I'm displaying a 720x1280 image in a 720x1280 SWF. My screen is 1366x768.The visualization is awful since my image is cut off (although internally the image's size is still 720x1280 when I do trace() ).Everything is suitably displayed on Firefox.

The zoom just works fine by changing the value from 1 up to 3 with a slider. Midpoint of the zoom is the center of the container (map).My problem: when i zoom, the scroller cuts a part of the groups. it zooms out of the window?!
I have a Mac and a PC - I have apple specific stuff on the Mac, everything else on the PC. My Adobe software is all on the PC. I like using the PC - bigger screen than the Macbook. Problem is that Adobe is effectively forcing me to use the MacBook.
Now I can use Flash to build cross-platform stuff from my PC, but I have to create all the certificates and profiles on the PC. If I want to do IOS development on the Mac I have to generate new certificates and profiles.
So switching between using flash/Flash Builder on a PC and native development on a MAc means continually regenerating certificates. If I had a desktop and PC latop, I could install on both, but not a PC and a MacBook. I am totally fed up with Adobe for this stupidity. If anyone knows differrent about the need to regenerate everything according to platform,

Simple question, pretty new to action script and not too sure which would be the best way of implementing this, but how would you scroll through an image if it is bigger than the screen. What I am thinking right now is simply dragging and dropping the image but that doesn't seem like the best solution.

View 4 RepliesI have an AS2 image gallery with thumbnails and fullsize images and descriptions that load from external XML-files. I have found out how to take this gallery into true full screen. But when going full screen, I want only the full size image to scale up. Descriptions and thumbnails should stay the size they have when the flash movie is in its normal display state.

I thought there was a simple way to make Flash content display full-screen on two monitors at once, but I can't seem to recall how to do it.
Searching on the topic is tough because so many people are talking about the ability to keep a full-screen video playing while working on another screen, which is not what I want. I need an app I'm developing at 2880 x 900 to be viewable full-screen across two monitors horizontally.
I've tried

activate from a user click, but it fills only one screen.
I've tried it from within a projector and from a browser with allowFullscreen set to true, and using version 10.2 of the player.
I have a small problem with loading in a XML-file into an AS3.0 script The thing is the code is not giving errors but my screen is not displaying my content. What should I do ?

I am trying to print a HTML from my air app, however, this HTML should never be seen on screen. I am using HTMLLoader for this, as per some sample I saw on the web.
What happens, is that there is a print dialog, but it prints out a blank page.
If this is a window application, and I click some button to print (just the HTMLLoader) it gets printed.

All my scripts are being loaded non-blocking, all are before except for one in but I tested removing it and the white flash is still happening on page loads.All my stylesheets are using link rel in the head. I'm out of ideas.

I have gone through it all and it works great for the tutorial but I tried replacing the background with an image and when the browser is resized to full screen it distorts the image and stretches it out of proportion. Does anyone know how I can have the background image resized to the full screen and stay in proportion?

I am trying to create a website that will full scale the browser window with all the flash elements inside but I am having trouble deciding what resolution to design in and how to lock certain content to not scale.
I am trying to achieve the effect that will consist of a high resolution image as the background for each section of the website that will full screen. Content such as logo and footer etc should always remain locked. An example of this can be found at http:[url]..... If you shrink the browser window all content stays centralised and the top and bottom footer do not scale, although the central part of the site does change. I was wondering how this effect was achieved? How does some content remain locked and others scale. I really can not figure out what dimension size to design in and achieve the high res image effect for the site. I too will require a top and bottom footer.how that site was published and constructed that would be brilliant.At present I am playing around with the following code:

i have created a page in flash with input text field and a toggle button which implies full screen mode as well as normal mode by including the below script. stage.display = "fullscreen".
Users cannot enter text in text input fields while in full screen mode. All keyboard input and key-related ActionScript is disabled while in full screen mode, with the exception of the keyboard shortcuts that take the viewer out of fullscreen mode Is there any solution to enable the keyboad inputs.
I'm trying to create a website for my wife. Everything is completed and it looks great. The only problem I'm having is that when my wife goes to view the websit on her computer (much smaller size). The page cuts off and there's no scroll bar feature which I thought was like a fixture on websites. I've been looking for hours on how to add a scroll bar to my entire website .. like the standard browser scroll bar but I can't seem to find it anywhere.
I have two files, one is the index.fla file which i used to create my page in using Flash CS5 and the other is the index.html file which I can edit in Dreamweaver.
I'm having this annoying proble with BitmapData. I try to turn a movieclip into a bitmap, but there is always white space to the right and bottom. At the top and left, it is obvious that part of the movieclip was cut off. However, the width and height of the bitmap are correct. In other words, white space takes up where the rest of my movieclip should go. About 30% of the bitmap is white.I have a method that creates a grid based on an array. The Wall class extends MovieClip. Each wall is a 70 x 70 movie clip that looks like a stone (its x and y are established within the class itself).[code]I have messed around with changing the registration using a class I found online, but it didn't fix anything. In fact, changing the registration made no difference. Also, I have called addChild(walls), and everything is displayed correctly. But for performance reasons, I need to make it a bitmap.

I got the streaming set up fine so that it streams mp3s using the VOD application, but quite regularly the stream will just cut out and the VOD application in the administration section will just disappear and restart with 0 clients. It doesn't even happen when I have that many connected clients, at times it's happened with just 15 users, and i've had Red5 running over 200 clients at a time.

It records just fine, I can hear the flv on the server, but when it comes to the playback it cuts the end a little bit, and each time I ask to reproduce again it cuts a little bit more. I guess it's something related to buffer management, but I don't know exactly.

I have a problem with the TabNavigator. The labels of the tabs are getting truncated and once the user places their mouse over the tab it redraws again. Is there anyway to redraw the label of the tab programmatically?

I've attached some images for reference, but as I make my window larger the bottom of my stage gets cut off. I'm working off of a website template and am not particularly sure how the elastic function works. I've had some success changing the code to

but then there are just solid blocks on either side of the background image that don't look very good.
so the bottom will be locked in place and not get cut off when resizing the window.

I have a movieclip on my main timeline. Inside of the movie clip are a few goodies which load in a sound clip. I'm using this code to play the sound:

This works great, until the main timeline is navigated backwards. For example I have web pages on frames 146,147,148, 149, etc... The menu links go to anyone of the given frames/pages. If I navigate so that the timeline is advancing, the muzak keeps playing. However, if I'm on frame 150 and use a menu button which takes us back to 147 (or anything before 150 on the timeline), the sound quits.
I made a movie in Flash CS3. The exported SWF shows that the right hand side of some of my letterforms (made from a non-converted font) are clipped off. Switching fonts produces similar results. Is there some glitch in the program that I am no aware of?
View 9 RepliesFor some reason, if you add an image to htmlText, like the following:
myText.htmlText = "<img src='"+dataProvider.bodyImage.getUrl('original')+"' align='left' />" + dataProvider.bodyText;
The image will be successfully added to the htmlText, but it seems to measure the sizes completely wrong. At times, the actual text (dataProvider.bodyText) will have part 'hidden' under the image. At other times, there are anywhere from 1 to 4 lines cut off at the bottom. However, if you select the text and drag your mouse down, you can see the bottom lines. It appears the text is all there, but the mx:Text component is not including the image in the textHeight, so it doesnt resize the componenet to the correct size.
My mx:Text's htmlText is the following:

However, the result looks like the following:ScreenshotAs you can tell, it cuts off the first few characters in the text after the image tag (Lorem Ipsum is sim), but it is only because the image is full width. If I change the img tag to width="200", it shows the text floating to the right.However, as you can tell with a full width image (because the Text component's width is 339), it seems the text is still floating to the right, but it's hidden off to the right side of the image.
I have a series of mp4 videos (H.236 @ 22 fps) streaming from an akamai FMS serve via RTMP protocol in flash player 9+ with AS 3.My goal is to create client side playlists that smoothly switch from one stream to another. I am creating these playlists using a series of netStream. play (filename,start,len) methods. If I don't use an offset for the start parameter, then the stream switches smoothly from one video to the next with not noticeable jump or jerkiness. However if I introduce a start offset, say a few seconds in, I start to see a quick little hiccup or pause between the seams as it switches from one playlist stream to the next.
View 1 RepliesI have run into this before, and just ran into it again, and was completely confused how a bytearray converted to a string was only 4 characters long. The problem is, if you EVER try to append a NULL character (not the ActionScript null, but the string value of the char 0), it cuts off the end of the string when printing out in trace or displaying onstage. HOWEVER, if you trace out the length of the string, you get the full length, so the problem arises trying to print the contents onto trace or the stage.
