Both have single columns. Selecting one item from Divsions datagrid should display members of that Division in the Members datagrid. But following code has some problem and Members of a particular division do not show up when respective Divsion is clicked.

I see that starting with Flex 4.5, Adobe recommends that we use the spark.components.DataGrid class as an alternative to the mx:dataGrid which I am not at all familiar with or where to start to learn. My Flex datagrid automatically scrolls to the top when I update the dataProvider (ArrayCollection). I do not want this to happen, but I still want all of the objects to update. First, how can I call the init function when the renderer is created? Second, when I set the column's itemRendererFunction="rendererFunction", the app will not launch, a white screen comes up. But when I set itemRenderer="components.AudActionDropDownIR", the app will launch, but of course there is no data in the dropdown list.

I have a flex datagrid. it is bound to an array collection. if the user sorts on column X it works fine. then, if the user causes the array collection to change, the datagrid forgets that it was sorted on column X.what do I need to do to preserve this sort preference so that the new array data will appear sorted by column X?

I have three columns in the datagrid. I don't want the row selection to happen when the user's click falls on the third column of a row.
The row selection should happen only when one of the first two columns is clicked. How do I achieve this? There is a selectionChanging event for the datagrid, but the GridSelectionEvent object received in the handler does not seem to provide any information about the column on which the click happened.

recently, I research for the collection framework, and find LinkedSet(AS3Commons collection framework,it is a good opensource framework) written in ActionScript, but it can't use as dataProvider in ComboBox or DataGrid, because only implements ICollectionView can use as dataProvider. So I want to try if a class implements ICollectionView can work or not. I know Flex has build-in class implements ICollectionView, but I only want to define a class not use build-in class. The class as simple as possible.(can work is enough)
View 1 RepliesI have a Datagrid with an ArrayCollection as DataProvider, the arrayCollection is partially generated by a remoteObject call, the dataprovider seems to works at least until I try to edit the field...By the RemoteObject I only receive an ArrayCollection with the field ip, but the datagrid looks for the fields ip, check and save...If I add/edit this new field it works, but only under particular condition

This code always work in the 3 points, so at the end of the call the ArrayCollection is always filled with the new values, but the datagrid refresh the items only in point #1 and #2.
I am working on a problem since a week soon, but I still couldn't make it work as expected. I have a DataGrid which has HBox with a CheckBox an a Label as itemRenderer (see Code below). When I tap in to the Cell the standard itemEditor pops up and lets you enter the content of the label. Thats the standard behavior. I works fine except for 2 problems:
If I enter to much text, the horizontal srollbar pops up, and the cell is filled with that scrollbar. As you see I tried to set the horizontalScrollPolicy to off, but that doesnt work at all... I tried to do that for all the different elements, but the failure is still existent. When I have filled more than one row, there is an other mistake happening. If I tap on a row, the datagrid selects the one below that row. That's only if one line is already selected. If I tap outside the datagrid and then, tap at any row the itemEditor of the right row will show up... Is there anything now wright in the setup of my set data method?

In a DataGrid, how can I force data() of all itemRenderers on visible rows to be called when I've made an update to the dataProvider.I'n the following the Grid isn't updated after pressing doSomething. For poor performance reasons, the DataGrid will cache checkboxes and reuse them for different rows. If you have 50 rows, it won't create 50 checkboxes. It will create as many checkboxes at are visible, plus a few more for padding, and then reuse them as you scroll. This is why you need to explicitly manage their state. How can improve it ?
