I have a panel and i have set minWidth and width for it. The code looks like this <s:Panel id="adg1" x="199" y="164" width="200" minWidth="300" title="Title">
Here the expected behaviour is width of the panel should be 300 since the minWidth > width,but the panel width is 200.I dont understand where i have went wrong.
For example:
sampleComponent.explicitMinWidth = 500;
sampleComponent.explicitWidth = 10;
Sets the width of the sampleComponent to 10, even though I've set the minimum width to 500.The same thing seems to happen with width. In Adobe's documentation, it states that 'measuredMinWidth - Specifies the default minimum height and minimum width of the component, in pixels. Flex cannot set the size of a component smaller than its specified minimum size.I've tried setting the measuredMinWidth as well, same result.Eventually, I tried every combination of minimum width settings I could, but they were all ignored when I set the width (or explicit width).
sampleComponent.measuredMinWidth = 300;
sampleComponent.minWidth = 300;
sampleComponent.explicitMinWidth = 300;
sampleComponent.width = 10;
Additionally, what is the difference between width and explicitWidth, in every case I've tried, they have performed identically (couldn't find any help on this either)

I am trying to figure out why I am getting an error when using the chromeColor (or other spark style related items):

This is the error:

Yet in project - properties, the theme is set to Spark. I also tried setting it to Halo and then back to Spark. Here is my app definition:

I have seen references that define the mx namespace as "xmlns:mx="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/halo", but then my mx components break (TabNavigator for example) - not sure if that would fix it anyway. I is using flex 4.1 library (I believe the project was originally created when flex builder was at 4.0 if that matters).
No other libraries included.
Project - properties is set to MX+Spark.
Also, if I remove that chromeColor, the project compiles, BUT there are warnings such as: The style 'borderAlpha' is only supported by type 'spark.components.TitleWindow' with the theme(s) 'spark'. Flex Problem (and others - borderColor, cornerRadius, dropShadowVisible).
I'm using the following mxml code for displaying a list of some data. I built a custom renderer which can have variable height. Each time a new data arrives, the scroller should go to the end of the list. I registered to the events which triggers an array change.
It's working fine if the height of items is the same. But if this is not happening, the scroller is going a little bit above the end.
If the height of an item from the middle of the list is bigger, then the last items are not visible.

I am having an issue with my ItemRenderer, which I am using for a spark List. My code is the following:
I have this list:

The thing is, if I scroll the list, and click on an item, it does not trace 'arthur' ! Why is this so ? I must trace that all the time that someone clicks in the list!
EDIT: If I remove change="model.selectSet( productSetList )" in the list, it works!! but I cannot remove that, some suggestions ? How can I switch that to another function?

I have the following scenario: I create an HBox with a width of 1000000px (one million pixels of width). this big HBox is contained inside another small HBox that has a width of 1000 px

Inside this big HBox I create a bitmapFill of a simple image, its just a pattern of lines the problem is that the scrollBar of the small hbox doesnt work well, it just stops halfway, the thumb of the scrollbar keeps going, but the scrolling stops and the end of the big hbox is not beign reached. As is, I have an Application containing a BorderContainer and a DataGrid. At runtime, 3 new BorderContainers (which are dragable, and resizeable) are created based on XML data that contains X & Y co-ordinates, and Height and Width values, and then added to the pre-existing BorderContainer. How would I go about getting the properties of these children BorderContainers to be displayed and remain up-to-date in the DataGrid (such as when they are moved/resized)?

My problem is pretty simple: Flex containers do layout based on un-transformed children, and so rotated children are positioned as if there were no rotation, but then they're rotated around the top-left of that position. I've attached an image to show what I mean. Can I wrap the components in something? Or do I have to resort to custom components or fixed layouts? I have a VBox, I assigned a handler to click, and inside the VBox I have components such as images and texts with no handler assigned for click. Would the click function be called when I click on the text and image? If not how can I make it so without assigning handlers individually, but on the container level?
View 3 RepliesI generate panels dynamically and put them in other states in that way so in one state you have a list of panels on the left and one big panel on the right for example in one state and when you click on the list on the left (with small panels) that panels takes the places of the big panel and the big one goes back in the place. I have a custom component ExpandCollapseMenu that extends SkinnableContainer.This component can have state "normal" or "expanded".Inside this component I have buttons, with different skin based on ExpandCollapseMenu's state.This works fine when defining the buttons inside ExpandCollapsMenu's skin class:

i turned on buttonmode on a spark image and there is absolutely nothing happening there when i mouseover.

i know that an image isn't a button by definition and there are button classes for this, but can anyone maybe clarify if this is expected behaviour or is there something general i am missing here?
I am working on a drag and drop feature for the sparkScroller. This is sort of how my layout looks:

So when you hold your finger over a row in the items Scroller for more than a 30 seconds, the touchView becomes visible so does the dummyRow. The dummyRow gets populated to look like the row which you held your finger over.
So the touchView has the event handlers for moving your fingers and places the dummyRow where your finger is. The problem I am having is even though the touchView is reacting to my move events, the scroller still keeps reacting to my move events as well even though it's a sub layer. Because I started on the scroller it still keeps track!
How can I remove focus / tracking from the scroller?
I have a spark skinnable component which contains a datagroup with images. The datagroup is scrolled by hovering the mouse over it. Everything works fine except one thing: after I change the datagroup provider, I need to scroll down automatically. The problem is the images are not loaded immediately after I set the provider so (contentHeight - height) does not yet represent the actual maximum scrolling position. Is there an easy way of telling the datagroup to scroll down as its content loads? Because the workaround seems to be not so straightforward. I have created a style in which i am defining a font family.When i apply this style to label it reflects the font were as there is no change when it is applied to a spark button.I Tried various way to Apply font style but it doesn't work.Other properties work fine except font family. The problem im having is that, this method of creating a simple button with skin is being phased out : Infact it is no longer supported in flex 4.5 mobile projects.
So the question: Is there a simple way to perform this, with spark buttons (which is suppose to be the new way to go). As simple as possible.
Basically i only need a button with 2 images : down/over & up. And i want to keep the code as simple as possible : The new skinning methods, seems to really adds way too much lines for something that used to be as simple as the example above.
Flex 4.5+ is I guess everyone is working on nowadays so I asked this question since I haven't yet find working both spark datagrid and the mx printdatagrid components together.
What I'm trying to achieve is to print all the data inside my spark datagrid. So when I do my research, we use the PrintJob or the FlexPrintJob classes.It works fine but when I need to print multiple pages since the data on my spark datagrid is quite long, I can't somehow find a way how to do it.The print output is only upto where the height of my spark datagrid.So in my research, they somehow managed it to use the mx:PrintDataGrid component.But sad to say, they did it with an mx:DataGrid also.how to use the mx:PrintDataGrid along with s:DataGrid.

I have been able to disable tabs in a tab bar using the following tutorial.

This only works for mx tabbar. Does anyone know how to do this for a spark tabbar? I prefer the lnf of the spark one. When I try it with a spark tab bar it just disables the viewstack of the tab and not the actual tab. An alternative solution may just be to make the mx tab bar look like a spark toolbar with the rounded edges.
Is there more work, or source code files required to customize your look and feel (skins)?
How maintainable and readable is Spark relative to Halo?
Is it more productive and easier to customize overall than Halo, about the same, less?
If you're an SDK user who was 99% happy with Halo's appearance (maybe just a few CSS tweaks), is switching to Spark creating more work for you? Do we now need to employ designers to get a reasonably complete look and feel?
