View 5 RepliesI am trying to make a flash application that can save (to the user's local hard drive) a screen shot of the canvas (or more accurately part of it).I've dabbled with Quasimondo's Bitmap Exporter which did some funky stuff to render an image, ship it to a php script on the server, and bounce it back to the client. But not only is that inefficient it also has two other major flaws:
1) it's written in actionscript 2 so I can't use any actionscript 3 abilities.
2) it breaks as soon as one of the images on the stage is defined as a variable brought in through $_GET rather than hard coded. (the image comes in fine but then the rendered finished product is a blank white image)
I have an image loaded from an url and added to canvas as child. Then I am drag and dropping another image on it which also uses the senocular transform so the image can be transformed on the canvas. I have coded in such way that the transform handles shows up only after it's dropped on canvas. The image shows up correctly. But I am trying to save the result image (that is the main image and the dropped image on top of it), I only end up with the main image that was loaded earlier. The dropped image doesn't show up.
Below is the code for handleDrop() that is fired on dragDrop event and prepares the final image.

I have made a flash game for facebook. All happened right expect when I am saving score in my Db. I had sended vars from flash to php , which I think is not working://Here is how i am sending vars from flash

I made a program in Flex that uses the actionscript 3 drawing api. I am drawing on a Canvas and on every mouseUp event I save the bitmapData in an Image component and clear the the Canvas. That works great, but the problem appears if I want to add a background to the paint that was drawn.
Here are the mxml components:

I want when I set the _background Canvas background color to see it, but I cannot because the Image component(_image) where I save the bitmap is masking it.

Do you know how can I make the pixels of the bitmap that weren't drawn to be transparent?
I have a swf that lets you take a picture with your webcam , I have changed the scaleX to -1 so that the picture on screen appears like a mirror. This works fine, when I take a screenshot I am getting a bitmapdata from the video stream, which I am also setting scaleX to -1 to preserve the image the same as from the video. But now I am trying to save that picture as a jpg file, I can't seem to save the pictures as it appears, I can only save it as the original data which is essentially the wrong way around (doesn't preserve the changes made to scaleX = -1)

I have made a flash webcam application to allow the user to take a photo of themselves using a webcam. I have successfully saved the photo in my localhost. However, I would like to set the names of those photos. Currently, the photos names are generated by
$uniqueStamp = date('U');
I also have a textfield in my flash app that allows inputs from user for the photo name. For example if the user write 'MYPHOTONAME' in the textfield, the photo which will be saved in my localhost will be named 'MYPHOTONAME' too. How do I do it in Flash and in PHP? Currently I'm having some problems because I cannot send the textfield string to PHP.

which way to go to produce a swf that would function like a video player but with pictures?I would like to be able to load images and then use its sliders to 1) browse through images sequentially (similar to browsing through individual video frames on a timeline) and 2) beable to zoom without losing the ability to drag the picture in the view pane (ScrollPane doesn't work as when I change the size of its contents through myscrollpane.content.width, I can't drag it).

In the code are other things ( Stage.scaleMode = "NoScale" , listener an etc.) I have a problem, the picture is big. I publish the fla to html and I looked in it... in the browser the bottom of the picture cropped. Is there a possibility that the browser show me the rest of the background with a scrollbar. I have a widescreen laptop and I want to optimize for that.

I want to dynamically add different items to thumbContent canvas and use scroller canvas to scroll. I see than the height of thumbContent bigger than 7977 it truncate from scrolling. So - I see the scroller canvas with empty space on top. Then I scroll to bottom - I see the content of thumbContent and at bottom scrolling I see empty space too.
I'm trying to skin a canvas with an image (which is essentially a custom border for the canvas). I've been trying the backgroundImage style as well as the borderSkin style. I can't get the image to scale to the full size of the canvas though. I was wondering what the best way to go about this is.[code]...

We know that the function gotoAndStop(frame2); works in multiple situations which means the first 3 line is fine. I don't know if the problem is the MOUSE_LEAVE event or this.stage which i suppose is the identifier for the canvas. I sure that there must be an alternative code for the identifier this.stage or the whole code. Any solution on how to fire the given function in the event when the cursor leaves the canvas?
I recently used the loadMovie action to load a .swf file to a target in the movie which it was being called from. Then I tried calling a picture to another target in the movie, but it did not load the picture as intended. I read about it on my book, but it didn't seem to work. Is there anyways on calling a picture into a target in the movie without placing the picture inside an swf file?

When i click the the green button i want the green image to fade in.. i fugured out a way to do this on the timeline, but then i have to have a black box first fading in to remove the old picture and then start fading in the new picture..

View 1 Replieswhenever I publish a FLA file I have, and load it onto a website, I see elements which aren't suppose to be within the frame sitting outside the frame.These elements are outside the canvas in flash and come in for brieft flashy moments but then fly back out again.How do I hide all files outside the canvas? My code above works absolutely fine, until i resize my browser window to a size below 800px width. When the browser window is make of lesser width than 800px, the canvas with background color #A8A8A8 is on the right of the window, but the problem is, when I move the scroll bar, the canvas should remain on the right of the window. Which does not happen, and that is what my problem is.
How can I solve this issue. What should I do to keep my canvas be on the right=0 all the time.
I want to lie two canvas at one Tab Navigator. when I use <mx:local it created multiple tab.
