I want to remove an item from my dataprovider where the label in dataprovide is "zee4"[code]But this does not work. I cannot use removeItemAt because I don't know the index number. I need to remove as per the alias itself. The alias is a unique field.

I am trying to display records from an SQLite database within my Flex mobile application. I have the input form saving data correctly to the database, and I have a datagrid that is outputting the records (so I can confirm everything looks good). However, my problem is making the data readable.
I want the user to be able to select an identifier from either a drop down or a list (even if it's just a 1 column datagrid), and have the labels to the right update to reflect that information.

View 5 RepliesI have a DataGrid of objects, and I want to modally edit them; pop up a dialog, change the item, and if the user clicks "Ok", save the changes back to the original item, and if they click "Cancel", do nothing. It seems obvious that if I simply pass in a reference to the original object and change it using data bindings to the fields in the edit form, I won't be able to cancel my edits. How can I support that capability?

The selectedIndex is associated with an HSlider, but that is not the problem. My issue is that I would like to automatically select a certain "preferred" element from the list (only initially...to guide the user).
I tried to do that in a creationComplete event but my data hadn't shown up yet...setting selectedIndex didn't work..
I need to include an icon to the left of a label in my form. it would probably work best if the icon was part of the label. it seems to me that a form item cannot have anything preceed the label on the left side, is there anyway around this?

I am trying to remove all the padding from a Label contained in an HBox. I set paddingTop and paddingBottom to 0 in both the Label and HBox but there is still quite a bit of padding. I also tried setting verticalGap to 0 on HBox. If I just have a checkbox in the HBox the padding is removed fine.

I would like to be able to get rid of that space to where the text is completely flush to the top and bottom of the label. Changing the gap, padding, and leading didn't seem to help. Is it possible to get the text completely flush to the sides of a label?

I was up too late and my brain hurts.
So I'm getting strange results when trying to remove the first item in my array. When I remove the first item by using the shift() method, it deletes the whole array instead of just the first item.
Here is my code.

When I run the program it correctly shuffles the deck array and pushes all the shuffled items into the shuffledDeck Array. Then the first 26 cards get pushed into the playerDeck Array and the rest go to the computerDeck Array.
When the last bit of code runs, it correctly picks the first item in the playerDeck Array, but when I try to remove that item, it removes everything in playerDeck.

But directly above is a separate menu item that says "Made by JWD" and that takes you to a different website if you click it. I have the .fla file for the gallery - can I remove this menu item?
I would like to use the AS "for each" syntax to loop over a collection of items. Within the loop I sometimes need to remove an item from the collection I am iterating over.
Using a "for" loop, I would code this like (note the "--" operator to move the index back):

I am working on a project where there are 10 questions and user can answer the question or skip the questions. I want to track the number of questions (which questions) the users have skipped. I am adding the skipped questions in an Array. But if users click on the previous button and skips the same question again, the same question number is added twice to the skipped question Array. Basically, it would go something like;
