Professional :: Flash5.5 - "failed To Open Document" Error Message?

I saved my work and a backup. This morning I got the dreadful message "failed to open document" followed by the path to the file. The output panel gave me this message: The following JavaScript error(s) occurred:
In file "/Users/lucilarios/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Flash CS5.5/en_US/Configuration/Javascript/ObjectFindAndSelect.jsfl":
Cannot find file /Users/lucilarios/Desktop/Trabajo_Macondo3/ProjectAlgebra09/Tutorials Algebra/Integers/LawsOfAddition/NewProject/AssocLawAdd.fla.
The info on the file size shows 0 bites. Both the file and its backup were corrupted.Are there compatibility issues betweenAdobe CS5.5 Programs and Mac OX Lion? Lion has crashed my computer several times and other programs like Photoshop and Adobe Bridge have also misbehaved.

My CS5 flash crashed when I changed the name of the root folder while it was open. Swf is working fine, but .fla file wont open, I get a "Failed to open document" message. This is a disaser because I've lost two days of work. Is there anything that could be done to fix this problem?

I have been working on a flash website inside flash CS5 here at school. I have been working for almost 3 hours with no problems and I have made sure to save from time to time. I have saved with no problems. My problem came when I clicked on test movie. As the movie was loading to test the SWF of the website flash crashed and closed out on me. I had just saved before testing so I could have the latest saved. I double click on my flash document to re-open flash and I get a message that says "Failed to open document."
Right after the message it lists the folder where my file is located. I still cannot get past this message and my file is a website I have been working on for over 3 hours now. I needed this for school and I guess if I can't fix it I will have to start from scratch although I had so much work completed. I even tried to open flash first and then go to file open but that did nothing except give me the same error message. Then I looked under recent documents and clicked on the file document and got the same thing.

I was working on my Flash project a few minutes ago and when I tried to save, Flash crashed on me. I reopened Flash and went to open my project back up (I didn't do much more to it so I wasn't unhappy that it crashed while saving), it gave me this output error:[code]Does this mean my file's lost forever? It says it's a JS error, but..I don't have to rebuild this. I've been working on it for ten weeks and it's due in three.I just deleted the "ObjectFind AndSelect.jsfl" file then relaunched Flash. It created a new one, but my file is still failing to load. Only this time, it's not saying it's a JS error.

I have a Flex and Java application and i am using BlazeDS between flex and java. Generally my application works fine. I observed when ever i try fetch data little faster(not giving gap between two fetch commands) then i am getting the error "Server error :faultCode:Channel.Call.Failed faultString:'error' faultDetail:'NetConnection.Call.Failed: HTTP: Failed'"

it seems that I have installed wrong or corrupted component files, because every time i open Flash and try to use any component, there come error messages like "Unexpected file format" and Flash closes inmediatly after that... I reinstalled Fash , but it is still displaying that error... so I guess there must be a file where I can delete all the previous components installed, and make it work from scratch... how do i do it

I tried making a new user on my computer but get the same error message with that user as well.

I am using CS5 Flash and have developed a very large system with several thousand lines of code, a main timeline, and some dozen classes. Sometimes when I test it, I get get the error message below.Error creating SWF fileBe sure the destination file is not read-only or opened by another applcation. Also check that the file name is not too long.It appears to happen at random. Many times it doesn't appear at all and the FLA simply complies. Other times it may appear several times before the FLA complies. If there are errors in the FLA file, normal error messages are displayed. If there are no errors in the FLA, I get this random error message.

I can produce ipa and release to apple store by CS 5.Now I try CS 5.5 in my office , it cannot sync to my iphone. No error message found, just when sync , the check box of that ipa being unchecked.I am considering to upgrade to cs 5.5 but cannot view the different...

When I test some of my as3 movies a new window opens and I can test the file. Yet when I test other movies I get an (error opening url 'file message.) What causes that? It seems to me that if a movie plays it should also test in a new window.

When opening a fla - made in cs5 - in flash cs 5.5 a message asks if I agree that the file will be converted to cs5.5. I agreed to the conversion and saved the file.When opening this "converted" fla I get an output error message: #1014: class fl.video::UIManager could not be found.The file is 08End.fla from Classroom in a Book Lesson 8.

I have a reproducible error: I am being forced to fix corrupted flash files that give the "Flash can not parse this document" error. But shortly after I fix the problem, the files are re-corrupted.
Here is how the problem is reproduced: when I update a custom component that is used in other symbols in the library. When a new version of a custom component symbol added to the library, replacing an older version, the symbols that contained the old symbol are corrupted in the XML. This is tedious and time consuming to work around.

So I have an accordion menu that has 5 panels, all move clips, click on one and it will slide to the right like a drawer. The issues is that I cannot get it it slide. I have the actionscript files sitting in the same location as my flash file. I get error #1034 Type Coercion failed.

I'm extremely new to Flash. I've inherited a website project. It appears as though the original developer bought a Flash template with the intention of modifying it to the client's needs. I've downloaded a trial version of Flash CS 5.5. When I open the .swf file, two things happen:

1. In FMS core logs I see this error "Failed to open log file[URL].. But I check and found the file exists. What can couse this error, do you have any idea? 2. Is there a way to disable logging for an application? 3. In edge logs, Sometimes I encounter the error "Exception while processing message : (Adaptor: _defaultRoot_, VHost: Unknown, App: , Type: 20, ID: 0, B". It seems it has no effect but still it is an error.

Within my movieclip WinLose I'm getting an error for a movieclip on stage called mcRestart. When it's pressed it's suppose to trigger function Restart. Used the following code in a real life demo. I clicked the button, SaveAs dialog displayed, I chose to say the file in the Documents folder.Went to open the file, and got a message saying it was in use with another process. Restarted my computer, was now able to open the file. However the file is empty. It should have some text that I put in there - how can text vanish from a file? By simple downloading it.

I would like to display a message in flash "we are open" or "we are closed" based upon time. Naturally I can do this for the users local time on their system, but is it possible to work out if their time is different to UK time (GMT) and display those messages accordingly. After all I don't want a user to see a message "we are open" at 1pm their time - they could be in Japan and it'd be about 4am UK time. Is this possible to work out the time difference on any system?

I've created some error handling for external images loaded via a path in XML. Within the Flash preview it's fine and shows the full error message (and most importantly, the URL that isn't loading).
But in the browser, even locally, it doesn't out put this message!
