I created a flash banner, put it in to my server and don't know how to launch banner only one time then i come in to my website. It's lauching every time then i refreshing website or clicking menu items.

Once loaded they are fine, but if browser's cache is cleared, no go. I have de-compiled the SWF and checked out the library, but really have no idea in regards to Flash files and their construction as to what is or isn't an issue.

View 0 RepliesIn each individual .fla file, it calls in various external .swf files. On one of the .swf files is only audio that loads when the user plays the movie. When they go back to the main menu and select that particular flash movie or section of the website again, the .swf file triggers and plays the audio again. Basically, I do not want that audio to play each time they re-enter that section of the website or I do not want that .swf file to reload if it already has been loaded during that session.Currently I have the following, but it is not working. The .swf file with the audio still loads every time:

My project is creating the SWF and container HTML page as expected, but fails to load the browser.
Below I have a counter program. the counter starts running once i open the swf file. Now I need to place a button where i can get the static session time like say 00:01:50 in a text box telling " You have been logged for+time+time. I dont have any idea how i can get the locked timer. The timer goes on running. I want the static time to be displayed when i click on the exit button too. Because exit button opens a page where this time will be displayed, so the user knows how long he has spent on my swf.

how to open a PDF in Flash CS5 that will launch into a popup browser window. In CS3/CS4 I used the "geturl" command and it worked perfect. In CS5, the geturl command always wants to open a url (ex. [URL]) instead of a local file on my drive. Is there any way around this to make it work like the older versions of Flash? Basically stop it from trying to launch the [URL]?

So if I ran it now it would be 1.2.129, then if i ran it again it would be 1.2.130

View 4 RepliesI've got an animated banner for my site which I've grown quite attached to. It's a scene of the sky with the Title of my site on it and there are clouds that move constantly across it.Now the tricky part and part that I think might be freezing up the browser (firefox) is that the background changes depending on your computers time.So if you visit my site and the time is past 6:00PM, the day background will change to night.It's not an instant change though. You actually have to refresh to get it to change. Anyway, if I let the site/banner sit in my browser as either the active tab or the non-active tab for at least 10 minutes, the whole browser will freeze up. The only way to stop it from freezing up is to close it and restart it.I don't know what I did wrong, but I was hoping you guys could tell me. The file size is not that big (262kb). The images were converted from .jpg to vector, so I can't see why it'd be too graphic intensive. Basically I'd just like to be able to run it at the current resolution and quality, but not have it crash people's browsers.

However, when choosing Debug > Debug Movie, the debugger launches (or at least the empty AS 3.0 debugger panels are displayed), but I receive the message "Debugger launch failed. Debug session will terminate.". Click OK and the debugger closes.

I want to have a banner with text. I want to be able to edit the text on the banner. When I edit the text, I want the new text to display instantaneously, for everyone who is viewing the banner. They don't need to refresh or anything; the banner changes as soon as I edit it.
View 8 RepliesI'm currently on a Windows 7 64bits system and I've got this unsolved problem of "Error initializing Java Runtime Environment. You may need to reinstall Flash" pop-up at Flash CS5 launch. This error (apparently relied to AS3 compiling machine) also appears during SWF compilation (so the compilation is bugged and the SWF is unusable) I've googled it and tried every piece of answer but none of them worked :
- Re-install Flash or Java (32 & 64 bits)
- Delete CLASSPATH in environment variables
- Reduce (or raise ?!) -Xmx128M environment variable
- Launch application with XP SP3 compatibility
Is anyone here had the same problem and succeed to pass through in any kind of way
So I read through Kirupa's XML/Flash thumbnail gallery tutorial and have since modified some of its actionscripting to display my online design portfolio. How do I make it so that 'LAUNCH PROJECT' is a link? Here is the modified Actionscripting (I have one of each for the 3 sections):

As you can see at the bottom of the actionscript, I added a gotoURL action, hoping that simply by making <launch> read <launch action="gotoURL" variables="http:url...> that it would become a link. I, however, have had no such luck. Perhaps I have to add something more. How do I make it so that <launch></launch> has the ability to link to an URL?
I have a banner ad that cycles back and forth between two ads, and am trying to set it up so that when the first ad is up (5 seconds or so) and the viewer clicks on it, it goes to one URL, and when it changes to the second ad and the viewer clicks, it takes them to a different URL.
