I have a flash file which is basically an animated TV that flicks through designs in my portfolio.I have a button on the TV that when clicked should open a url in the current window.The url is a link to my portfolio page, but as its a vertical scrolling site the url is a boomark #portfolio, can anyone recommend the best way to trigger this link within the smae window?

And i published the animation, i got an html file as well. still now everything is good. i can click the html file and can see the o/p now when am trying to open the same html second time, i need to display a popup mentioning do u want to continue the animation from wher u stoped on clicking yes, it has to start from wher u stopd earlier. if no, start from the beginning of the keyframe..

View 1 RepliesMy CS5 flash crashed when I changed the name of the root folder while it was open. Swf is working fine, but .fla file wont open, I get a "Failed to open document" message. This is a disaser because I've lost two days of work. Is there anything that could be done to fix this problem?

View 1 RepliesI have been working on a project for a week and suddenly it crashed during save (nothing strange had been imported or anything i just saved after moving content around) and now i cant open my file again. I contacted adobe support who claim that since the problem is related to the file this is not their problem, what a load of HORSE ****, who should i contact about this dell if its an FLA FILE!? I have already renamed the file to flash.zip then opened with WinRar and repaired as a new zip file to a different folder (which removes the corrupt content which is document something.xml) then i tried renaming this folder back to flash.fla however the file still does not open.

I am using flash cs3 pro and I get the error "Unexpected file format" when trying to open the file, a friend has flash cs4 and has the same error. Is there something I could do to open this .fla file correctly? Or maybe if someone could try opening it and saving it again for cs3?

View 5 RepliesI've got a 9MB fla file that suddenly doesn't open any more. When I try to open it, it crashes Flash. When I try to open it as a library, it crashes Flash. Someone told me a library object might be corrupted - not good, irreparable. I'm on a Mac and when I try opening the fla file it gives me an "error type 2 occurred." I imported the swf file into a new Flash file, but now it's just a one-layer straight-streaming movie with every frame a completely new, redrawn keyframe. Is there any way to resurrect the original fla file? I've got a Sunday deadline?
View 1 RepliesI am just starting to learn how to use flash. I have made four diffrent fla files, but one of them is not working. Flash crashes when i try to open it, it worked last night. Is there any way to repair it or find out what i have done wrong. Dont want it to hapen again. There is no problem to run the swf file. I have uppdated flash to the latest version 10.0.2.
View 1 RepliesI created an FLA file through Adobe Flash CS4. My problem is, I compressed the file as a .sitx and put it on my server, so that I can use it on another machine. However, on a different machine, using the same version of Flash, it will not open. Flash says:
Failed to open document (FIle Path)
The SWF file can be opened through Flash, just not the FLA.
I think I know the answer to this, but. Is there any way I can open a CS5 file in CS4? A designer I'm working with created some files using her CS5. She's on vacation for 2 weeks (so I can't have her edit or resend the files as CS4) and I just got an email that the client needs a couple tweeks and all I have is CS4. Is there any way (or any program) that can backwards convert a CS5 file?
View 4 RepliesI just taught myself Adobe Flash and created a very intricate file with lots of moving parts. I saved it and then went to improve it. Of course it was taking forever so I got up from the computer to let it do its thing and I accidently knocked out my external harddrive. A lil freaked out I exited out of adobe flash- plugged it back in and went to open my file. However, it wont open now! I've saved it a dozen times after I added each new part but I have nothing now! Is there a way to get it to open? The message that comes up simply says failed to open document.

I have tried this on multiple machines all resulting in the same error message. I have also tried saving the file in CS4 under a new name, did a compact and save and a magic spell. Neither of which had any effect.

i have a circle(movie clip) in library, inside it there is a dynamic text with instance name "namee", and I already manage to make the circles appears (not randomly) but they don't touching each other, but for appearing the name inside a circle, that will be happening to be from a text file, thats something i don't know how to do, i know how to open up files in C/C++ but in flash i know how to load from a text file into a dynamic text with the same variable name of the var in the text file. So the question is, how can I change a Variable, not instance, name of a Dynamic text, or how can I load stuff from a text file into a Variable, not a Text field?

There has to be a listing of their PDF's in the flash program, that when clicked, will open the actual PDF in a separate window. I found one comment in this site to use "GetURL", but found out it is ONLY for HTML. There was mention of setting up the FSCommand to open another application, such as a PDF file, but how? I have the files in the same directory and tried putting the file name in the "GetURL" (the PDF file), but just freezes when trying to open. Also, is there a way they can drag and drop the PDF files to the desktop, that has the listings of the PDF's and save to the hard drive?

View 3 RepliesI have flash as part of the CS3 suite but I never use it, don't know how. However I have a need to convert some flash files to something that can be uploaded to the web, ala YouTube. So naturally I opened a .flv file with Flash and simple went to File->Export hoping (but doubting) it would be that easy. Of course, that did not work. The result was a half second of blank white screen.
Is there a quick and simple way to open a Flash file and convert it/export it as .mov (or some other format for uploading to video sites that don't accept flash files)?
