Flex :: Scrollbars In Dropdownlist Inside DataGrid ItemEditor Not Working

I have a DropDownList inside the itemEditor of my DataGrid. There are enough items in the DropDownList to justify scrollbars. You can see the scrollbars, and the mousewheel works fine. If you move the mouse over the scrollbars, they'll change appearance fine (mouseover is working). If you click on them, the DropDownList closes as if you'd clicked elsewhere in the data grid.
I've been experimenting with custom skins hoping to find a way to trap the mouse event, but have been unsuccessful.
FWIW, this is Flex4, as an AIR app.

I'm trying to use the Spark DropDownList as itemEditor in an AdvancedDataGrid. Howerver, I've stumbled onto two issues:Clicking on a item in the DropDownList changes the selected row in the ADG. You can see this behavior by compiling the code from below and executing the following steps.The value changes from "A" to "C" and Row 3 is the selected row in the ADG. It looks like the mouse click in the DropDownList is also handled by the ADG itself which changes the selected row accordingly. I couldn't figure out a way to prevent this. The expected behavior would be that row 1 is still selected after the DropDownList has been closed.Clicking on the scrollbar of the DropDownList closes the DropDownList. I have a datagrid column as follows:

Basically, this allows for a small 'popup' when the user edits a cell in the datagrid, allowing for more space to type. The problem that I am having is that the datagrid gridlines show through the itemeditor - i.e. the itemeditor is transparent. Is there any way that I can force it to be opaque?

I'm having difficulty figuring out how to add a dropdownlist control to only a single row of a data grid. For example, if I have two rows of data in the grid, I want the top to be the normal text from the data provider, and the second row to be a dropdownlist (bound to an array collection).

I need to display DropDownLists in a column of a DataGrid in my Flex application. Here is what I am doing:
First, I have a item renderer function that creates a custom item renderer, and passes it a property that is an IList that will be used as the dataProvider of the dropDownList:

I have a data grid with a custom item editor that displays a DropDownList component. When I click the scroll bar in the component, it is firing a focus out event on the list, which is causing itemEditEnd to fire. Why the list is not keeping focus, or how to make it keep focus. I'm using Flex 4.

I'm using FlashBuilder 4 and trying to create a dropdownlist that populates a datagrid. The functionality is fine but my data is being chopped up too much. Currently every since "nepName" tag in my XML file is showing up in my dropdownlist (which makes for many duplicates of the same names) and only shows the data associated with that nepName tag. I want each nepName (by name ex. Barnegat Bay National Estuary Program) to display only once in my dropdownlist and populate my datadgrid with ALL the data in the XML file that is associated with that name

The floating elements stop floating on the y axis when javascript resizes the scrollbars.
It seems that when externalinterface calls the resize function that after that then flash uses that value as the Stage.height value.
I need a way for the scrollbars to be forced to accomodate 2000 px worth of content. But still have the elements float within the actual open browser window which could be much smaller than 2000.

My custom item editor opens a titlewindow (too much stuff to show in an inline editor) which obviously steal the focus, so I get a itemeditend event and the datagrid destroy the editor at the wrong (for me) time. I think to have to keep the itemeditor alive until the titlewindow job is done, but how? DataGridEvent reason is "other" and livedocs said preventDefault() can't help.

How do you change the html scrollbar (the one that you see in the far right of your browser) with your own images? I know it's possible because i've seen it before.
P.S.: I am aware of and I know how to change the color of the scrollbar. That is not what's expected. Also i think it's made possible by Javascript.

I have a datagrid.In this datagrid I have a combobox item editor. This datagrid also has multiple columns where a user inputs numbers in each column. These numbers are then calculated by formula where the sum is posted in the "total" column. In this combobox there are two options for the user to choose from and each option has a different formula for calculating the inputted numbers. What I want is for when a user chooses "option 1" one formula is used to do the calculation, when "option 2" is chosen by the user then formula two is used to the calculation.Here's an example:
Combobox Option 1 (formula 1) is chosen by user = (Column2 - Column1) x column3 = "total" column
Combobox Option 2 (formula 2) is chosen by user = (Column1 - Column2) x column3 ="total" column
I realize you would use a conditional such as "if else" statement, but im just not sure how to do it. I've been trying to implement this for a while with no success.

I have a DataGrid, with itemEditor as NumericStepper in a few columns. When a value in the DataGrid is edited, I would like to update several values displayed on the screen, and so want to call a updateValues() function.First, I added this function to itemEditEnd event of the DataGrid, but the function is getting called before the new value is updated into the dataProvider and hence, the values I have in the function are the old values. Is there any other event that is fired after the values are updated into the dataProvider? or am I missing something?Second, I tried putting this function in the change event of each itemEditor (duh!), but then again, the change event is fired, but the values in the dataProvider are the old ones.Is there any way I can make the function updateValues() be called, every time a value is edited AND updated into the dataProvider, because there's where I am taking the values from?

My tweak that I am trying to acoomlish, is to have a custom itemEditor that is a form with two TextInputs and an OK button. For the life of me I can't get that button to trigger the DataGrid's itemEditEnd event where I have some processing before I call destroyItemEditor. I tried dispatching the event myself directly but got a strange error in DataGrid's updateDisplayList saying editedItemPosition was null (editedItemPosition.rowIndex).

When not editing the cell, it shows a centered date as plain text. When editing, it shows a DateField editor. The second example is exactly the same as far as I can tell, other than the fact that it is an AdvancedDataGridColumn. Using that code with an AdvancedDataGrid, when I go into edit mode I can see the text from the normal item renderer behind the DateField editor (between the text input and calendar icon).

I am having this problem using the dataGrid in flex. I have a Label in one of the columns of the datagrid, and the label has the truncateToFit property True. But it is not working.
At first I had a static width to Label, and it works in that case. But the problem using that is, when I change the wide of the column, in the output, it does not changes the width of label, and if I make the column width small, the label wont get truncated.
Using 100% width for the label, does not helps either.
My datagrid code looks like below given code:

So, I have a simple registration form with a datagrid underneath. When you register, your name shows up in the datagrid. It's a list of people who has registered.This all works just like it should when tested locally. Online though, you can only register, but the datagrid won't load the names. It's empty, even though the database has been updated.
