Professional :: The Project Panel Does Not Work Anymore?

I'm using flash cs5.5 and today I opened my project to start working... just to find out that the project panel does not work. When I click the tab to expand it, flash hangs for a minute and then it works, but the panel is blank, empty. The odd thing, I saved the project as CS5 version to open it in the CS5 Flash, but CS5 it's broken too.
I tried opening Flash (both versions) without loading any project and the tab does not work either.
does anyone noticed when using the latest flash player (10), all website thatuse preloading and is publihed with actionscript 2.0 is not working anymore. Only the onloadComplete or onLoadInit is triggerd, so preload animations are skiped. For example i made this website a while ago that worked fine with flash players up to verion 9.Now the preload percentage is not showing anywhere. I also tested other websites that i know off where made in actionscript 2.0
Im very new to flash and a colleague provided me with perfectly functioning swf presentation. I opened it with flash to make some minor mods and now when i save the pause/play buttons he had put on the presentation no longer work no longer work.
I have used the script below to loop my movie 3 times, many times before.I just made a new banner and put this same script in a keyframe at the end of the movie, like all the other times, but it is now giving me an error messages..see below.
I just finished up my update for my adobe products, and one of the updates was going from Flex3 to flex 3.2. I rebuild my app using flex 3.2 and it worked fine in my browsers. But, II used to load my flexapp in a flash movie and published this movie to an EXE. What used to work isn't working anymore. In my flex project I use the popupmanager to popup custom dialogsscreens: they work in my browser, but they don't popup up anymore when I load the flex app in my flashmovie...
I have used a pop up window code several times before and now it doesn't seem to work. I've tried in several different movies now and when pressing the button it simply flashed the page and moves a little, but won't actually pop up to the page it's pointed to.Here's the code:

I´m working on a project for a presentation, but there is a weird bug...When I test the project in Flash, it works properly, but when I open the .exe or .swf file in my pc, it apparently does not work.The proyect is set to be in full screen, but while testing the .exe, if I press (ESC) to leave full screen mode, then it works perfect!
I need my proyect to be full screen, so removing that feature is not an option.The bug makes my proyect to stop in a frame, but if I press ESC, I can see that the project never stoped, and it's in the frame that it should be.I uploaded my proyect so you can download it if you want and help me. I create a button in flash cs4 and click "publish preview -flash" and my button works. I save my file and click "publish preview - flash" again, my button doesn't work anymore.??I'm using Flash CS4 on an IBM compatible.
the flash autoformat destroys my code... And i use it all the time .. my switch and for statements doesnt work anymore after autoformat, it adds ';' where it shouldnt..
I just downloaded Flash CS5 for mac which installed without any errors. However, when I first launched the software I am getting the following error: The following panel layout is missing or could not be read: /users/rob/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Flash CS5.5/en_US/Configuration/Workspace/Essentials.xml The application will not have a correct layout. load one from Windows ->Workspace Once past this message none of the panels load.
i was trying to make a movie clip visible (it starts invisible), than invisible again. It gets visible, but i could't make it turn invisible again! Same thing happened with buttonMode propertie. I applied both only for movieClips and buttons, have no idea what is happening.
i am trying to review flash for our game thesis in school. i am trying to read a pdf file about flash and i am trying to do the examples listed in the notes.but i can't find the location of the project panel. Well i know where it lies if i used my own laptop with the prescribe flash in it. (FYI, i am using the company's installed flash in my assigned computer. i am an ojt here and since i finished their project early, i dont do much here anymore) so as pass time, i study flash for our thesis (my boss doesn't mind. He believed learning is good)The flash installed here i thinks is a bit old version. and honestly, i can't apply what i am learning since the setup is way different.So does anyone knows where the project panel is located? or if it is close, where can i open it? The company is using a Macromedia Flash MX by the way,
I cant "center" my project, like you can see its "fixed" (yellow lines) in the left side and I cant see "invisible" part of project... (area around the project). how can I move my project so I can see the not-project area around the project. (picture 2).

I have 10 buttons for various pages on a website I am building. I am only dealing with the first 2 buttons so far: home and about (laborLaw). On my about page, I wanted to have buttons to navigate to another frame where the viewer can Read More Details. In order to get my button to work, I had to type about_mc. before the event listener of that button. Here's the code that worked.

