ActionScript 2.0 :: Load A Lightbox Gallery From Within A Flash .swf?
Feb 6, 2009
want to load a lightbox gallery from within a flash .swf i no its possible because iv seen it done many times, and iv tried every tutorial on the net, most of which say the same thing, which I have done and it still doesnt work.So far I have created a javascript delegate which turns the flash command getURL into an anchor tag containing a rel="" attribute. Here is my javascript:
Code:
<script type="text/javascript">
function LightboxDelegate(url,caption) {
var objLink = document.createElement('a');
[code]...
I have then used a flash button to call the javascript function, in theory this should load my lightbox, however all that happens is the flash swf disappears and no lightbox overlay or image appears. I no that fksh objects do disappear when lightbox loads, however mine doesnt load. My ActionScipt on the flash button is as so:
Actionscript Code:
on (release) {getURL("javascript:LightboxDelegate('1.jpg','caption1')", "_self")}

I've made a gallery slideshow before but wasn't as intuitive looking back at it now and I want to start fresh on this new project. I would like to convert a jQuery lightbox style gallery into a flash XML based AS3 image gallery with categories. I don't want to code the FLA, I want separate AS files.
This is a school project for my website. I would use jQuery and I have more experience with it but this project needs a flash component. I'm just not sure where to start and looking for some advice on how and where I could find resources. I want it to be minimal as I can make it;
- 8 thumbnails to a "page/section" with more flowed into page 2 or 3 etc. (or a srcoller)
- a few buttons for categories
- images fading in full size with a description when hovered over and a close button
- preloader (simple bar)
Esentially something like this > http:[url].........works which is using http:[url].... for the thumbnails. That might be ambitious but I'd suffice with a simple fade effect.I've downloaded some galleries out there but most of the code is messy or outdated.http:[url]... this is alright, but all the code is done in the FLA. I might break it into AS files but it depends.
For a CDROM i'm working on, i'm looking for a method to display images with a lightbox effect. What is the best way to do it with AS3? Is there an AS3 lightbox script available?
I am trying to build an xml photo gallery in flash that will use lightbox for viewing large images. I have successfully built the thumbnail portion.My goal is to insert the swf into an HTML page and launch lightbox from the swf. Here is the code: First I use a Thumbnails class which imports the tweener class
how do I get lightbox to work when I click on the thumbnails? I found this thing called lightboxinjector that seems like it would work, but I am not advanced enough to understand the directions it gives for dynamic use. Or is there a lightbox clone that will work for this?
I have this thumbnail gallery that loads from an a simple XML. When a tumbnail is clicked its larger image loads into an UiLoader....
What i am trying 2 do is 2 show the larger image using a lightbox when a tumbnail is clicked (removing the ui loader for good). I have a lightbox that works with flash (when testing movie as well).
I have been trying for a couple days now 2 combine all this but it never works
I'm working on a script that is about finished but I've reached a snag.I'm creating a gallery page, similar to Thickbox or Lightbox.I have thumbnails off to the left and a UILoader on the right.When you click a thumbnail, the image loads on the left.What I'm working on now is that if you hover over the right side of the image you get a NextBtn and on the left you'd get a PrevBtn.The buttons are created and tween in on MOUSE_OVER like they are supposed to. The problem that I'm having is once you MOUSE_DOWN and the next image loads (also working properly) the Tween that is on the Prev/ NextBtns resets to the OUT position until you mouse outside the rollover than back in.Is there any way to make the Tween stay IN until the mouse moves out?[code]
I Managed to insert a photo gallery using lightbox...however, would like to make some changes: 1. Fixed previous and next buttons, been playing around with the code, with no successful result. 2. I have a group of photos, and if I want to enlarge the one I click, I cannot. Whatever photo I click, always the first one of the group appears.
This is the code I have in my html file: HTML Code: <head> <link rel="stylesheet" href="css/lightbox.css" type="text/css" media="screen" /> <script src="js/prototype.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="js/scriptaculous.js?load=effects" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="js/lightbox.js" type="text/javascript"></script> [Code].....
have a question about loading new photos into a already populated image gallery.So I have my gallery set up so first loads my stage pics. What I would now like to do is load different set of images via the click of a button.So for example the loaded gallery already has all thumbs loaded and the user can click on them to view the full size image. next instead of the user having to close this gallery to allow a new gallery to open with a different set of pictures I would like to have a button. This button will unload the existing thumbs from the gallery and load in new ones.
