I would like to attach an error to a formItem. In spark, it appears that the standard way it is rendering on error on validation of a textInput, is bordering the textInput with red, placing a yellow alert icon next to the textInput and placing the error message in the formItem aligned to the right. How does one do this manually for a custom formItem invalidation so that I can conform to error display?

If the validation of MyValidator has errors a red frame apears around the BorderContainer as intended. But unfortunatly the error text that should apear right to the form item doesn't. I'm thinkin it's a layout problem because I define the validator inside the form item content before adding it to the form. I've already debugged this and read documentations a lot.
I've got a simple text input which I want to use the errorstring tooltip on, ie. when you assign a value to errorstring it colours the textinput red and shows an error tooltip when you hover the mouse over it.
This all works fine, but there is a long delay (maybe 10 seconds) between when the mouse is over the offending textinput and when the tooltip appears. Does anyone know how to influence this delay? I've had a good look around, but can't find anything.

Working with Flex 4.6 spark forms, I encountered strange behaviour: FormItem element ALWAYS has inner gap (padding), which cannot be removed. Red area on image ilustrates the unwanted GAP that i cannot manage to get rid of. Blue border represents Form component. Grey border (thin) represents FormItem component. FormItem has no padding or gap property.

When developing for mobile, you want to make best use of every pixel on your screen. This is unacceptable for me since I want to have several TextInput fields and having this gap will waste lots of space... So my question is, can the red GAP be removed? I want my FormItem to have padding 0 - meaning TextInput border will touch FormItem border...

Can I do this with a label inside the form item?

I want to build a flex FormItem extension that adds a button into the item label section, such that there is both a text label and, to the right of it, a button that uses an image icon: Basically, I want to create that 'i' icon, such that I can click on it to display a help overlay for the item in question.Is there an existing component that does this? i'm trying to figure out how to reset or refresh clips that are dynamically attached to another clip based on records returned through xml.asically if the user chooses a different filter for the database query I need to be able to refresh a scrolling list made up of clips which will be different based on the filter.this is what I have for a function. which everything seems fine, but when i implement a slider on a page inside a folder in the root (i.e. aboutus/index.aspx) i get that error when the slider is trying to call the images.I have similar slider animations in pages located in the root folder and in those i get no problem at all, seems it only happens when the page is located inside a folder.The website is done using main.master on asp, maybe the cache or rendering of the website is missing something, hope someone has had something similar or know how to get around this.

What I need from this code is the following:
a. to pick up the mic activity level, read it, and based on the number put out a line
b. it to be kept to a minute, after the minute the screen is cleared and it plays back the lines and sounds that had been generated.
c. that nothing appears when the mic.activityLevel is 0
d.that when lines hit each other, a sound is made
I don't care if there is no playback, but right now I can't even get the lines to appear and I need the sounds to play when the lines hit each other.
I'm making a system to upload photos to a gallery. I'm using filereference, and it's working alright. I can upload like 20 files fine sometimes.. but when I do like 50, it starts giving me errors on over half the files.
The error is: Error #2044: Unhandled IOErrorEvent:. text=Error #2038: File I/O Error.
This may be a php error, or server error, I'm not sure. Because the file isn't even uploading at all.
I have an swf that sends info to a PHP file which in turn gets a SWF to FLV converter running. If I try this with a small 1kb swf file it works great and returns the results with in 5 seconds.However now that I step it up to convert the files in which it was intended, files ranging around 2 mbs, I get this error..

I have a Android Actionscript project that I am trying to incorporate sound in, but having a problem that I cannot figure out. I have the sound file in the same directory as my class file and my .xfl file. I am trying to start the music file as soon as the application starts via class reference, but am getting the same error everytime:
