving the play head over it. I've tried multiple times with multiple settings to no avail.
When I go to test my video the audio and video are playing at different playback speeds. I'm trying to create a video using Flash that requires events based on the song itself. how to make the audio and video play at the same speed during Timeline playback and testing?
View 1 RepliesI'm making an animation in flash CS5, and everything went well with it until a certain scene, which is no different than the other scenes in terms of animation/audio. In that scene, while one character is finishing his audio sentence, the next audio line already begins, screwing up the animation to audio sync in the animation from that point on. This doesn't make sense because the line that begins too early, isn't marked to play until a few seconds into the NEXT scene. Why is this happening? I tried so many things and it's really frustrating that nothing is working. I tried changing the lines from even, to stream, from mp3 to wav, making scenes longer at the end, but no matter what I do, the next audio line begins really early, messing up the entire audio to animation sync of the entire video from that point on.
View 5 RepliesI have MP3 files with finely-tuned compression from an audio app. If I use them in my Flash movie, and disable audio compression in "Publish Settings"... will Flash definitely not touch the files and use whatever MP3 compression settings the files have? Or... will flash convert them into raw audio?

View 2 RepliesI've developed an application which uses a (dynamic) XML file to load in several files; a maximum of four MP3 files and a number of JPG files.When everything has finished loading, the user can press a "Play" button. The application could be described as a "mixer"; it's used to give online music lessons and to facilitate this, the sheet music is loaded (cut up into into several JPGs) which move horizontally on the screen like a marquee, while the music it represents begins playback. The music exists of several MP3s so that the user can mute (e.g.) the vocals or the drums, allowing him to focus on (e.g.) the guitar.
So what's going wrong, is that the audio files are not playing in sync. They are all pre-loaded so any delay between files shouldn't be sought in the files not being fully loaded yet. For initiating playback in the application, I'm using a simple function with a for loop in it, which sets each instance of my sound class to start playing at position 0 of its timeline (I've added in highlighting for all of the "code" blocks in my post, to keep everything easy to read through):

Seeing as this didn't work, I have no clue what I could give a shot next... so if anyone has any ideas or suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated! Something else I noticed, was that if I run the application on very fast PCs, the MP3s are almost always in sync, but the PC that I'm developing on isn't that sluggish either and they hardly ever run in sync on it - so it will form a problem for pretty much all of the people who will use the application.
Calling channel.position on an ENTER_FRAME event, I notice that it's not being updated every frame, but it looks more like every frame and a half.

I am having a problem with Flash.I get the message Movie not loaded if I right clich where the video should be.I may have set the hardware acceleration on/off by mistake, but I cannot get the Settings manager to open to check it.I am running Feroda rc14.If I go to http:[url].... and right click in to white area at the top, I get the message 'Movie not loaded' and the flash version - 10.2.159.1. This is where I should be able to open the settings window.Where does Flash store that info on my PC? How can I check it/change it without Settings manager?

I have one that's almost done and the stage size is 700x800 px. But I'm starting to worry if that's going to look too small? To change it, will be a lot of work - there's animation, imported Jpegs etc. As far as I can tell, in order for it to look correct in larger dimensions I will need to basically create it again from the ground up. So, I'd really like to get an idea of what the optimal pixel dimensions would be for ecards to run on multiple platforms.
I really want to do this and I don't feel like I can move ahead until I get the viewing size correct. I don't even mind redoing the card. I just want my future cards to be the correct size. I don't want to have to come back and redo them all. By the way, the cards are being made in Flash. The site itself will be created in DreamWeaver.
I have a Flash movie which is synched to an MP3 file by adding keyframes at the appropriate points to trigger actions.
In the *.fla file, and in an exported *.swf or *.exe Projector file the synching is retained perfectly. However, when I include the *.swf in an html file, the synching is lost. It would appear that either the MP3 file is playing at the right speed and the movie is lagging behind, or the movie is at the right speed and the MP3 is playing faster than it should.
I have matched the Audio Output stream to the MP3 file in the Publish Settings dialogue (both now 128kbps), but the drifting still occurs in an html page.
I am using Flash 8.0 on a PC running Windows XP Pro SP3. I have a quad-core Intel Xeon, and 4meg of RAM.