So I am now able to navigate to frames from buttons inside the mc. My next task was to build a close button to navigate back to the about page from the "Read More Details" page on a 101. Here's the code I used on frame 101:

That worked great BUT, once I navigate BACK to the about page using the closeLabor1 button, I am no longer able to navigate to any other button such as the home button. Here's a video showing exactly what happens. [URL]
Has there been an update this weekend thats broke masking I have tried to gradient mask an object both by using a vector mask and a png mask. NONE OF THEM WORK! Last week it woeked - and nooene else here at my job can get it to work either.Gradient masks are just shows by a square. No way of of getting smooth edges (gradients on a masked object anymore).
So I'm creating an AS3 doc with a lot of jpegs and pngs. I'm really new to flash and the last swf I made was 5.6mb, way too big from what I read. But I haven't been able to figure out how to avoid this...I can't decrease the images sizes anymore for quality's sake. Can I store the images externally so that only the ones needed for that scene load at that time?
I drew my log in flash and made it a movie clip but when I try to use the filter in properties panel the shadow comes out the color of the logo and the bevels don't seem to work
I made an AS3 animation with Flash. The SWF work perfectly playing directly in the Flash Player.If I read the SWF file in a browser, interactions like "onRollOver" or "onEnterFrame" doesn't work anymore.
I am writing code to order the tab on multiple tags like "img","Panel","LinkButton",...and pie charts. when I run my flash program, the tab indexing does not work at all. it just works on pie chart and "link button" tags, not on "img","Panel","Group" tags. I also have tried to "enable tab" on those fields , but no help.on the other hand when I disable tab on the pie chart,and link button, still the tab is enabled.
Trying to recode a scrolling thumbnail panel I found as an example of the web into AS3 mostly for educational purposes but getting stuck in a couple of places. The panel works but my problems are:
1) lower boundary doesn't work, panel continues to scroll into infinity.
2) as it is written, the mouse event that activates the scrolling is MOUSE_MOVE, which is kind of a pain as the scrolling is kind of "jerky", I have tried to make it an MOUSE_OVER event, but I think it may be conflicting with the prior MOUSE_OVER event.[code]
I'm having a hell of a time trying to get a custom mask to work on a project I'm creating.
The mask I'm trying to use is applied as a pixel mask on a layer in the photoshop doc I'm working off, but I can't seem to figure out the proper way to get that layer mask imported into flash, to then compile into my .swc and be called from actionscript. (I'm coding in Flex)
Whats the proper workflow for getting a pixel mask imported from photoshop so that when I call:
container.mask = myMask;
It'll show up as the shape I want, and not just a square box the size of my shape?
Is there a way to duplicate the project and work on the copy? It's critical that I don't screw-up the original. But, I'd like to make major changes to the copy. I tried making a copy of the project and renaming it. But, when I try to import the copy into Flex Builder, it says: "A project with the same name already exists in your workspace. Rename or delete the existing project." -- even though I renamed the project file and the main mxml file. Unfortunately, I don't have a subversion program set-up, and I think that it will be a hassle to do so. Is there an easy way to work on a copy of a project?

This should display in the dynamic field with a loop and fast (less than a second) and there should be a start/stop and a reset button on the interface to control the same.
This is a pretty odd situation I have here. I have used a piece of code to interact with a backend SOAP service for several months - it works fine. I tried it out in a different project (first as an swc library and then just by cutting and pasting) and it just doesnt work.If I try the exact same code in the original flex project, connecting to the same backend service, everything works fine. In the new project, I can call operations that take simple document-literal wrappers as params (they have no real parameters) - but if the operation has a complex parameter inside the document literal wrapper - fail on this new project. Here is a sample that would fail:[code]
-Examined the posts in firebug from both projects and can not see a difference (meaning that the code appears to generate the exact same SOAP request in both projects (as one expects)
-I have verified that the requests should work using SOAPui to directly query the web service

trying to make the close button work on this homework project. This app scatters photos on the stage, randomly and at random angles. They are drag and droppable and the clicked photo comes to the fore. Each photo has a close button intended to remove the photo from the stage, this last is what won't work. I know its a common topic, but nothing I've tried has worked so far. onClickCloseBtn is the problem.
I have a map in a panel.When maximizing the panel,the map remain the smaller size.How to make the map growing synchronizely with the Panel? When maximizing the Panel,I added Resize Effects.How to apply Resize effects on the Map when the extent of the map changing? It seems to me that I should dispatch extentChange event when maximizing the panel.
I discovered this while doing some programmatic panel resizing:Components in a spark Panel will still be visible when their location is outside the physical Panel boundaries. This does not happen with the mx Panel.unning Flex 4.1 on Windows 7I tried putting mx and spark controls in the spark Panel, and they both appear outside of the boundaries. Note this doesn't happen with the mx Panel. What am I missing to make the spark behave like the mxSample Code:
I'm trying to use the Profiler for the first time so I don't know much about it. But it doesn't seem to work.I run my project under profiler, it says it is running, but no window shows up. Nothing. I can see the project's icon down there but I see no window at all.Can this be cause by the fact that I'm using Flex 4.5? You can the app in the dock and it shows its live objects, but I don't see the apps' window and cannot interact with it. The app is just a simple 400x400 window with some black shapes in it.
