Flex :: DataGrid Lines Showing Through ItemEditor - Opaque?

I have a datagrid column as follows:

And a very simple DgItemEditor:

Basically, this allows for a small 'popup' when the user edits a cell in the datagrid, allowing for more space to type. The problem that I am having is that the datagrid gridlines show through the itemeditor - i.e. the itemeditor is transparent. Is there any way that I can force it to be opaque?
I have a DropDownList inside the itemEditor of my DataGrid. There are enough items in the DropDownList to justify scrollbars. You can see the scrollbars, and the mousewheel works fine. If you move the mouse over the scrollbars, they'll change appearance fine (mouseover is working). If you click on them, the DropDownList closes as if you'd clicked elsewhere in the data grid.
I've been experimenting with custom skins hoping to find a way to trap the mouse event, but have been unsuccessful.
I'm turning to you folks for answers because this really blows my mind... Let me explain:I'm using a slightly modified spark NumericStepper as an item editor in a datagrid. I had to modify the original because for some reason it's values only went up to 10.So i extended NumericStepper like so:
My custom item editor opens a titlewindow (too much stuff to show in an inline editor) which obviously steal the focus, so I get a itemeditend event and the datagrid destroy the editor at the wrong (for me) time. I think to have to keep the itemeditor alive until the titlewindow job is done, but how? DataGridEvent reason is "other" and livedocs said preventDefault() can't help.
I have a DataGrid, with itemEditor as NumericStepper in a few columns. When a value in the DataGrid is edited, I would like to update several values displayed on the screen, and so want to call a updateValues() function.First, I added this function to itemEditEnd event of the DataGrid, but the function is getting called before the new value is updated into the dataProvider and hence, the values I have in the function are the old values. Is there any other event that is fired after the values are updated into the dataProvider? or am I missing something?Second, I tried putting this function in the change event of each itemEditor (duh!), but then again, the change event is fired, but the values in the dataProvider are the old ones.Is there any way I can make the function updateValues() be called, every time a value is edited AND updated into the dataProvider, because there's where I am taking the values from?

My tweak that I am trying to acoomlish, is to have a custom itemEditor that is a form with two TextInputs and an OK button. For the life of me I can't get that button to trigger the DataGrid's itemEditEnd event where I have some processing before I call destroyItemEditor. I tried dispatching the event myself directly but got a strange error in DataGrid's updateDisplayList saying editedItemPosition was null (editedItemPosition.rowIndex).
I'm trying to use the Spark DropDownList as itemEditor in an AdvancedDataGrid. Howerver, I've stumbled onto two issues:Clicking on a item in the DropDownList changes the selected row in the ADG. You can see this behavior by compiling the code from below and executing the following steps.The value changes from "A" to "C" and Row 3 is the selected row in the ADG. It looks like the mouse click in the DropDownList is also handled by the ADG itself which changes the selected row accordingly. I couldn't figure out a way to prevent this. The expected behavior would be that row 1 is still selected after the DropDownList has been closed.Clicking on the scrollbar of the DropDownList closes the DropDownList. When not editing the cell, it shows a centered date as plain text. When editing, it shows a DateField editor. The second example is exactly the same as far as I can tell, other than the fact that it is an AdvancedDataGridColumn. Using that code with an AdvancedDataGrid, when I go into edit mode I can see the text from the normal item renderer behind the DateField editor (between the text input and calendar icon).
Following is the sample code. While I start editing either in optionId column or option column, the other rows of the same column are also get affected and reflecting the same value. But when I am editing in other columns it is working fine... Don't know the reason.
I have a canvas component that I create and add as a child of a parent canvas component. I set the opaqueBackground property for the child component which makes it opaque over the parent component. However, when I add two child components, they are not opaque over each other. How do I set it up so that one child component completely covers up the other child component?

I am working on a problem since a week soon, but I still couldn't make it work as expected. I have a DataGrid which has HBox with a CheckBox an a Label as itemRenderer (see Code below). When I tap in to the Cell the standard itemEditor pops up and lets you enter the content of the label. Thats the standard behavior. I works fine except for 2 problems:
If I enter to much text, the horizontal srollbar pops up, and the cell is filled with that scrollbar. As you see I tried to set the horizontalScrollPolicy to off, but that doesnt work at all... I tried to do that for all the different elements, but the failure is still existent. When I have filled more than one row, there is an other mistake happening. If I tap on a row, the datagrid selects the one below that row. That's only if one line is already selected. If I tap outside the datagrid and then, tap at any row the itemEditor of the right row will show up... Is there anything now wright in the setup of my set data method?
Both have single columns. Selecting one item from Divsions datagrid should display members of that Division in the Members datagrid. But following code has some problem and Members of a particular division do not show up when respective Divsion is clicked.

For poor performance reasons, the DataGrid will cache checkboxes and reuse them for different rows. If you have 50 rows, it won't create 50 checkboxes. It will create as many checkboxes at are visible, plus a few more for padding, and then reuse them as you scroll. This is why you need to explicitly manage their state. How can improve it ? I am attempting to style the headers in a flex datagrid and I keep getting the warning:

What does this mean? I have gone through a bunch of tutorials and none of them have worked. It seems like changing a the colors in a datagrid should be relatively simple.
In my Flex 4.5 mobile app, I have an actionScript item renderer (that derives from Flex's LabelItemRenderer). I want to fit in exactly 2 lines of text, and then truncate the rest. The width and height of the label are fixed and known statically. How can I do this? The StyleableTextField.truncateToFit() method only works for one line of text.
I've set wordWrap = true, so the text now flows into the second line - but I need to truncate the text if it doesn't fit in two lines. I need it to show all the text if there is only one line. (in both cases the label should be vertically middle-aligned in my renderer) I know how to override layoutContents to do sizing and positioning etc of the StyleableTextField. So I'm looking specifically for ideas to implement custom text truncation with the StyleableTextField).
in Flex I have something like that: [code]and dg is ALWAYS pointing at DataGrid (even if dg1 has name DataGrid_test and dg2 = DataGrid_test2) and finally action is made on my first DataGrid (DataGrid_test).[code]and search still points at ColorColumn :/ My problem is really easy- I just want to pass to search different dataGrid on each state.But still I don't understand why it doesn't work. My search function uses algorhitm Boyer-Moor for searching through dataGrid.dataProvider for some text. If it find something then it is pushed into new array and after passing whole dataProvider I colorize rows with searched word.
I'm stumbling my way through designing my first Flex app, using Flex Builder 4 Beta 2. I'm trying to use a ComboBox, but they always seem to have lines around it and I can't figure out how to get rid of them. The ComboBox looks like this: [URL] All I did was drag the ComboBox from the Controls section in the Design section of the UI onto the screen. I haven't changed any settings, no special css, just used the default ComboBox and this is what I get.
can someone please explain to me why i cant write Russian or France or Hebrew or any other utf char when i am embadding my swf with opaque wmode??
is there a way to work around it? i have an HTML script with flash inside it and the text filed in the flash wont except any language other then English everything else is gibberish