The first few sounds are syncing perfectly, however when I test the movie in Flash Player, at about the middle part of the animation, the sounds no longer sync; they play ahead of where they are supposed to. Testing the movie right in Flash, though, the sounds are fine. Exporting to a SWF file as well as a MPEG-4 also plays the unsynched sounds where they are not supposed to be

Currently I have a BB app that does the same, I record the audio in .amr format, send the bytes over to the server and convert it to an .mp3 file with ffmpeg. How can I manage to record audio and save it in .mp3 format? With Flash, HTML or any other means. My website is being built with PHP under the CakePHP framework.

So I've got an .swf file embedded in a document (SMART board in this case, but a simple Word doc would probably serve in the same fashion). I'm trying to replicate the same functionality I see in another .swf. Basically its got a configuration menu where you can open and configure the .swf to behave differently, then save off and have it keep that. More importantly, if I close the document and re-open, it keeps the configuration. Harder yet, if I mail the document to someone else, it will keep the configuration.
Oops, its that last step that kills me. I understand how to use shared objects to save settings locally. I don't believe they're using server based shared objects in this case (no maintained server for it). So how can they be saving settings that travel with the document?
I'm trying to change a Flash animation into a Quicktime movie to post to YouTube, which I've done with a much smaller file, but have had trouble with a larger 2.6M file. When testing Flash movie I get dialog box saying- Content will not stream... Change Runtime Shared Library Library > Advanced ActionScript 3.0 in Publish Settings. So I enter Publish Settings, on Formats I leave Flash and HTML checked. Select center tab for Flash, click on settings for ActionScript 3.0 in scripting box. In Advanced ActionScript Settings dialog at the bottom I've tried changing the Runtime Shared Library drop down to the Merged into Code option but it didn't help. The other option is the Preloader Method, where I think the problem is, but when it is changed form Preloader SWF to custom the Preloader SWF box at the very bottom empties and when the movie is published I get a warning of no Librarys linked and when movie is played int the Quicktime player some of the animations fragment and leave the fragment as remnants.

1) There are two flash files, a menu and a header, in the menu when the page paods the buttons are white and turn orange when you scroll over them. Id simply like them orange when the page loads and then to turn white when you scroll over them. I can figure out how to get the scroll over to white but not the first part to getting the load orange.
2) In the header file there are several pics. Beside the pics there are scroll over buttons. Id like the first button, that says domestic contract, open when the page loads.
Yes correct I'm talking about Flash Player 11, thats what it says in Flash CS5 software. Whatever I do in Publish Setting, Flash software always returns option to be Flash Player 11, I don't get this. I choose Flash Player 8 and AS 2.0 and re-open Publish Settings it is again back on Flash Player 11 and AS 3.0.

My global storage settings are set for 1) 'none' , 2)allow 3rd party..unchecked and 3) store common flash... unchecked. I can make changes but when i click another tab and come back to the storage settings tab every thing is still set for 'none' etc. This is true for all the tabs. no change I make is retained once another tab is activated or if I close the browser page. I have uninstalled flash and reinstalled. Searched and deleted every entry in the register that I thought may be relevant but no change. would like to be able to enable these options

View 1 RepliesI'm having a little trouble with my publish settings setup.Let's say that I have a file called MyFirstAnim.fla under the folder AnimSource.Then, I set the swf publish path to ../AnimFinal/MyFirstAnim.swf, and everything is great.Now, I need another file almost identical the first one, so I copy MyFirstAnim.fla and rename it to MySecondAnim.fla.hen I publish the file my MyFirstAnim.swf (under the folder AnimFinal) got overridden.So, I removed the swf part of the publish setting, leaving just the relative path (../AnimFinal/).
Am I smart or not?

I need to use it with SlideShowPro Director and the associated product 'ThumbGrid'.I followed the instructions and settings from SlideShow Pro but nothing happens when I publish.
