Actionscript 3 :: Flex - Unable To Show Datagrid Inside A TitleWindow?

I'm trying to add a DataGrid inside a spark TitleWindow and for some reason its not showing up correctly.When I put the same code in the main mxml, it comes up correctly. The exact same code shows up weird in the TitleWindow.
I have a tree, which childs dispaching event, if i run the object outside TitleWindow - everything is working fine, but if i encapsulate it inside a TitleWindow as into the source below - the event is not anymore dispached system wide.
In my flex datagird i have a checkbox and a datgrid with seven columns. im populating values in first five column(remaining two column no values) of datgrid by an Arraycollection. now,By clicking the checkbox i want to show all seven column values and if i uncheck five columns has to show... how its possible?? heres my code
I am using a singleton class (popup, which means it doesn't forget the last used variables) which contains a datagrid. I am making various columns visible/invisible, setting the widths and headers in accordance to data received from a database call. Everything works fine except that when I put the breakpoints before and after the point where I change width of columns, I do not see the change in width of datagrid at all! Instead I see some values totally out of sync as widths of datagrid column! However, since it is a singleton class, the next time I call this popup, I see widths which I did set up in last call.
I must be messing up in calling the setWidth() function (which is my custom function which changes the width of datagrid in action script). What should be the point where I should call this function? I tried in creationComplete, show and in the setter of dataprovider.
Is it possible to dynamically show row index for DataGrid rows ?
I have a static ArrayCollection which is set to be DataGrid's data provider and I would like to always have row numbering for each populated row (e.g. in a column called "#").
It might sound like a trivial question but how can I show progress bars, when datagrids and other components that "talk" to web services, update their data providers
I can successfully add a validator on an item in my datagrid, by passing in the particular element in the dataProvider to the validator, but I can't get the red border to show up around the cell if the validation fails. I have stepped through the validator, and confirmed that it is passing back a failure, but I can't figure out why the red error border doesn't show up. I have a feeling its because I am passing the item in my dataProvider as the validator source, rather than the 'cell' item, but I can't find a way to access the cell.

The tasks of the schedule are represented as Gantt Chart, for which I created a itemRenderer inside one of the rows in the DataGrid. The tasks are shown as gantt diagrams, but I would also like to show the connectivity between tasks.

Is there a way to make a Flex 3 Datagrid show only the first node of an arrayCollection, instead of showing all of the arrayCollection's data?[code]...
I have a data grid where users can drag columns and reposition them. But there is a strange requirement that some columns should not be draged to the left of some other column. eg, assume the columns are: name, price , start date, end date, The end date should not be dragged and placed before the start date. i.e. The user can have start date, price , name , end date. name, start date, price , end date. But at no point can end date appear before start date. Is there a way to do this flex? Is there a way to know where the user is trying to drop the column and show error message ?
I have a datagrid with some custom renderrers and I'm just curious how I should approach the ability to freeze and always show the left 3 most columns at all times when scrolling left/right.
I thought that I might have to resort to 2 datagrids, side-by-side, the first showing the 3 columns that I want at all times, and the ability to scroll the rest. Only issue then I guess is linking the row selection to select that row in both and to tie the column sorts together...
Or would it be better to try and take columns 4+ and shrink their width to 0 as a person scrolls right, and then increase it back to the max width as they scroll left? Though that would cause funny issues to happen as the content of the datagrid would get smaller and smaller until you were 100% to the right and the scrollbar would disappear.
I have a datagrid.In this datagrid I have a combobox item editor. This datagrid also has multiple columns where a user inputs numbers in each column. These numbers are then calculated by formula where the sum is posted in the "total" column. In this combobox there are two options for the user to choose from and each option has a different formula for calculating the inputted numbers. What I want is for when a user chooses "option 1" one formula is used to do the calculation, when "option 2" is chosen by the user then formula two is used to the calculation.Here's an example:
Combobox Option 1 (formula 1) is chosen by user = (Column2 - Column1) x column3 = "total" column Combobox Option 2 (formula 2) is chosen by user = (Column1 - Column2) x column3 ="total" column
I realize you would use a conditional such as "if else" statement, but im just not sure how to do it. I've been trying to implement this for a while with no success.
I'm binding an array of items to a data grid using ItemRenderer. I use the data variable to control the bindable data. I also have someComponentVariable that need be inserted into every row but its declared at the component scope, so the data grid doesn't seem to reconize it (compile error). How can I use this variable (someComponentVariable) inside the ItemRenderer?
I am having this problem using the dataGrid in flex. I have a Label in one of the columns of the datagrid, and the label has the truncateToFit property True. But it is not working.
At first I had a static width to Label, and it works in that case. But the problem using that is, when I change the wide of the column, in the output, it does not changes the width of label, and if I make the column width small, the label wont get truncated.
Using 100% width for the label, does not helps either.

I have a DropDownList inside the itemEditor of my DataGrid. There are enough items in the DropDownList to justify scrollbars. You can see the scrollbars, and the mousewheel works fine. If you move the mouse over the scrollbars, they'll change appearance fine (mouseover is working). If you click on them, the DropDownList closes as if you'd clicked elsewhere in the data grid.
I've been experimenting with custom skins hoping to find a way to trap the mouse event, but have been unsuccessful.
I'm trying to remove the tooltip from the checkbox inside an inline itemrenderer in a datagrid but I still get the tooltip box but with nothing in it. I want the tooltip box removed completely.[code]
If I don't specify width and height values for a TitleWindow, it will be resized to fit it's contents when I show it using PopUpManager. But there are moments when some components inside will be resized, like a ComboBox which dataProvider is loaded asynchronously, or another component which was not visible and I'd like to set it's includeInLayout to true. In those moments, I'd like to tell the TitleWindow to resize itself to fit window contents. I've tried calling invalidateSize() and invalidateDisplayList() with no success.

It's possible to drag the popped up TitleWindow and let go of it when its gray title bar lies outside the bounds of the Flex app rectangle,and then the popup cannot be grabbed again.It's also possible to drag the TitleWindow downwards so it becomes completely invisible below the bottom edge of the Flex app rectangle.When the Flex app bounds are less than the full browser window,and the user is working quickly, this chances of this happening increase.Is there a simple setting that will keep this from happening, or must the programmer intercept the behavior during the drag operation?
I have some labels in a title window in my application. When i change locale it gets changed but labels in the titleWindow do not change. When I check the locale chain using resourceManager.localeChain it returns the array of locales and newly selected locale is on the zero index of it