I have made a site in flash and left the gallery page till last.I have found a free gallery online and am trying to load the gallery.swf file from it to the stage of my main file.It works but the file does not play. It will just load the first frame and the images wont come up.the way that I am using the loading function is by: loadMovie("gallery.swf", galleryLoader);
galleryLoader is the instance name of my Loader Component found in Flash 8 component panel.Someone said to add: galleryLoader.content ._lockroot = true;
But it makes the gallery small I need it to an exact size.
I have created a custom lightbox that displays a flash file. The app is required to open the jQuery Datepicker above the flash file.
Here is the problem; only the header, the month name and navigation appear over the flash app. Everything else is below it.
I tried the wmode=transparent trick, but it makes the Flash app transparent and you can see below it. Plus, I believe the datepicker is having the same issue, where the month navigator is above flash, and the numbers are below the app.
I have a flash image gallery that loads images through xml. Images have to be croped for thumbnails. So u have to have two folders, one for the thumbnails an another file for the big size images. I would like to know if there is a way to load only one image ( and not this image's thumbnail too) and with a script or something, to resize this image to get the thumbnail. To make my self clearer here is the xml code:
image../gallery_flash/imageGallery/images/watches/i1005.jpg image thumb../gallery_flash/imageGallery/thumbs/watches/i1005.jpg thumb
(For some reason it doesnt show the xml right...) I dont want to have the line (thumb>../gallery_flash.), but only load one image and get the thumbnail also.
I am making a site with a scrolling photo gallery. The site is located at [URL]I have a scrolling thumbnail gallery that is perfect for me. I am happy with it with one exception. I used the loadmovie function to make it and for some reason it takes a long time on slower internet for the movie to initially load. What i would like to do is have the movie open up fairly fast and the individual pictures can load once they are clicked. I want to use xml however i don't know how to do it.
I would like to keep the same setup on my photo page but i want to use xml because i think it would be better on loading. I am interested in this type of gallery. [URL] I found this online and put it on my server. I love this gallery I just want these effects and xml layout in my gallery. I dont even have to have the cool fade effects i just need the site to load faster and the pictures to load individually.
I am using this tutorial to install lightbox within a flash cs3 as2 document[URL]..I got everything to work, now I am trying to set up the code to load an html page in the lightbox without changing the option to load jpg's as well.
So far I've tried changing the code in flash to say .html instead of .jpg and The lightbox keeps loading without ever finding the file.
i've designed a strip of thumbnails in flash to go in a Wordpress site i'm working on, which when clicked need to open up images and videos using Lightbox 2. (Lightbox is already setup and working.)The problem is that i'm importing the links for each of the thumbnail buttons from a .txt file which works like this:
Code: getURL(_root.link1, "_blank");
Text file:
[URL]
This at present just opens the image in a new window, how can i make this work with Lightbox?[URL]
I'm searching something similar to the lightbox effect in javascript, but for flash.
I already tried succesfully "flash lightbox v2" (http://blog.alancurtis.it/tag/flash/) but I'm searching something native for flash, without javascript.
Im using the Lightbox 2.0 [URL] And a flash movie in the same page. Now ive got this thumbnail slider in the flashmovie with thumbnails loaded from an xml file. As soon as i hit a thumbnail i want the Lightbox to show the full image of the thumbnail.
I've got everything set up and if i test if the Lightbox works with an html link it works perfectly:
HTML Code: <a href = "path/to/image.jpg" rel="lightbox" title="my Title">Lightbox test</a>
Now my question is how do I call the same action in AS?
I understood the rel attribute refers to both the Lightbox JavaScript and the StyleSheet. But i really dont know how to set the rel attribute in flash.
[URL] For reasons unknown to me, the xml gallery on the page above won't load in any of the images in Firefox. However it does work in IE7, as well as locally in Firefox, Safari and Opera. I have tried removing the whole site and re-uploading it, as well as updating the individual files separately but I still seem to have the same problem.
I am developing a site and want to use http:[url]... within it. I also want to use that gallery from within my own Flash movie using loadMovie.I have tried a couple of ways to load variables into the movie but just cant seem to get it to work.load the Flash Gallery into a Flash movie.
I want to use lightbox to display Flash video player.I would like to have lightbox load a page that has SWFObject code for displaying the Flash content. This page with the Flash content and SWFObject will have certain paramters and vars Does anyone know of an example or tutoral for doing this?
Does anyone know of the best way to launch an iFrame video box in a lightbox from a Flash banner? I have a shopping cart and need to have the video which is served via iframe from a third party site displayed in a lightbox but can not find anything suitable.
I am building a web site for a friend.. Does anyone know if it is possible to open lightbox image gallery from a flash button? I would like to have a situation where the user can press one button and lightbox pops up with multiple pictures in that popup
