Actionscript 3 :: AdvancedDataGrid: Row Moves To The Bottom Of The ADG When Editing A Value?

I have an AdvancedDataGrid with editable set true on some columns. If i edit one of the values in the ADG, the row moves to the bottom of the node/branch containing the items im currently editing.My AdvancedDataGrid is defined in ActionScript3, and i use a grouping collection to group a flat dataProvider.

My problem is that i often want to edit several cells of one row, and if i edit one of the cells and then click somewhere else, the row moves to the bottom of the ADG. How can i avoid this? I want the row to stay selected and at the same index.

The dataProvider for my grid contains several objects. Some of which have a Number value, and some Boolean values under field 'value' (other fields are used in other columns).I would like to be able to render differently for each data-type, i.e. have a checkBox for booleans, and a label for numbers. Furthermore, I would like to be able to edit these fields differently, unchecking the checkbox for booleans, and using a numericStepper for Numbers.

Just FYI, I decided to go with AdvancedDataGrid, to take advantage of the styleFunction property, nothing more..Tried to used spark-states, which didn't seem to work as I'm using an AdvancedDataGrid. I'm not sure what the problem was.

Flash8 :: Flash Source Editing - Program Moves Very Slow

I am having a problem with a flash source that I am editing: the Flash program moves very slow, it takes about 4-5 seconds to recognize that I have made a click or a selection. It is not all the time like this. When I open the source, it moves ok for a while but after a short time it becomes impossible to edit. When I try to make a selection, edit the library or even write a word in ActionScript, it takes 5 seconds to recognize that I am making this (during this period, the cursor turns to the loading state).

Have you had this problem ? What could cause this ? Could the flash source be damaged ? Or could this be caused by my computer ? I should mention that I do not have any problem at all with my other flash sources. One other thing that I should mention is that the flash source (a site that I am editing for a client) has about 14 mb in file size and the way that it is coded is not exactly efficient, far from it. Could this cause it ? One last thing to mention is that I have about 70 mb of free space on the drive on which I am running the Flash program from. The flash file is a Flash 8 format. I tried editing it using both Flash 8 and Flash CS3 but I have the same problem.

To start things off, I use Flash CS3.moving menu that moves on its own when the mouse moves around it. Like the menu moves up when the mouse moves down.[URL]i have found similar tutorials for what i wanted.. but they are AS2 or older versions of flash..and what i needed is more along the lines of AS3 as that's what my class is learning and using.Does anyone know of an AS3 or anything that works with Flash CS3 tutorial thats what I'm asking?

after multiple Selection in a advanced datagrid, I want to check if the clicked row, was already selected. Anyway my idea below (in the nested if clause I want to check if the newly clicked item's processing data is already in the added Array Collection) is not working, but I assume there must be a better way to differiante if an click was made on a already selected row.

I would like to add new row on the fly (runtime) to my AdvancedDataGrid.I can add it to the data model, but couldn't find a way to make the table render and show the new row.What i am seeking for is to create an effect of expandable item, where clicking on row will show "additional information" (like a drawer) and clicking on row expand button will reveal it's children.I saw examples of this for dataGrid (http:url...), but not for AdavancedDataGrid.Only way I found to do this is to add a new child and use openItem, but this cause the other children to be visible as well.

I've got a subclass of AdvancedDataGrid showing a tree-like data structure. How can I, given the index returned by calculateDropIndex, get the item at that index? After reading through reams of code, it seems like the least terrible way is:

var mouseOverIndex:int = this.calculateDropIndex(event);
this.selectedItem = mouseOverIndex;
var item:* = this.selectedItem;
this.selectedIndex = oldSelectedIndex;

The other option seems to be tinkering around with the iterator property... But, judging by the way I've seen it used, that will get pretty harry pretty quickly too. So, how can I get the item at a particular index in an advanced datagrid without going insane?

Is it possible to use a renderer for for a treecolumn in an advanceddatagrid and still keep the hierarchal functionality? If I use a renderer provider I lose the the arrow for the tree dropdown. I want to keep the tree functionality and change the display of the column.(and not just the folder image)

I've a problem, I'm using an AdvancedDataGrid. It loads about 3000 records with about 20 columns. I constantly get Flex execution timeout because the grid executes a lot inside LayoutManager. How can I make it asyncronousely or faster at all?

I'd like to sort dates according with the datetimes as well(just clicking in the header of the column), there is an examplen of the expected behaviour:

I populate an AdvancedDataGrid with XML Data, this is an example of the XML data I use :

After the user then clicks on a cell, I would like to retrieve the attributes of the node he clicked on.

So, for example, if the user clicks on column 1 of the Item with ID 3, I need to access the attributes of this XML node :

<item text="Item" id="3" isBranch="false" classes="item" col1="1" col2="2" />

So I can find out the ID of this item (in this case 3).

Note that this ID is never displayed in the AdvancedDataGrid.

Flex - AdvancedDataGrid ItemRenderer Ignored W/HierarchicalData?

I am using an AdvancedDataGrid with some hierarchical data. In the first column, I want to indicate whether or not the "name" field is editable by graying out the text for the "name" property of my objects. It's very odd, but when I set the AdvancedDataGridColumn's dataField property to "name", and have it in the first column, it seems to completely ignore my inline ItemRenderer. If I change the dataField property to something else, or change the column ordering so the Name column isn't first, everything suddenly works.

I am using in-built sort functionality provided by AdvancedDatagrid.I have multiple columns and suppose I have 10 rows. All 10 rows have the same data in one column.If I sort on that column, then it sorts and the data in other columns which is different is also being sorted (reshuffled).My requirement is if I am sorting on a column with same data, it should not sort the data in other columns.To understand it better, check the link menioned below URL...In the above link mentioned, if you click on region column, other columns like territory or actual will change the values i.e. the rows gets reshuffled.This should not happen as we are sorting on a column which has same values. Does anybody know how this can be handled in Flex 3 for AdvancedDataGrid.

I have an AdvancedDataGrid where i build the columns dynamically (variable number of columns) in ActionScript, and i want the dataTip to display the column headerText when the user hovers over a cell. Adobe's example dataTipFunction:

But in this case the value is only an AdvancedDataGrid column if the user hovers over a column header? I want the dataTip to always show the headerText for that column. So if i have to use this function, then how do i get the column headerText for a cell? And as i understand the dataTipField i can't really use it to statically equal column.headerText (dataTipField = headerText).

I'd like to implement a custom drag on an AdvancedDataGrid tree structure, which only allows the drag on the branches (not leaves).I'm having much difficultly with this, trying to use the MouseDown event, but not having luck! I have an AdvancedDataGrid that I allow the user to drag/drog the rows to reorder them and also allow them to sort on columns. I want to save the row ordering so that the next time I load up the data, the row ordering is preserved.

I have a bindable array collection to the data grid. The array is a collection of a custom AS object. I tried just using the bindabled array collection I give to the datagrid but the order always stays the same.
