Does anyone know of the best way to launch an iFrame video box in a lightbox from a Flash banner? I have a shopping cart and need to have the video which is served via iframe from a third party site displayed in a lightbox but can not find anything suitable.

I'm trying to use ExternalInterface.Call to call a JavaScript function to launch a lightbox window. So far I have this:
AS3:
flash.external.ExternalInterface.call("launchLB", "" + aUrl + "");
JavaScript:

I get the alert but I can't get the lightbox window to display. When my as code makes the ExternalInterface call I get what looks like a page refresh and a blank browser window.
I'm searching something similar to the lightbox effect in javascript, but for flash.
I already tried succesfully "flash lightbox v2" (http://blog.alancurtis.it/tag/flash/) but I'm searching something native for flash, without javascript.
I want to use lightbox to display Flash video player.I would like to have lightbox load a page that has SWFObject code for displaying the Flash content. This page with the Flash content and SWFObject will have certain paramters and vars Does anyone know of an example or tutoral for doing this?
View 9 RepliesSo I read through Kirupa's XML/Flash thumbnail gallery tutorial and have since modified some of its actionscripting to display my online design portfolio. How do I make it so that 'LAUNCH PROJECT' is a link? Here is the modified Actionscripting (I have one of each for the 3 sections):

As you can see at the bottom of the actionscript, I added a gotoURL action, hoping that simply by making <launch> read <launch action="gotoURL" variables="http:url...> that it would become a link. I, however, have had no such luck. Perhaps I have to add something more. How do I make it so that <launch></launch> has the ability to link to an URL?
Let's say the Flash doc is set up in the form of a webpage. Then I have 5 buttons on the left. Now, I have another Flash banner at the top of the page.I'd like each button to launch a different animation within that top container upon clicking.I'm having trouble getting the script to work. Someone told me to put the script on the timeline of the actual main webpage - not attach to the buttons (which I find odd) I haven't used ActionScript in years!Oh, and I placed a stop action in the first frame of each animation movie clip so that they won't auto-play when the page gets uploaded to the web.

I would like to convert a jQuery lightbox style gallery into a flash XML based AS3 image gallery with categories. I don't want to code the FLA, I want separate AS files.
This is a school project for my website. I would use jQuery and I have more experience with it but this project needs a flash component. I'm just not sure where to start and looking for some advice on how and where I could find resources. I want it to be minimal as I can make it;
- 8 thumbnails to a "page/section" with more flowed into page 2 or 3 etc. (or a srcoller)
- a few buttons for categories
- images fading in full size with a description when hovered over and a close button
- preloader (simple bar)
Esentially something like this > http:[url].........works which is using http:[url].... for the thumbnails. That might be ambitious but I'd suffice with a simple fade effect.I've downloaded some galleries out there but most of the code is messy or outdated.http:[url]... this is alright, but all the code is done in the FLA. So I've got a video that is presently working on a page. The SWF is set to call another SWF as well as an FLV video based on a timer. I would like this video to play in a lightbox. I pulled the code to setup a lightbox from here: [URL] I dumped in the code as I saw fit, either it is incorrect, or the lightbox script is unable to handle what I need. I'm thinking a bit of extra Javascript might take care of it? I was also thinking some code in the flash "button" may be able to be created to act as a timer.
The problem I am having is setting up the timer, presently the first video pulls up (rmk_player.swf), but is not calling upon the others. The video should pull up the rmk_player.swf, then the intro.swf, followed by the rmk_590.flv. This all works on the non-lightbox version.

I load multiple SWFs into a single SWF for seamless user navigation and playback. This allows me to have multiple scenes and a single menu from which to jump to them. Now on to the problem...As you can see in my current site, the LoadMovie function works properly when the SWF "loader" sits on an URL>..HTML page opens with an SWF on it, which correctly loads a movie file(s) into it.However, when I put the exact same SWF "loader" file into a prettyPhoto lightbox: URL...(click the Clinical Ink thumbnail to see the lightbox)The first SWF loads fine but it doesn't load the movie into it.I've tried multiple SWFs that also work fine on an HTML page, all with the same result.
View 3 RepliesI have a certain set of motion twains that I've successfuly completed, they constantly loop right now (default), and is saved in the SWF file.I'd like to take that finished looping animation, and insert it within another animation (a) that can be played with a play button, and stopped/resetted with a stop button.How do I insert the completed looping animation into the main animation? And is there something special I have to do in the actionscript of the start and stop buttons so that the "inner" looping animation will start and stop with the "outer" main animation?
View 1 RepliesI'm having difficulty debugging an ActionScript 3.0 project.When set to ActionScript 2.0, I'm able to debug just fine, but I'd like to use some 3.0 functionality. However, when choosing Debug > Debug Movie, the debugger launches (or at least the empty AS 3.0 debugger panels are displayed), but I receive the message "Debugger launch failed. Debug session will terminate.". Click OK and the debugger closes.

View 1 RepliesI'm currently on a Windows 7 64bits system and I've got this unsolved problem of "Error initializing Java Runtime Environment. You may need to reinstall Flash" pop-up at Flash CS5 launch. This error (apparently relied to AS3 compiling machine) also appears during SWF compilation (so the compilation is bugged and the SWF is unusable) I've googled it and tried every piece of answer but none of them worked :
- Re-install Flash or Java (32 & 64 bits)
- Delete CLASSPATH in environment variables
- Reduce (or raise ?!) -Xmx128M environment variable
- Launch application with XP SP3 compatibility
Is anyone here had the same problem and succeed to pass through in any kind of way
I have created a custom lightbox that displays a flash file. The app is required to open the jQuery Datepicker above the flash file.
Here is the problem; only the header, the month name and navigation appear over the flash app. Everything else is below it.
I tried the wmode=transparent trick, but it makes the Flash app transparent and you can see below it. Plus, I believe the datepicker is having the same issue, where the month navigator is above flash, and the numbers are below the app.

View 1 RepliesI am using this tutorial to install lightbox within a flash cs3 as2 document[URL]..I got everything to work, now I am trying to set up the code to load an html page in the lightbox without changing the option to load jpg's as well.
So far I've tried changing the code in flash to say .html instead of .jpg and The lightbox keeps loading without ever finding the file.
i've designed a strip of thumbnails in flash to go in a Wordpress site i'm working on, which when clicked need to open up images and videos using Lightbox 2. (Lightbox is already setup and working.)The problem is that i'm importing the links for each of the thumbnail buttons from a .txt file which works like this:

Im using the Lightbox 2.0 [URL] And a flash movie in the same page. Now ive got this thumbnail slider in the flashmovie with thumbnails loaded from an xml file. As soon as i hit a thumbnail i want the Lightbox to show the full image of the thumbnail.
I've got everything set up and if i test if the Lightbox works with an html link it works perfectly:

I understood the rel attribute refers to both the Lightbox JavaScript and the StyleSheet. But i really dont know how to set the rel attribute in flash.

As extracted from the Lightbox tutorial, lightbox needs an <a href> tag with a rel="lightbox" attribute to be activated.

ok lets say you create a button that when held down play an animation of 20 frames if realsed it goes to frame one and stops if held down it plays out this animation. for the topic lets say you have a fire animation and you want the fire to apear and if the user hold its down the animation reaches the end of the time line and loops back and plays the last 5 frames of the animation and as soon as it is let go it goes to and stops at frame one. Well i know how to make a button that when held down plays out an animation. And i know how to say when released goes to and stops at frame one. What i dont know how to do is to loop the fire at the last 5 or 6 frames so the user can hold it down all day long and play out that animation.
