Actionscript 3 :: Trace Placement Of Audio Files On Timeline In Flash?

I am working on an animation project. I'm not a programmer. I'm working in Flash CS3. I've an animation that I've produced that I need to output the placement of my audio track for use by the post-sound guy. After my recording session, my sound guy gave me one large file that had all my audio on it. I've had to scrub to the correct position on the audio track for each clip I wanted.

Now that my animation is completed, I've got my audio all in place, but I need a record of where it's at in the Flash Timeline so that I can give that to my post-sound guy so that he can rebuild it in his sound editing software.

What I'm wondering is if there is a way to run a trace or generate something of a text file that will do the following[code]...

I need to randomly position identical symbols in a movie - I have found a way I can do it in the main timeline using this code:

The problem is that the _x and _y parameters only seem to work in the main timeline, and I need the whole thing to be self-contained inside a movie clip, so that I can easily paste it into other Flash movies (about 75 of them). Is it possible to specify a random location inside a MC?

Because the player optimizes framerate, antialiasing etc dependent on the performance capabilities of the platform upon which it is running, it was nearly impossible to ensure animation syncronization w/ audio. If the audio were on the timeline you could set sync params to stream, but if the audio is loaded programically forget it .. well until AS3 ..The following code throttles the player framerate to lock step the animation to the audio .. not perfect but the principal works ..

I'm trying to trace Mc Identifier names on timeline keyframes. But it does not work for keyed frames...

-I have an ordinary keyframe animation on the root timeline. -each keyframe is a movieclip (exported for actionscript and a class created in the library/properies)

-I try to trace every frame, but for some reason my script ignores the ones with a keyframe in them and reads the emty(grey) timline areas.

since the whole deal for me is to create a very simple timeline exporter

how to get the names for frames with a key in it?

(I pasted this clip on first frame in timeline)

Get The Audio Level Chart From The Library Into View Along The Audio Timeline?

The images for animation load okay. The sound loads okay.  But the animation images need to be inserted in coordination with the sounds, which is difficult using only the ears  There is a visual graph of audio levels in the library window, which I have seen appear in the timeline also but only momentarily.  I do not know how to keep the audio graph on the timeline so as to know where to put the images.  I can keep the graph open on the little library window when it is open but not on the timeline. how to keep the graph open on the audio track while I work on the image tracks.

For the life of me I can't figure out how to trace out the current label in my movie's main timeline. This is in AS3. I have a button on stage that spans the timeline of the movie. It detects keypresses. I want to trace the current frame label that the play head is on.

As titled, what is the way to record video/audio files using Flash Meida Server through rmtp, and allow users to access the recorded files through http?What I am trying to do, is to record a user's microphone's input and save it to the server.fterwards, I would like other users to be able to access the recorded files and mainuplating the audio data, by computeSpectrum(), to do some visualization of the audio. As I know computeSpectrum() cannot work on streaming files, so I think I need to access the recorded files using http instead of rmtp. Is that true?

I realize it is possible to play audio with Flash and HTML5 by passing a URL.

However, is it possible to get a reference to an audio file using a file browser (either with HTML5 or Flash), to then play this local file, again using either Flash or HTML5?

Of course, this should happen without the interference of a server. Since the file is already on the local system, it does not make sense to route it through a server only to receive the same file again.

I'm having some trouble getting Haxe to play audio files in Flash 8.At the top of my hx file, I have:import flash.MovieClip;import flash.Sound;and, within the class itself, I preload a lot of image files along with the names of the audio files.The idea is to do a slideshow with audio content. Basically, display the first slide and play the audio associated with it.Then, once that audio is finished, move on to the next slide and next audio file. I have the slides fading in and out okay but when I tried to add sound, nothing comes out the speakers.The following code is what I'm doing - the sound file associated with audios[0] never starts playing and I'm at a loss as to why.

I'm using ffmpeg on Windows to create mp4 files for web distribution. As libfaac isn't available, I use libmp3lame to encode the audio tracks. The mp4 are played back with a falsh player (JWPlayer).I was wondering if there were any shortcomings to use mp3 instead of aac on certain devices?

I'd like to compress audio files before they are uploaded to the server to save bandwidth. Although I doubt that such direct binary access and manipulation is possible, I'd like to be sure.

I'm trying to use the Shared Library process for the first time with audio files and I'm not sure why it's not working. I've followed both processes from here:[URL] and have a library file called libTestAudio.swf with all the audio files set up right (see Flash file here [URL] My question is should the testAudio.swf ever grow in file size? When it has no content it is at 4Kb but when it has the shared library file added to the timeline it becomes 8Kb. Now this might sound small but I've tried this with much longer pieces of audio and the file size does get bigger for testAudio.swf . I was thinking that only the libTestAudio.swf file would increase in file size and testAudio.swf would remain at it's 4Kb size. Am i wrong there?

I have a button on the main timeline that works fine, part of the code in the button:

It basically moves stuff a person draws off the screen when the button is pushed, there is another button that brings it back. But when I put that same button in a movieclip on the main timeline and change the code to this:

It no longer works and the trace shows no output, it basically loses it completely, I can't figure out why it does not work, it seems so simple.

Flash :: IDE - Multiple Sound Files In Timeline

I'm having a little issue with the sound on my flash website. The way my site is set up so far is that after the preloader, i have an enter site page that holds there until the user clicks on the "enter site" button. Once they click that button it takes them to the site. I would like to add 2 different sound files to this. One file for the enter site that loops over and over until the user enters the site and then that sound file will stop and the other sound file will start.

When I tried this I could not get the first sound file to quit playing once you enter the site. So basically when I am on the "enter page" it's playing the looping file fine but when I click "enter site" it plays the other audio file on top of the one looping. I hope this makes sense.

I'm having an issue that I never ran across using AS2, and I'm completely baffled. I'm making a program that is going to be, more or less, an interactive training program.  Each frame is a separate "page" of training, and has its own unique audio clip that plays.

The frames are laid out like this:  On the main timeline, there is a movie clip object.  Inside that object is the interface the user interacts with, along with a movie clip that contains the audio, set to stream (I have it set to stream because they sometimes have to move around in the training within the timeframe of that audio clip.  If I have it set to event, I can't have them skip a section of the audio clip, etc)
 
Things have been going well, but I just added a new layer to my main timeline, containing a navigation bar (a few movie clips), and all hell has broken loose.  Every single audio clip starts playing at once, right from the beginning, even though the frames that contain those audio clips haven't even come up yet.Are audio clips used completely differently in AS3 than AS2?  I've figured out the SoundMixer class, and I have SoundMixer.stopAll(); on the first frame of each movie clip that contains the audio clips (the audio clips start on frame 2) as a safeguard, but man.

I am trying to make a scrubber that will allow me to scrub through the root time line which has streaming audio on it. I have created audio players before where the file was being streamed in from an external file, but have not dealt with it ever being on the timeline.

It works pretty well, however, there is a problem. When I scrub the bar, the audio stops playing. I am assuming it is related to the enterframe function, but I am not sure on how to correct the code.
