View 13 Repliesi am building an xml gallery that pops up portrait and landscape images. the pop-up should fit each image. I had this working fine with the code below and then I added a few landscape images with different dimensions. now the landscape ones all pop-up with too much space around them. the first part of the function just puts the imeges in the right place on the movie;

This seems pretty weird even for Adobe standards. I've set up size of the movie to be 1024x768, which is the resolution of ipad screen in landscape. The stage looks ok but when I publish the swf it goes into portrait mode.
I even used this line of code but it doesn't help.
stage.setAspectRatio(StageAspectRatio.LANDSCAPE);
In Flex 4.5 for mobile how can I use portrait / landscape states from a skin file?
e.g. In the skin file I want to create the following states

<s:State name="portrait" />
<s:State name="landscape" />
</s:states>
and use them in the normal way. However the current state in the skin file is not updated when I switch between landscape and portrait.
I'm attempting to use "if" statements to determine if an dynamically loaded photo is portrait or landscape. The problem I'm having is when I try "gallery_mc.getChildAt(0).width", it returns 0.
View 10 RepliesI'm coding a image viewer application for tablets using Adobe Flex 4.5. Basically, I have a list with a custom item renderer that renders the images in the list. I have set up the image size to be the width/height of the tablet device in portrait (600x1024). This way, only one image can be seen at one time. The problem is that when the device orients to landscape, this design obviously screws up. My question is how can I get it to change the width/height of my images automatically when the orientation changes such that only one image is shown at a time?This is my list:

I am trying to load an online employee directory where I have scrolling portrait jpegs and once you click on a picture employee information (which is a swf) is displayed in a space above. When I load the fla into Dreamweaver the scroll buttons work, all the profile pics appear, and the intial landing screen is there. Problem is that once you click on the profile pics (buttons), no information appears. This works in Flash (CS4) but not once it is in Dreamweaver. I think this is a loading issue? On each button for the images the code I have is:

I have just been to a really nice website that has some really nice use of Flash on it.... I'm totally wowed by the resizing picture effect though? When each picture loads the loading frame resizes to the new picture size.

It's a virtual hairstyling project but I have no idea how to get the first part to work.This is how the first part of the project goes:First, it will ask the user to take 3 pictures of themselves using the webcam (probably some buttons that says "take picture"). These 3 pictures should be saved temporarily in the flash.After all pictures are taken, it will ask user to choose one that they like the best and will proceed with the next step. And if they don't like any of it, they can take the pictures again.

I'm beginning this project trying to save to a jpg or png the content of a movie clip, but I didn't find any information on Google. Can you give suggestions of how to begin? And if you know some opensource projects like this one, please share it here.

View 0 RepliesI am making an application where the user needs to register himself. During the registration he needs to take a picture with the phones camera. All of this workds great. But if he completes the registration, the image taken by the users needs to be saved in the database(BLOB field). I searched a long time and the id behind it was to get the bitmapdata, get a bytestream and then encode with b64 to send it to the php service. So here is what I've done now:

I need to build a flash application In which I load a jpg, make a selection of it (a mask or something like crop tool) and save it back. Loading the picture and making the mask are not a problem. saving the edited picture back.

View 1 RepliesMy application is almost set, load the image, made the crop, save It to a server with a php and all good until here. Now I want to drag the image, make a scale of it and for that I used an Matrix (also done).

i am trying to layover a background picture (bitmap) a masked area of a captured (blurry circle) webcam and add some small bitmap graphics (little squares with text) to itactualy not that hard but i want save the whole thing as jpegso on the screen everything looks fine and i managed to save a jpeg with a masked capturevideo but without the background image included ;-(so can anybody tell me how to include the background image ?here is the code so farit generates a gradient mask for the captured video

Does anyone know how to get a script of some kind to grab a picture from a live stream and save it as a JPG file?
In this way a cron job can tricker the script and thereby grab a picture fx every 10'th minute and the picture can be shown on a website so people that are not attending can have a look into what is happening in the live stream.
I need to make a button animate from its normal size to a larger size but in a fluid scaled motion. I'm using a png image I cant seem to get it to scale from small to big when animating, and I have inserted a motion tween.

I need to establish size of picture (*.jpg) loaded in swf file. I used this script for load the picture:

but traced number is always 0 however the real size of picture is 256 x 192. How should I change the script for it works?
I want a frame to transform into the size of the next picture. It's hard to explain so here is an example. goto: [URL] and click on furniture for example. Check out the pictures and se how the black frame change size. Does anyone know a tutorial for this operation?
View 2 RepliesI want to create a website with a background that will auto-resize according to the stage size using AS3.But what i need to know before I do it is: What is the right resolution for the background picture?I want people with resolution starting from 1024x768 to view the website correctly and I also want people with 24'' monitors to view the background with good quality so I guess the image needs a high resolution. I started with 1936x1288 but when I resize the stage to fullscreen the bottom of the image gets cut off.

I make use of a bitmap picture, size 1920 x 1080, as my stage background. That image never moves ... well I may add mask to it later on, I'm not sure yet.
Nonetheless, since it is static, is it a good idea to cache it as bitmap? is it only for vector artworks?
In my Flex application I load an image into the Image control. After loading the image I can apply filters like color transform or grayscale etc and then I want to save the image with the filter applied.
