I want to use lightbox to display Flash video player.I would like to have lightbox load a page that has SWFObject code for displaying the Flash content. This page with the Flash content and SWFObject will have certain paramters and vars Does anyone know of an example or tutoral for doing this?

View 1 RepliesI created a scrollpane in as3 and set its source to another object, which contains several rows of icons. The scrollbar in the scrollpane is getting the right length, which means the object was loaded as expected, but the contant is not showing correctly.
I created a Thumbnail class for this file to load and make each individual thumbnail. Here is my code, the red text is where each thumbnail is loaded:

I've been asked to incorporate a cover flow into a project I'm working on. Although there are many components available I've been asked for it to loop round i.e. the slideshow has no left and right end, when the last item in the XML is reached it seamlessly keeps scrolling by going back to the start of the array. Does anyone know of a coverflow component with this function?
View 2 RepliesI have been working with this script for a few days now and have gotten to a near completed point, but I can't seem to script the final step. I have an xml file that is being parsed into my .fla file. There are 3 buttons which are dynamically created based on a tag called <navItem>. The function 'displayContent' should be displaying the appropriate chunk of xml in various text boxes, but instead, it only displays the last chunk (the 3rd chunk) no matter which button I click on. View 13 RepliesI've made a gallery slideshow before but wasn't as intuitive looking back at it now and I want to start fresh on this new project. I would like to convert a jQuery lightbox style gallery into a flash XML based AS3 image gallery with categories. I don't want to code the FLA, I want separate AS files.
This is a school project for my website. I would use jQuery and I have more experience with it but this project needs a flash component. I'm just not sure where to start and looking for some advice on how and where I could find resources. I want it to be minimal as I can make it;
- 8 thumbnails to a "page/section" with more flowed into page 2 or 3 etc. (or a srcoller)
- a few buttons for categories
- images fading in full size with a description when hovered over and a close button
- preloader (simple bar)
Esentially something like this > http:[url].........works which is using http:[url].... for the thumbnails. That might be ambitious but I'd suffice with a simple fade effect.I've downloaded some galleries out there but most of the code is messy or outdated.http:[url]... this is alright, but all the code is done in the FLA. So I've got a video that is presently working on a page. The SWF is set to call another SWF as well as an FLV video based on a timer. I would like this video to play in a lightbox. I pulled the code to setup a lightbox from here: [URL] I dumped in the code as I saw fit, either it is incorrect, or the lightbox script is unable to handle what I need. I'm thinking a bit of extra Javascript might take care of it? I was also thinking some code in the flash "button" may be able to be created to act as a timer.
The problem I am having is setting up the timer, presently the first video pulls up (rmk_player.swf), but is not calling upon the others. The video should pull up the rmk_player.swf, then the intro.swf, followed by the rmk_590.flv. This all works on the non-lightbox version.

I load multiple SWFs into a single SWF for seamless user navigation and playback. This allows me to have multiple scenes and a single menu from which to jump to them. Now on to the problem...As you can see in my current site, the LoadMovie function works properly when the SWF "loader" sits on an URL>..HTML page opens with an SWF on it, which correctly loads a movie file(s) into it.However, when I put the exact same SWF "loader" file into a prettyPhoto lightbox: URL...(click the Clinical Ink thumbnail to see the lightbox)The first SWF loads fine but it doesn't load the movie into it.I've tried multiple SWFs that also work fine on an HTML page, all with the same result.
View 3 RepliesLong story short, I'm developing a theme template for a blog that enables you to view the posts in blocks. The main part of the post is displayed at first, then the secondary content is displayed over that when you hover over the post block. Everything works fine on a Mac Versions of all major browsers, but start browsing on a PC, and all hell breaks loose when you start trying to display content over Flash Video embeds. The flash element remains visible over the content. It's completely unusable.
From a PC, you can view an example of the problem here: [URL] I'm almost certain this is a bug in the Flash Plugin for Windows, but I was wondering if anyone else had come across this problem before, and if there were any solutions.

I have it working so I can display the first row of content I want but now I need to be able to "loop" through the whole XML file to display all rows.

I have created a custom lightbox that displays a flash file. The app is required to open the jQuery Datepicker above the flash file.
Here is the problem; only the header, the month name and navigation appear over the flash app. Everything else is below it.
I tried the wmode=transparent trick, but it makes the Flash app transparent and you can see below it. Plus, I believe the datepicker is having the same issue, where the month navigator is above flash, and the numbers are below the app.

I installed SWF Tools 6.x-2.5 in Drupal Drupal 6.20. I followed the installation instruction and also setup SWFObject 2 - JavaScript. The status page does not show any error.
The problem that I have is that when I indicate the content with [swf file="MyflashTest.swf"] I always get the message:
You are missing some Flash content
that should appear here! Perhaps your
browser cannot display it, or maybe it
did not initialize correctly
I using apache webserver in my localghost. I tried to open the page with IE and Firefox but I always get the same message
Any idea what do I need to check/set to make flash content appear?

Is it possible to have Flash content from one Iframe appear over the top of content in another Iframe? e.g. as if one wanted to have a drop down menu?I tried exporting an animation beyond movie size, with a windowless transparent setting but that didn't work
View 2 RepliesI am using this tutorial to install lightbox within a flash cs3 as2 document[URL]..I got everything to work, now I am trying to set up the code to load an html page in the lightbox without changing the option to load jpg's as well.
So far I've tried changing the code in flash to say .html instead of .jpg and The lightbox keeps loading without ever finding the file.
i've designed a strip of thumbnails in flash to go in a Wordpress site i'm working on, which when clicked need to open up images and videos using Lightbox 2. (Lightbox is already setup and working.)The problem is that i'm importing the links for each of the thumbnail buttons from a .txt file which works like this:

Im using the Lightbox 2.0 [URL] And a flash movie in the same page. Now ive got this thumbnail slider in the flashmovie with thumbnails loaded from an xml file. As soon as i hit a thumbnail i want the Lightbox to show the full image of the thumbnail.
I've got everything set up and if i test if the Lightbox works with an html link it works perfectly:

I understood the rel attribute refers to both the Lightbox JavaScript and the StyleSheet. But i really dont know how to set the rel attribute in flash.

As extracted from the Lightbox tutorial, lightbox needs an <a href> tag with a rel="lightbox" attribute to be activated.

Flash cs4 was installed and worked fine until lately. I cannot draw, use pen, shape tools, or load any previous pictures created in flash using the actionscript 3.0 new doc create. When I click/drag-- the image is there, but as soon as I unclick the image dissapears. Properties inspector shows that there is content but they are invisible. .fla files that I hve created and saved before open, but page is blank. The weirdest thing is that when I open a new doc using the AS 2.0 selection, everything works fine.I am somewhat coherent in the basic functionality of flash, and have tried the obvious i.e. fill and stroke colors, but I don't remember changing any settings.

View 5 RepliesI had that 'Access denied' error message whenever I tried to access help within Flash CS5 (that's pretty bad). I searched for far too long and found the obscure solution.
During the process I decided it might be safer to access the online help from my browser in the meantime. But with the problem solved I want to switch back to viewing the content through the Flash IDE.
I can't find those preference settings again though
