I have a flash code, in which i am loading images and opening urls through xml file, now it is opening in a different window(pop up window) but i want it to open in the same window.

If I open up a web browser and then click the menu buttons, the buttons open the link up in a new page. Once the NEW page opens, the menu buttons start acting as I would expect, then opening any further links in the same web page. Is this some internet explorer security setting? Every computer that I have utilized (total of 5) to view the web page exhibits this same behavior.

I'm just checking the swf in Flash CS5 using ActionScript 3, publishing with command+F12 (key command on Mac OSX), but that alone should work right without exporting? And to go a little off topic, could someone kindly tell me how to embed the swf as HTML code, as I'm trying to setup this swf as an intro to my website and need to embed it as HTML for my index.html page.
I had developed a whole series of tutorials using Flash CS4 (AS3). To load various modules I used the the following code:

This works great with CS4 but when I stated using CS5 and exported my swf files, it stopped working. It seems that its trying to find the page over the internet and not the local directory anymore.
I have a flash widget, hosted on a web page that attempts to navigate to a URL with some http request query parameters added to it.I'm finding however that the white space in a parameter value gets double encoded for some reason, such that 'SPACED OUT' turns into 'SPACED%2520OUT':[code]Basically, I'm looking for anybody else who's seen this and of course any suggestions as to what can be done about it.Obviously, my opinion is that this should be encoded only once, to 'SPACED%20OUT', which is what's expected by standard.

When the user clicks a button the web browser starts to navigate to the new page then seems to hang (I can see it starts to go to the page by reading the transferring data from message in Firefox status bar)
This also seems to work in debug version but not the exported version.

View 1 RepliesI am working on integrating the social network "vkontakte" into my desktop application using Adobe AIR. The flow of authorization in the app is as follows:
Open the web browser with a url, and when the user inputs login and password, redirect to somePage.html. From that URL, I need to get an access_token to sign all future API requests.
So the question really is: How can I listen to an event, which will indicate that the user has logged in successfully, or failed to get that access_token?

This Adobe Flash Player Security box is really getting in my way. I have a button that acts as a lind to a web page It has this bit of code programmed to it:

Can anyone tell me if calling navigateToURL() causes this security box to appear every time if you havent trusted this .swf in your flash settings? i have looked at a way to handle the "link" with javaScript but before I get too deep into something I'm not too familiar with I wanted to see if there was a way to here within flash while avoiding the flash security box.

Im having a little bit of a problem with a .flv file i want to put into a flash document for adding a play and pause button.
Im not sure why, but i get an error message every time i try to load the .flv
Ive tried same method with other .flv files i have to make sure - it is definitely just this one. I want to figure out whats up with it and have no clue about encoding, is it possible for anyone to just have a quick look to see if they can open it?

I made a quick flash document for my friend who posted it his MySpace. The document has 3 buttons, each with a URL attached to them. When I play the SWF file locally, the links work fine, however once it's published to MySpace, the links refuse to work. The hand icon comes up so it understands them at least as buttons, but it seems to do nothing when clicked in the web-browser. Also, I can open the SWF in my browser and it also works fine.
I'm using Flash CS5 and working in ActionScript 3.0.The three buttons are on one layer called "Buttons". I right click the button and click "Actions". From there, I click the "Code Snippets" and under the folder "Actions" there is an item called "Click to Go To Webpage". Here is the code it gives you by default:

I heard there was a problem with MySpace not allowing action scripts, and after checking the source code, the value is set to not allow action scripts. I don't think it's a browser issue, since it's working fine when I execute the SWF by itself, and when I load it into Firefox. It's just seems MySpace is having a problem with it.
I just bought Flash CS5 for own computer. I already have CS4 on the computer at work. Unfortunately I get an error when I tried to open a CS5 project in the CS4 at work. My boss is unwilling to buy CS5. Is it truly so that you cannot open a CS5 project in CS4 or is there a way to adjust a project in both systems.

The files sometimes open, but then crash the app when I select something on the stage. In these cases I can actually edit the actionscripts.I'm not sure if the crashes are related to Leopard; don't remember if I tried opening one of the problem files since upgrading.I'm on a MacBook Pro 17 2.33, 2gb ram.I repaired permissions (several times), ran various Onyx processes, zapped pram, removed all the prefs files I could find, and reinstalled the whole suite (CS3 Master suite). Bridge won't even open; it crashes on opening.

View 0 RepliesI am a graphic designer working on a project for a client at my office. We created a Flash brochure, with flipping pages and all the bells and whistles. This flash file will be put on a CD among other items, distributed to users on both PC and Mac systems. Within the flash file, there are hyperlinks that link to the web, but we would also like a few buttons to open up a Word Document on the user's computer for them to edit and print.
I've already seen in other threads a way to do it using executables, but to my knowledge EXE's do not work on Macs. Is there a universal alternative? Is there a way to do it on Mac and we can have two separate versions per CD?
I was using Flash MX 2004, but I thought it was time to update so I got Flash CS4. All my old files work when working in Actionscript 2.0 but then when I try and open using AC 3.0 everything dissapears but still remains selectable. The is no old actionscript in the file at all, so I thought maybe it somthing to do with the movieClips.

I've created a flash intro for a website and I have it setup so that in the first frame of the intro it opens a popup window, and then in the last frame it opens the actual site in the same window as the intro. Right now when it hits the last frame it opens up the popup window again also! Ack! I'm guessing that it has something to do with re-using the same variable name. I tried changing the code in different ways on the second window opening but still had the same result, or broke it opening up any pages at all. I've also tried moving the two code snippets to different layers. I'm thinking there might be a few ways around this too such as if there is a way to trigger the popup window, and then have the intro wait x seconds and then opens the main site or something, but I have no clue how to go about doing any of this. have the site in question in a temp location currently and it can be viewed here: [Url]
In IE7 and IE8 block popup lock my external link (page html). I use GetUrl(url,"_blank") but not it works. I use flash cs4. With firefox it work

I'm trying to avoid doing the whole thing in Flash, so the home page is a CSS/HTML header page that will house a looping flash piece underneath the header, and the inner portfolio will be flash pieces brought into the same CSS header framework.I'd like to know what kind of code I need to use in the portolio flash navigation so that the "home" link will open the CSS/HTML home page in its same window, rather than launching another window. Is this something that can be done using AS3, or do I need javascrpt as well?

View 1 RepliesI have a script that loads a php page for variables. There are no problems when the swf is uploaded to the site but when I run it locally, I keep getting "Error opening URL" messages. I'm using absolute pathing and if I paste the URL my script is using in a browser, the correct page opens. This only started happening after the site changed servers.
