IDE :: Resizing_Centering Kirupa Tutorial - Source File Won't Open - Get The Message "failed To Open Document"?
Nov 3, 2009
I'm having problems getting the tutorial to work so I decided to look at the source fla. But the Source file won't open on my computer, get the message "failed to open document".
My CS5 flash crashed when I changed the name of the root folder while it was open. Swf is working fine, but .fla file wont open, I get a "Failed to open document" message. This is a disaser because I've lost two days of work. Is there anything that could be done to fix this problem?
I saved my work and a backup. This morning I got the dreadful message "failed to open document" followed by the path to the file. The output panel gave me this message: The following JavaScript error(s) occurred:
In file "/Users/lucilarios/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Flash CS5.5/en_US/Configuration/Javascript/ObjectFindAndSelect.jsfl": Cannot find file /Users/lucilarios/Desktop/Trabajo_Macondo3/ProjectAlgebra09/Tutorials Algebra/Integers/LawsOfAddition/NewProject/AssocLawAdd.fla.
The info on the file size shows 0 bites. Both the file and its backup were corrupted. Are there compatibility issues betweenAdobe CS5.5 Programs and Mac OX Lion? Lion has crashed my computer several times and other programs like Photoshop and Adobe Bridge have also misbehaved.
I'm always having trouble with a fla.file in cs3 professional. Every time i try to reopen the file in flash i get this: failed to open document/users.desktop/jason/social.fla
I was working on my Flash project a few minutes ago and when I tried to save, Flash crashed on me. I reopened Flash and went to open my project back up (I didn't do much more to it so I wasn't unhappy that it crashed while saving), it gave me this output error:[code]Does this mean my file's lost forever? It says it's a JS error, but..I don't have to rebuild this. I've been working on it for ten weeks and it's due in three.I just deleted the "ObjectFind AndSelect.jsfl" file then relaunched Flash. It created a new one, but my file is still failing to load. Only this time, it's not saying it's a JS error.
I have been working on a flash website inside flash CS5 here at school. I have been working for almost 3 hours with no problems and I have made sure to save from time to time. I have saved with no problems. My problem came when I clicked on test movie. As the movie was loading to test the SWF of the website flash crashed and closed out on me. I had just saved before testing so I could have the latest saved. I double click on my flash document to re-open flash and I get a message that says "Failed to open document."
Right after the message it lists the folder where my file is located. I still cannot get past this message and my file is a website I have been working on for over 3 hours now. I needed this for school and I guess if I can't fix it I will have to start from scratch although I had so much work completed. I even tried to open flash first and then go to file open but that did nothing except give me the same error message. Then I looked under recent documents and clicked on the file document and got the same thing.
1. In FMS core logs I see this error "Failed to open log file[URL].. But I check and found the file exists. What can couse this error, do you have any idea? 2. Is there a way to disable logging for an application? 3. In edge logs, Sometimes I encounter the error "Exception while processing message : (Adaptor: _defaultRoot_, VHost: Unknown, App: , Type: 20, ID: 0, B". It seems it has no effect but still it is an error.
I have done hours and hours of work on my flash document today at college and now i am home i just clicked the file and i get a "Failed to open document" box come up.
Used the following code in a real life demo. I clicked the button, SaveAs dialog displayed, I chose to say the file in the Documents folder.Went to open the file, and got a message saying it was in use with another process. Restarted my computer, was now able to open the file. However the file is empty. It should have some text that I put in there - how can text vanish from a file? By simple downloading it.
i have downloaded a flash intro (swf + fla)the swf which i downloaded is working so good but when i open the fla file to edit the source and export it to swf i have many errors, even if i didn't edit any thing (just open it in flash then export it again) i have that errors
Currently I am using SWFDOTNET libray for reading and writing swf file, which supports swf file from version 1 to 7.Is there any other open C# source lib for reading and writing swf flash which supports swf file version 8,9 and 10?
I've made an user login, working with php and MySQL. When the user logs in, he can see all of his details, loaded from a database. Here he can press a button to change this content. After changing it, he needs to press the "save" button to load the new data into the database. But everytime the user presses the save button, it's adding an extra line to the data into the database, which results in an error of displaying the data. Warning: Unknown: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in Unknown on line 0 Fatal error: Unknown: Failed opening required 'google_verify.php' (include_path='.:/usr/local/lib/php') in Unknown on line 0
I trying to close a message box with a okay button inside its movieclip but i keep getting "1119: Access of possibly undefined property btnOk through a reference with static type flash.display:SimpleButton." error message when testing.Below is my code. anyone please help.
Code: //open message box btnPassport.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN, btnPassportClicked); function btnPassportClicked(event:MouseEvent):void {[code]...........
I would like to display a message in flash "we are open" or "we are closed" based upon time. Naturally I can do this for the users local time on their system, but is it possible to work out if their time is different to UK time (GMT) and display those messages accordingly. After all I don't want a user to see a message "we are open" at 1pm their time - they could be in Japan and it'd be about 4am UK time. Is this possible to work out the time difference on any system?
Quick question, has anyone ever come across either a web cam API or an open source alternative that can be easily integrated to a site without having any Flash or ActionScript experience.
I should probably say what I'm trying to do.... The idea is to create a Facebook app that lets friends communicate (and meet new people too) in real time over web cam.
I am looking for an open-source iTunes style media player that I can use as a base for functionality I would like to develop. I am quite keen on Flex/Air, or C# or Java will do for languages.
I'm trying to learn more about flash, and have found a couple of useful sites. However, I'm having trouble working out how to use their source files, and wondered if anyone here might be able to help please.url...I can't work out how to compile it - I know I need the Five3D files (url...), but even when I download that, and then create a .fla file in the same directory, nothing happens.I am probably missing something very obvious, but I can't work out what to do.There is a .fla file, but there is NOTHING in there that links to the .as file - there is no ActionScript at all I can see if the FLA file, that links to the .as file.
I can code things fine myself but I've never used anyone elses code components to build something. I need to make a magazine that has a page fli effect and someone pointed me to Rubens flex book component (I'm assuming I can use it with flash). I've downloaded the zip file but I'm not sure how to actually start making my book. Everything is in different folders, because I assume they all are interlinked and are specificied with their paths within their classes.
I'm thinking I need to make a fla and then a document class and link that to the fla. But what do I put in the document class?
I want to build a community website with videoconferencing functionality integrated. I would prefer to provide this from within the browser, so I'm looking for a Java- or Flash-based solution. Also, it would be nice to spare bandwidth by having the clients stream their audio and video data without using a central server (like the way Skype works, for example). Is there a reasonably mature open-source project that meets these criteria?
I want to create a Flash application but I do not want to pay the $700 for Flash Professional CS5 (neither to pirate it). I have been looking at previous questions here in SO and around the net for hints of free software allowing to develop flash apps.
From my current research, it seems the tools I need are: 1. FlashDevelop or similar to create and compile ActionScript code. 2. Pencil, Synfig or similar to create animation (is it possible to export to fla? 3. ?? to put everything together and compile a swf file.
My question is whether anyone has successfully followed a similar path to build a flash application using only open source. And better yet, any good web site with documentation on how to tackle such a task. I have looked at the Open Source Flash Projects page which contains a comprehensive list of flash related open-source projects and libraries...
