My flash banner is a sliding show with navigation made in AS3.I've checked it after uploading in internet explorer, firefox, chrome and safari and i tworked fine. My colleague checked it on his pc in internet explorer and he couldn't see it at allIs there any script, which can remove blocking or tell the user to do it or update th ebrowser.

View 5 RepliesWe have several small websites, some with limited php and some with small mysql databases and we are planning on running Flash Media Server as well all on one RedHat server. I have installed the FMS and apache as per default installation and all is working ok I see the sample videos and have added some of my own videos. I have added some content under /opt/adobe/fms/webroot and this appears ok.
I have 2 flat sites called mysite1 and mysite2
Apache is installed as the default install on linux under /opt/adobe/fms/Apache2.2.

I have the following in my httpd.conf file and this seems to work ok for the virtual hosts in apache as I can see these sites

But when I go to look at a php page all I saw was the php text. So for example I go to [URL] page appears fine, when I go to [URL] all I see is the php text. I looked at the php.conf file from another server and I noticed that it used modules/libphp5.which is not available on this copy of Apache so I am not sure what I need to do to get php running on the server.

View 5 RepliesI've got an animated banner for my site which I've grown quite attached to. It's a scene of the sky with the Title of my site on it and there are clouds that move constantly across it.Now the tricky part and part that I think might be freezing up the browser (firefox) is that the background changes depending on your computers time.So if you visit my site and the time is past 6:00PM, the day background will change to night.It's not an instant change though. You actually have to refresh to get it to change. Anyway, if I let the site/banner sit in my browser as either the active tab or the non-active tab for at least 10 minutes, the whole browser will freeze up. The only way to stop it from freezing up is to close it and restart it.I don't know what I did wrong, but I was hoping you guys could tell me. The file size is not that big (262kb). The images were converted from .jpg to vector, so I can't see why it'd be too graphic intensive. Basically I'd just like to be able to run it at the current resolution and quality, but not have it crash people's browsers.

View 1 RepliesI have a flash file that is in a div that is hidden when the page is loaded with the css property display:none. The div with the flash content is then shown at a later stage through javascript.
When will the flash file load? Ideally, I only want it to load when the div is shown.
I'm using jwplayer in html tabs in IE with jqery showing and hiding them (via style:hidden;) When I hide a tab in IE and then show it again the plays video area goes blank (you can still hear sound and play/pause the video). Does anyone know why this is happening or have a way to fix it.

in Flash CS4 I created two FLA file.
In the First File:
- I draw a shape;
- I convert it to a MovieClip;
- I link a MyClip class with a simple trace in the constructor;
- I export the whole file as MyClip.SWC;
In the Second File:
- I go to Edit > Preferences > ActionScript > ActionScript 3 settings and I add
-in the Library Path- the file MyClip.SWC;
- on the first frame of this swf I write var myClip:MyClip = new MyClip(); addChild(myClip);
I don't know what I'm doing wrong but when I compile (export swf) the class gets loaded (I see the trace in the output window) BUT I can't see the graphics associated to MyClip. It seems MyClip.SWC only contains the code of that clip.
I have a movieclip AAA(W:550xH:1200) placed on the stage (W:550xH:400). Inside of the movieclip, there are many other moveclips. I like to implement this result: When I scroll(Y-axis) the movieclip AAA to a position, the moveclips inside of AAA will fade in, and the other movieclips out side of the stage will fade out.
View 4 RepliesI'm working on a flash website which is published as a 100% x100% with no scale but I want to add a menu wich has to been shown always at the left of the screen. At home I've got a resolution of 1024x768 but on my work 1920 x 1200. In both cases I like to see the menu in left. Because i like to design some sort of paper strips wich are only visible for like a bit. On a mouseover it will be totally visible. Do I need to add some actionscript with a screensize detection and then some code with _y _x and stuff to place it or do I need to change the settings for the html publish? View 5 RepliesI have several jpg files in small sizes inside a photogallery in my Flash presentation and wish to have them displayed - if required - individually outside of Flash as well, i.e. when people will click on a particular jpg, a new Tab will open and a full size jpg will be streamed there, no matter how large in size, no matter whether small or large in screen dimensions, etc. The user will remain inside my Flash program and continue looking through other jpgs. I want it to start out with 0 alpha and i want it to fade in to 100 alpha. However, I want to do this using Actionscript while I'm EASING the movie clip. I'm trying to NOT use the timeline and do automated tweens for this function. If I combine them, it compliles but the output gets all messed up.
2) The quality of the text shown as the movie clip is not the same as how it looks in FLASH. I jacked up the quality of the output to 100% and it's still the same. any reason why?
I am building a banner ad and I am using Flash CS4. I need it so when someone clicks the banner it takes them to the page in a new window. Its just a a simple URL and I keep getting syntax errors now and I dont know how to do this properly. I have tried these methods.

That's NOT what I am trying to do here in reality (i.e., no,I am not trying to spam other people's chat rooms or anything)but just an illustration of a similar situation.I can include in it whatever widget or hack that may be necessary.The reason why this problem is arising for me is that AFAIK the SDK that is providing me the data I want cannot be directly accessed from Flash, so I need a way to pipe the data from a regular app into Flash. can I have the Flash app interact with other apps through localhost IP? Or are there draconian restrictions on which server Flash in browser can and cannot interact?

View 2 Replies I have a PHP mailer form on my site which needs to be published in action script2 to work, but I also have a script set up to open browser windows of a certain size & location which needs actionscript 1 to work? The PHP mailer form has a "Name" field, "Email" field & "Message" field, theses can all be reset with a button. The button clears off any text in the 3 boxes to wipe them clean. The script on the reset button is:

This works fine with section script 2 but not with as1. Does anyone know of a script that resets the .text field on as1 Alternatively is there any way of opening browser windows from a flash movie with browser win controls, eg. centre win, no scrollbars.

Loading progress for thumbnails works alright, although I wanted to have also a loading bar when loading images.

I'm trying to write my flex application so that it restores the user's settings when it starts up. The application has 3 data grids (only one is visible [on screen] at any time) and I simply save the state of the grids if the user ever does any resize events.Saving the state works perfectly, the problem comes when restoring. It seems that only the visible data grid gets restored properly. On all the other grids, the widths are all wrong and do not match the settings I restored from.
The problem is that, when the application starts, the data grids are not sized correctly. Each data grid takes up the full screen, but initially they are only given a very small size (ie. 200 width).Is there some way to force the data grid to resize properly when it is created? Or is it possible to know when the data grid is "maximized" I don't want to hook up to the resize event - if possible - because I would get that quite frequently, and I only want to restore the settings once.Here's the code I'm using to restore the column widths:

The settings are saved into a database (the flex proejct is connected to JBoss). I simply save a CSV type thing with the column's name and it's width. I can't put my resize stuff in the creationComplete handler because I end up with the same problem. The grid's size is like 50 right after it's created (it should be like 1000, 100% of the page width) -- and then I go to set the sizes of the columns (which are obviously > 50) and the resize does nothing
