View 6 RepliesIf I turn 'Omit trace actions' on, then when I run the file, I get the error that says: Stack underflow occurred.
Fortunately, it told me what class it occurred in, so I took out the traces one by one, and I found one particular line that causes the error. It's just tracing a string, and it causes the error anywhere inside of this one function.
So I can easily avoid the error, by either erasing that one trace, or by turning 'omit trace actions' back off. But I don't really get why it's happening.
I'd like to be able to redirect the traces, and even more then traces the flash error reports to a text-box inside my flash app, so I can see the bug report in a computer that doesn't have flash-player debugger version or flashbug installed.
Any error message that comes on in my app should show in this textbox.
Is it possible for Flash debug player to show Flash website online a bit different than what the normal Flash player shows?
By different i mean...the content of the liquid Flash website instead of playing right in the middle it shows a bit off center.,
I am creating a card game everything is fine but I am not able to create a stack of cards as follows: If I have 4 cards that are represented in an array such as 4,5,6,7 of Spades then I want the card with the least priority to be placed on top and the highest priority card placed behind the first one.

VerifyError: Error #1024: Stack underflow occurred.
at flash.events::EventDispatcher/dispatchEventFunction()

at flash.net::URLLoader/onComplete()
This is particularly difficult to debug because when I run in debug mode it does not happen at all. It only happens when compiled as a release.

applicationComplete seems to be an even better event than creationComplete to put application initialization code. See this blog entry for some explanation, and and this video (around 4:25) by an Adobe Tech Evangelist for an example of simple "start of application" data initialization.

I am building a simple game in flash in actionscipt 3. I want when the user click on the 3 movieclips on the stage to trace a message like "Thanks for clicking all 3 movieclips!"

I'm in the process of releasing an online quiz but am coming across many problems once I publish my swf and view in my browser. Some of these problems can take hours to solve without knowing what the cause is.
I am aware of the Flash debug player, but is there a way to have a message pop up within flash player or my browser to give me an idea of what the problem is i.e "Questions.xml could not be found"? I would also want this to be displayed for the general user should there be a problem, as opposed to just a blank screen.
I have a video tutorial in mp4 format. The video has many chapters. The tasks given to me are:
TASK 1: When the video is played a dialog box should appear in the video screen showing two options 1)I want to continue with this chapter 2)Goto the next chapter When the user presses option 2 the next chapter should be played (the video has to be fast forwarded to the next topic's timeline).I should not do this using Chapters/Contents at the side of the video.
TASK 2: Next, when a chapter is completed, a dialog box should appear with options 1) REPLAY this chapter 2) Goto the next Chapter.
I've been using CS4 to create flash 10 applications. It works well in other browsers, but IE 6 will not tell the users that they need to update their Flash Player. Instead, it will play the flash as if it's a video (keep looping from frame 1 to end) without allowing any interaction..

The game requires me to keep track of and tell robots to go to an x position and build something. There is some priority as to what robot gets selected based on their current task. So i have 3 arrays set up in a globalvars class, I then sort these arrays in order of least priority. There will be instances of the array being completely empty so I check to see if the GLOBALVARS.aBobIdle is undefined. When I exicute the code does not trace any of the trace functions and traces out a bunch of lines in the output pannel that look like this

I have a really annoying bug with the Flash player. When I go into fullscreen then an image of the normal-sized flash player flashes up momentarily in the top left-hand corner of the player.It's really ugly and I can't seem to find a quick fix to get round this. View 1 RepliesI'm having a problem with Flash and InDesign (both CS4), installed as a bundle in one go from Adobe Master Collection discs, When trying to launch InDesign or Flash, I get a message that they are 'not supported on this architecture'.
I'm on a MacPro with 2x3GHz Quad Core and 4GB running 10.5.7.
All the other CS4 Master Collection apps have installed and run fine.
My volume is formated as Mac OS Extended (Journaled).

I'm having AS3 create 12 random var (play1, play2, etc) and then I ask it to average the 12 vars (numbers) until I get a specific average number. When I run this in AS2 I get the "script time error, keep running?" question. I tell it to keep running and eventually AS2 finds the right set of 12 numbers to equal a specific average number. In AS3 I get a "stack over flow error". I know that all my AS3 swf needs is just more time to find it.

I wanted to report a problem I've been having with Flash CS5.5 on MacOS 10.5.8 When I drag an element (usually a line or shape) with the alt key pressed (in order to create a duplicate on the stage) sometimes I get a couple of message boxes appear that say "Panel x could not be created removing it from the list" where x is a number like 7 or 9. After I click through these the swatches panel appears in the middle of the screen.
This is quite annoying and holds me up as I have to click through these boxes & then close the swatches panel.
I'm trying to use server capabilities Flash Builder 4. But using different ways (i use 5 or 6 tutorial) get one and the same error within a week - "Channel disconnected - Channel disconnected before an acknowledgment was received." I looked up "gateway.php" and there was not even a closing tag ?>. Error repeated on a remote server (of course I changed all the settings to the mySQL database). Network monitor also gives error.Show where I can find a solution, please? It may be to blame Zend? But how to update it?

I recently had an error dialog popping up on a site of mine online. I just noticed one on a well known newspaper website. Are these new? Do they only pop up if you have flash on your machine or do all users see them? Jpeg of the error message from the newspaper site attached. with my site the movie ran perfectly when I did test movie. Online the error message popped up, clearing it caused the movie to display incorrectly. Running in Debug mode showed the error and I fixed it. So in some way the error message was useful. Thing is the site had run perfectly well before the error dialogs mysterious appearance, the error was probably there but had no effect.
