Is there anyway to use ActionScript (and/or Flashvars) to tell a video page to begin with the Mute button toggled to off? We are creating a page for multiple-languages, and the client wants the sound to begin muted. I have yet to figure out what kind of variable is used by muteButton in the built in skin, whether its a boolean with true/false or what.

The only problem I have is that when the mute button is pressed, the current song is mute(s.setVolume(0)), but when the next song comes up, the mute button is not in mute state(Volume not set to 0). I'm trying to implement a simple NetStream video player with Progressive Video, but for some reason the video is taking about 12-13 seconds to begin buffering...I don't get it. If you check this link, you can see the buffer progress, you can see that it sits at 0 for >10s, until finally starting to buffer, at which point it finishes very quickly. I have a movie with two tabs that are both in the unclicked state. However, I'd like the movie to default begin with tab one already pressed down. I'm also using the hash variable to determine between both tabs (so they both don't stay clicked at the same time). [URL]

Does anyone how Youtube accomplishes this? I would like to know if it's possible to keep the flash state of a site constant while moving from page to page on a site.It doesn't seem as if the flash is reloading, so I don't think that they are just saving cookies for the current video time and starting the video at that point when they refresh.I would assume that they're using ajax, but the application of this feature is really clean. The URL gets correctly changed to the users' profile page's URL. The back button still works as it should. (I can press back and forward between video page and user profile page and the video continues going clean and never drops.)

I can understand if this would be a security issue but my flash does have a user-initiated mode which takes over the screen and I was hoping this might be an exception where it's clear it has full priority for the user.

The background music is set as per TEMPLATE that I got. I would like to add a quicktime movie to the website, under the page titled "TRAILER" - and have tried to do so myself by adding the QUICKTIME to the project through another SWF that I got elsewhere (a different 'template' so to speak).

I'd like to be able to stop the background music when the viewer visits the TRAILER page of the site, as that is when the trailer starts to play. The music can stop abruptly, that is fine.
I'd like for the music to continue to play (either from the start, or where it was stopped) when any other pages are visited after watching of the trailer.

I have a small problem I want to mute the music when a person clicks on the video page so they dont have to manually click the speaker to shut the sound off to hear the video. As well when they leave the page I want the music to continue playing. The music does not have to start over again, I just want it to mute while on the video page.
I tried using this: SoundMixer.soundTransform = new SoundTransform(0);
But it even mutes the video sound.
And I tried this: SoundMixer.stopAll();
It does kill off the background music, but I dont know how to turn on the music again when you leave the video page.
I prefer to use: SoundMixer.soundTransform = new SoundTransform(0); as it is easier to work with and you can adjust the volume as you like.

Recently i have visited so many video enriched flash site like this one [URL] Most of them shows video in full size. I downloaded the video using FF plugin. Video framesize is very small compared to the stage size. When i tried to add video and resize the video acoording to the page size , it slows the browser. I tried to embed the flv inside an swf and loaded the swf using normal loader and plyed it.. but the quallity and performance comapred to these site is very low..

i have an mp3 that plays as background music to my website with a mute button that fades the music in or out. This works using the code below that i found on another site.My problem is i would like to have this music added to an external swf that i could load into my main site in order to decrease the main site file size. When i load swf however, the music doesnt play. the button appears (which is also in the external swf) so i know that the movie is loading but no sound plays.

I tried using a form of "volume = 0" kind of code but one thing it doesn't mute is the sounds I have in buttons (or symbols). Those seem to continue playing even when the mute is active.So whats a form of code I could use to shut off all volume?If there isn't a solution then what can I do to mute symbol sounds?

I'm creating a movie with an FLVPlayback component. I used the standard Play/Pause, Mute and Volume Bar components supplied with CS5.I have had no problem getting the individual components to work by themselves... the play/pause button plays or pauses, the mute button mutes, and the volume slider controls the volume. But how do I set the volume bar to 0 when the mute button is on, restore the original volume when the mute button is turned off, and turn on/off the mute button if the volume bar is dragged?
