I am trying to put a facebook like button onto my flash site but it goes at the bottom. What other coding do I have to do. I would like to have it near the middle of the page.

how can i add facebook like box on a flash site... Above is a block in a flash site i want to show up fb like box.
Someone have already done this? I have a solution in mind, but I don't tried yet. Before trying i'm wanna know if it's possible.
My solution is just posting a wall into an html page and getting the source of page in Flash and parsing it.
We are writing a new social app that connects to FB using FB connect (actually, it's in Flash so we're using the FB AS3 SDK, which uses the FB Javascript API under the hood AFAIK).
When the flash app is served from our site - it works fine.But when we try to embed it in a 3rd party site (using an Iframe that points to our site) the following happens: when we try to perform a login to FB using the AS3 function Facebook.login(onLogin, opts), a small browser-based login to FB pop-up comes up, but it has the following error first
Or is it possible that FB don't support FB connect apps that are embedded in 3rd party sites?
I'm currently building an application using the Adobe Facebook API and I've run into an issue where for the login method the Facebook login popup displays but when doing a Facebook share/post the popup is blocked.
This code works fine and displays me a Facebook login popup without question (Firefox):

However, the following code running in the same application throws up a popup blocker (again Firefox):
Facebook.ui( "stream.publish", "popup", params );
Does anyone know of a work around this issue to make the share popup come up just like the login popup?
A client of mine has had 2 sites (both Flash sites) attacked over the last 12 months, so he's been asking: should he go for a static HTML site or stick with a Flash site? Is there ways to make a Flash site more secure?

View 1 RepliesI hate CS5, so I'm trying to stick with CS3. However, I'm doing a Facebook app, and I need to use the GraphAPI, which is a swc file. So far, I cannot figure out how to use the swc file with Flash CS3 Professional. CS5 has a "browse to swc file" option in "Publish Settings". CS3 does not - only "browse to folder". Is this even possible in CS3, or is my only option to switch over to CS5? (Again, I'm talking about Flash Professional, not Flash Builder.)

The swf has to connect to a SmartFoxPro socket server on another domain.I'm using the Facebook Actionscript API to interface with Facebook. (Should I use PHP, instead? I read an article that recommends using PHP, because the Actionsrcipt API may not be kept up to date.) When I fire up my app, I get a "Security Information" pop-up box saying that the page contains both secure and nonsecure items. I click "yes" to all the display of the nonsecure items.
Then, I get an "XD Proxy blah-blah-blah" popup. This pop-up goes away, and then my app logs in to my SmartFox server.So... What is this "XD Proxy" window? I think it looks unprofessional, and users may think there's an error with the app. Also, can I block or hide the "Security Information" pop-up? Why don't I see this in other FB apps?

The documentation ([URL]) has more around WebSession - but the example I have which is closest to what solution I'm trying to implement uses JSSession and it looks like I could avoid all of the JavaScript pass-through & ExternalInterface calls I'm making. It appears that the benefit of using this new ActionScript Facebook API is to avoid having to make all of the Facebook calls via JavaScript.

View 4 RepliesI have a facebook application where the user choose 4 of his friends and then it creates a video (swf) with the pictures of your friends in it (loaded via xml). So I need to share this video on the user timeline. Everything works fine but the video is not embedded in the post on his timeline, there is only a post with the link to the page in it.The weird thing is, if I post the url directly on my timeline, the video is embedded, but not if the same link is posted via the application.here is my code called by the share button in js :

I've recently used the 'Static HTML' application to add autoplaying flash content to a Facebook Page.Nothing too fancy, no sound, and only a few secs long. Now, Facebook say:-"Apps on Pages must not host media that plays automatically without a user's interaction."
What do they mean by 'Media' exactly? I can understand a ban on autoplaying audio content but does the ban extend to something as harmless as an animated GIF? Or more to the point, does an autoplaying .swf file fall under this?
Lastly, what course of action would Facebook take if I did violate this rule? Would they issue a warning (giving me an opportunity to remove the 'offending' item) or would they just shut down my page without any consultation?
I've had an issue with using Facebook's Share feature.
The user experience on the shared content below is just completely unclear (even when I tested some clarified language: e.g. "click here"). Users simply don't know what to do: they often either click "Like," or they comment with something along the lines of "I support you."
According to the documentation, it is possible to share Flash content in these posts. I'm hoping I can create a "Support" button as an SWF button.
Is it possible to dynamically create such an SWF with a custom *href? Will my use case work on Facebook?

I don't know much about Flash so understanding how to implement a preloader for my entire site is just a bit beyond me. Basically, I just want a loading bar, "loading" text, and the percentage text (this should all be in AS3). I know that in Flash CS5, a preloader bar is included as one of the components. The only problem is that I don't know what to do with it (and it shows up as blue and white so not sure how to change the colour).
View 2 RepliesI bought a Flash Portfolio program from Flash Components and followed the tutorial for setup and when I click index.html within my flashport folder, from my local PC it works perfectly. Now when I upload it to my website and try and run [URL], or [URL] a small portion of it loads (just my name and a blank screen really) and stops. So it works when I run the it from my local machine, but doesn't work from my website. Can anyone provide and thoughts or comments?
