Jul 14, 2009I would like to create a small Adobe Air application which would extract XML data from my site and display it in my Adobe air application.I have the xml part setup, when i run the xml file, it displays the results in the browser. Now what i need is to display the same results in my adobe air application.For e.g. I have a simple form

When i submit the form, i get all the order id's from 2009-01-01 till date and it get displayed in the browser.Is there a way to run that HTML form in an adobe air application such that I enter the XML element values it should go through the admin_xml.php file and get the results.I dont want to enter the XML Skeleton again and again. I only want to able to enter the values for those elements.

Feb 3, 2012I'm currently working with the OLAPDataGrid component and got stuck at a relatively simple task: I want to style the last row of the grid differently from the rest, so my cell item renderer needs to know whether he's rendering the last row with content in the overall grid, including those rows currently not rendered because they are outside the visible grid space. AdvancedGridListData's rowIndex property only gets me the row index of the renderer relative to the range of visible grid rows, i.e. when I scroll down the grid, a data item with an index greater than 0 gets the rpw index = 0.

Nov 11, 2010I am trying to drag and drop hierarchical data in the same advanced data grid, and I would like the data provider to updated when the ADG is updated. (I want to be able to save and load this tree, so it is important that drags and drops are saved.)

The sample app has an ADG showing hierarchical data as well as flat data. The first column of each datagrid shows the rowindex of the underlying data.
If you rearrange the items on the left ADG, the row indexes become unordered. If you click traceTree you see that the data provider is not in order.
On the other hand if you do the same on the right, the row numbers stay ordered even when the objects move around and if you click traceFlat, the data provider is in the order shown on ADG
My goal is to have the data provider order match the ADG order for the left grid which is displaying hierarchical data.

Flex :: Won't Display Data In Run, Or Won't Display Data In Debug?
Aug 15, 2011This is the edit to my question. There is quite a bit of code here, but the problem area is below the second set of three line comments. I stuck the rest in just in case I'm completely wrong about where the problem is. With the "if" statement I can display fine in a run, but not in debug. If I get rid of the conditional it runs fine in debug, but not in a regular run. These errors only occur on the first run of the quiz. In either mode it runs fine fi I take a second quiz.

May 27, 2011I am using a spark list control to display certain items with my custom Item Renderer. I am trying to achieve the following: (1) show a separating line between rows in my list control (2) even when not a single row has been added, I want a horizontal grid lines to be displayed in the background
I am not sure whether (1) and (2) can be achieved in one go. I can solve (1) by modifying my item renderer to have a border, I guess. But I want to know whether there is a better or more conventional way.

Nov 16, 2009how to display the thumbnails of images in flash in the form of rows and columns (3X3 grid) using XML and a Next button to move on next page of the thumbnails. For example, I'd like to display images (fetched from the database using XML) in a flash file where in i want to display 3 records in a row and rest of the images to appear in the next row having the set of 3 images in each rows.
I'm having a hard time handling this task. any idea on how this can be possible? Please find below the code that I am using at the moment to display all the images in single row, but can't find a solution display multiple in different rows.

Apr 3, 2006i want to display a grid of video thumbnails, whose parameters are loaded from XML. the number of TNs is variable but the area in which to display them is of a fixed size. i'd like the number of rows/columns AND the TN's size to vary to fill the available space, whilst maintaining the TN's aspect ratio e.g. display area is 200w x 300h and there are initially 10 TNs (which are 4:3 ratio, say): 3 columns and 4 rows of TNs 62 px x 46 (i think) but if the number of TNs goes up to 30, or down to 3, i want the code to adapt, to give me a 6 x 8 grid or a 1 x 2 etc.

Mar 20, 2010I'm trying to map XML tags inside an external file to the cells in a data grid. The only thing on the stage of my movie is a data-grid component with an instance name of dg. The movie loads an XML file named list.xml. Here are the contents of list.xml

However, when I test the movie, only the headings are correctly displayed. The rest of the grid is blank. I know the arrays for the names, prices, and quantities are full of data. I'm just not sure how to put their data into the grid.

Here using function of focusOut, I am calling the web service by sending the data which comes from the datagrid through focusOut function.
