View 1 RepliesFlash cS 5.5 / Win 7. Inserting video into movieclip both with 'import video' wizard and via component. FLV that plays fine on a number of different servers. On opening (after gathering metadata) the message 'The video player is in the connection error state. It enters this state when a video stream attempted to load but was unsuccessful. There are two possible reasons for the error: no connection to the server or the stream was not found.' Firstly I am treating this as a progressive download, not streaming. Second this plays fine locally, it's only when I upload to a server it fails.
The FLV is in a folder directly below the SWF. Result is same with FLV in same location as SWF. MIME type set to vide/x-flv although I've also set it to application/octet-stream. This is a very basic requirement to call the video directly from Flash, the default parameters of the component are adequate and work locally. However the video does not play. Is it fair to assume this functionality simply does not work correctly within Flash CS5.5? I'm unclear as to what >less< I could be doing with this file.
When opening a fla - made in cs5 - in flash cs 5.5 a message asks if I agree that the file will be converted to cs5.5. I agreed to the conversion and saved the file.When opening this "converted" fla I get an output error message: #1014: class fl.video::UIManager could not be found.The file is 08End.fla from Classroom in a Book Lesson 8.

View 1 RepliesI have installed a FMS to a CentOS server. I created an application here but I cannot connect to it raising a "Connection Error". I tried testing it by streaming some videos on the samples on vod. I used the "../samples/videoPlayer/videoplayer.htm" which is locally found on my computer that was included when I installed a FMS too on my local computer (Windows). When I try to load a video from my computer's FMS samples it usually works. I used the following Stream URL here:
rtmp://[MY-IP]/vod/sample.flv
But when I try to load a sample vido from the server I still get "Connection Error". I used the following URL
rtmp://[server-ip]/vod/media/mp4:sample.f4v
The file is located at /applications/vod/media/ which is as far as I know, the vod is the application's name and media is an instance name. Is there a sample working Stream URL on the internet that I can use to test?
I just installed Flash Media Server 3.5 and was trying to verify my installation. When I try to 'Verify progressive download over HTTP' as given in [URL] i am able to 'View a sample video' on start screen but when i try 'View your own video' i get this message on the player "Connection Error. Please press Play to try again."

I reinstalled Fash , but it is still displaying that error... so I guess there must be a file where I can delete all the previous components installed, and make it work from scratch... how do i do it
View 6 RepliesI've created some error handling for external images loaded via a path in XML. Within the Flash preview it's fine and shows the full error message (and most importantly, the URL that isn't loading).
But in the browser, even locally, it doesn't out put this message!

#1006: value is not a function. at MethodInfo-43() I don't know what the problem is, or where could it be, here is the problem code, but first a brief description: Every 3 seconds 3 enemies will be created with a random position, the enemies can't be appearing on top of the other so I check if they collide with any previously added enemies, if they do I assign other random coordinates and check again until there is no collision (I'm using the collision detection kit CDK for the collisions[URL]..the first 3 enemies appear correctly but afterwards the error appears and the next time the program enters the generation part the enemies begin appearing in ridiculous numbers.

I'm trying to access a webservice with an SSL connection from an AIR application, I can access the webservice and retrieve the data without SSL, but when I try and access it through it I end up getting the 2032 Stream Error. As if what I was attempting to access wasn't available (which in fact it is, since I can easilly access it through my browsers).

i am currently trying to learn ZendAMF, but i have a hard time troubleshooting which makes learning it quite hard. Is there a way to make the PHP file throw an exception that gets traced as an error message in AS3 (not Flex), the only error i seem to be able to get is "Error #2044: Unhandled NetStatusEvent:. level=error, code=NetConnection.Call.Failed", but it tells me jack ****.
i have gotten ZendAMF working, i just want to know how i can make error handling better, so that as an example can use PHP to tell flash that no results were found, or that the typed text was invalid. Is it better to use AS3 to check if the field was filled properly?

I am using CS5 Flash and have developed a very large system with several thousand lines of code, a main timeline, and some dozen classes. Sometimes when I test it, I get get the error message below.Error creating SWF fileBe sure the destination file is not read-only or opened by another applcation. Also check that the file name is not too long.It appears to happen at random. Many times it doesn't appear at all and the FLA simply complies. Other times it may appear several times before the FLA complies. If there are errors in the FLA file, normal error messages are displayed. If there are no errors in the FLA, I get this random error message.

View 1 RepliesI had FMS 3.5 developer package installed on my server installed about a month ago. I used to be able to go to the /webroot/ page to see the sample RTMP video play and it worked great. Today, I go to view that page and find that it no longer plays. I get "Connection Error. Please preee Play to try again."
Pressing the play button does nothing, so I click the RTMP thumbnail and it reloads ony to give me that same error again. I can click the HTTP thumbnail and see the video play just fine. But, I want RTMP and after over an hour on the phone with my managed hosting tech, we can't find anything wrong.
Here's the thing: I haven't done anything, I have not changed anything, I have not manipulated the server software whatsoever. It just stopped working and gives me "Connection Error."

When I test some of my as3 movies a new window opens and I can test the file. Yet when I test other movies I get an (error opening url 'file message.) What causes that? It seems to me that if a movie plays it should also test in a new window.

It's streaming RTMP, and I'm trying to get my video to seek correctly if the user clicks on the groove bar (gray bar under the green progress bar) Currently it does not seek and gives me a NaN on my duration variable and an error on my progress bar width variable, which is puzzling me.
For some reason my videoDuration variable is coming up as NaN when used inside of my seeker function, also I'm getting a null object reference error when trying to trace out playerCntrls.progressTotalW which is the total width of the groove bar[code]...

I created my own FLV player skin and then wanted to know how to pass variables to flash via HTML so I could make my progressive download FLV player dynamic. I have a video tutorial in mp4 format. The video has many chapters. The tasks given to me are:
TASK 1: When the video is played a dialog box should appear in the video screen showing two options 1)I want to continue with this chapter 2)Goto the next chapter When the user presses option 2 the next chapter should be played (the video has to be fast forwarded to the next topic's timeline).I should not do this using Chapters/Contents at the side of the video.
TASK 2: Next, when a chapter is completed, a dialog box should appear with options 1) REPLAY this chapter 2) Goto the next Chapter.
