ActionScript 2.0 :: Resizing Uploads - When Each Picture Loads The Loading Frame Resizes To The New Picture Size?

I'm totally wowed by the resizing picture effect though? When each picture loads the loading frame resizes to the new picture size.It must be some sort of actionscripting but how is it done?

I am trying to make a frame around a picture that the user uploads using only 1 image repeating it and scaling it accordingly so that it is as big as it should be in reality arround that picture. My problem is that when I scale the result until some point all is well and than it smears somehow. I've been trying to fix this for 6 days now and I am desperate. I am posting the code that I use tho create the frame parts and a picture of the result after I scale it with scaleX and scaleY.

I want to create a website with a background that will auto-resize according to the stage size using AS3.But what i need to know before I do it is: What is the right resolution for the background picture?I want people with resolution starting from 1024x768 to view the website correctly and I also want people with 24'' monitors to view the background with good quality so I guess the image needs a high resolution. I started with 1936x1288 but when I resize the stage to fullscreen the bottom of the image gets cut off.

I want to make a picture gallery and use buttons that move you from picture to picture and backwards, but I don't want to tell button 1 to go to frame 2 and button 2 to got to frame 3 and so on (I hope you know what I mean)Can I use on button on a separate layer with the same action set? I tried something like that, but it didn't work:

i am trying to make this xml gallery that dynamically resizes according to the picture's width & height. the function resizer() is hardcoded with fix values. i have tried to assign it from the array like below but it works wierd, the border just keep increasing in size.

I am building a web site and I have the main movie, which loads a picture gallery (another .swf file) using "loadMovie();" and then the problem comes in - my gallery movie has a preloader which after finishing is supposed to move on frame 2 of the gallery movie, but instead of that it moves to frame 2 of the main site...
This is the main movies button code loading the gallery:

Here is my preloaders code on the frame 100:

And at last my gallery movie's code on the preloader frame:

I recently used the loadMovie action to load a .swf file to a target in the movie which it was being called from. Then I tried calling a picture to another target in the movie, but it did not load the picture as intended. I read about it on my book, but it didn't seem to work. Is there anyways on calling a picture into a target in the movie without placing the picture inside an swf file?

I use a flash program in my website to resize pictures before transfert, for preserve my bandwidth.
But, when i try to transfer a .png file with transparency, the resize don't maintain transparency in the .png file result. It's a problem for use it after.

I'm testing this idea of mine, but so far I've not been awarded succes.so, here's what's my idea about:I want to load a big background-picture into my Flash, and then I want it to be resized so it fits the screen-resolution that the user has on his/her browserit loads perfectly, and - from what I can see - keeps it's dimensions.but it does not resize to the size of the browser as it should....if you go to the link, and then manually resize the browser-window, you'll get the resizing of the background-picture going on, though.here's how it's all build:I have a test100.fla with a test100.as Document Class

i got five images, and five buttons, every image has a color, and lets say we start at the red one. When i click the the green button i want the green image to fade in.. i fugured out a way to do this on the timeline, but then i have to have a black box first fading in to remove the old picture and then start fading in the new picture..

I made a simple picture slideshow with a timer, prev/next buttons, pause/play buttons and jump buttons. Everything went good so far.Now i'm trying make every picture go to a URL when the picture is clicked but only the link on the first frame goes to the URL when clicked the other 5 buttons do nothing when click.(FYI: I made alpha 0% buttons in a layer above pictures)I tried two different codes but both have no effect.

The radius of the sphere, 'rad'. You can change it if you wish especially if you use thumbnails of a different size than our thumbnails.

The position of 'board'that will be defined later.'board' is the main container containing the sphere and the black background that reponds to mouse actions.

I need to establish size of picture (*.jpg) loaded in swf file. I used this script for load the picture:

but traced number is always 0 however the real size of picture is 256 x 192. How should I change the script for it works?

I make use of a bitmap picture, size 1920 x 1080, as my stage background. That image never moves ... well I may add mask to it later on, I'm not sure yet.
Nonetheless, since it is static, is it a good idea to cache it as bitmap? is it only for vector artworks?

I'm trying to monitor the currentframe of a movie so that when it goes to a specific frame, its loads the corresponding a picture out of an array dynamically using XML.
I think I have most of that loading part sorted out, the issue i think comes when i am looping code on the movieclip. I'm trying to set it up in such a way that if the currentframe remains the same, that it does nothing...this is so that it does not repeatedly load the same image over and over if the frame does not change.
I only want an image to load if the current frame has changed. I realise an example is in order so i posted the .fla and the .xml files in a zip file.

Is it possible to create a flash that works as an active picture frame? That will receive picture name as a parameter and load it into the frame, also can specify some effects on the picture with parameters too. By doing this, we just create a flash at once and use it manytimes with different pictures. We can even let it load frame as a picture file, so we can change frame by some parameters too. It will be good with user who doesn't know flash. And we doesn't need to modify the flash file when they need to update the picture in the frame. It will reduce workload for everybody.

I used to work with CS3, but now I have CS4. I want to load jpg picture in movieclip. But it doesn't works. I have tried to load *.swf and it's works. This is my code:

The XML gallery I have has a pop-up window that appears after selecting a thumbnail. What I'm trying to accomplish is for the first picture in the gallery to load into the pop-up window, which is now always shown on the stage. I was able to make it so that the pop-up is always visible, but one thing I couldn't figure out is how to make it so that the first picture in the gallery loads into the pop-up box WITHOUT the user selecting the thumbnail first?I think it has to do with this code:
