Flash :: Calling A ClickHandler From Inside An ItemRenderer Component Image)

I'm using a Datagrid which has an itemRenderer that contains an image :

I want to dispatch an event on click, so when I click on the image I do an action. However, It is giving me an error when do that. I did some search and the suggested answers were using outerDocument and ParentDoecument .. both didn't work.
How can I access the click handler function (hbox1_clickHandler() in my code) ?
In a flex project that I have that is designed to scale 100% to the web window, I have a spark list. And I have a simple itemrenderer that takes the data and displays a name, and a message. Just think of it like a simple instant messenger display. The problem is that for my msg_txt label I want to give it a width thats the width of the parent list thats holding it.I tried turning the horizontalScrollPolicy to off, also tried width="this.parent.parent.width}" (as well as this.parent.width) for the spark label inside the item renderer. and in the label i tried some things like left="0" right="0" maxWidth="{this.width}" but nothing really does the trick.How can I make this label have a max width of the list thats holding it, AND make sure it resizes if the size of the browser changes and the list size changes?heres the list:
I have a List which has TextInput as itemRenderers for all its items. Upon application launch the items are rendered in the TextInputs correctly. The data is being populated from an Array of Objects.
What I want is, after the data has been populated in the ItemRenderers, I want to have an additional item renderer (TextInput of course)...so that if the user wants to enter another item, he can put it in the additional textInput.
And I also want to add the additional itemRenderer each time the user has added a new item and taps ENTER on the newly added item.
Below is my itemRenderer, there is the clearTxt_enterHandler handler..but I wonder how to add another itemRenderer upon "Enter".
have been working on an air app for quite some time and in one of my mx:lists i have a custom renderer written in pure AS (no mxml). it extends the listitemrenderer mx componenet. in it i have overrode the createChildren() function to add some children of my own.
now, fort right-to-left text i want in this itemrenderer, i would like to add a spark:TextArea component in this createChildren() function
is there a way to do so?

When an image of size 100x80 is loaded inside it, the image does does not resize to 600x400. That's because scaleContent = true.
Then, I set maintainAspectRatio = true. The image did resize to 600x400 but obviously, it was totally out of proportion.
So how do I always fit any sized image to the current size of the SWFLoader while maintaining the aspect Ratio? The resized image may be cropped, which is ok.
SCENARIO: An image of size 1500x10 is loaded inside the above SWFloader. In this case the height(10) should be resized to 400 and the width(1500) should automatically resize depending on the height. A lot of the image will be cropped, which is fine.
I have a an image, lets call it "StageSkin.png".This is an image which is really just a border, and the middle of the image is "windowed", meaning that it is meant to show other information inside of it.The information inside of it is in the form of a component (based on a canvas component, lets call it 'Gauge').I want to create a component out of the 'StageSkin' image and the 'Gauge' component inside of it that would allow me to resize the component with the 'Gauge' component staying inside of StageSkin's window.I searched on this, and got the code below, but the embedded component just overlaps the entire image. I'm binding an array of items to a data grid using ItemRenderer. I use the data variable to control the bindable data. I also have someComponentVariable that need be inserted into every row but its declared at the component scope, so the data grid doesn't seem to reconize it (compile error). How can I use this variable (someComponentVariable) inside the ItemRenderer?
I am writing a custom item renderer to render a column series in my application. Its a stacked chart and i want to use the same item renderer for both the column series. The color for each series in the stack is different and am setting that in the 'fill' property of the two series. My doubt is how can i get the color specified in the fill property of the column series from the item renderer. if this works then i can very well use the same renderer for both series.

All works fine so far but I want the TextArea in the first itemrenderer to receive focus so that it instantly becomes editable when tabbing onto the List. I'm writing a s:ItemRenderer to render some simple graphical components in my app. Each element can have multiple shapes that can be selected by the user, i.e. a certain element can be a square, or a circle, or a star, or whatever else.The simplest way I could think for doing this was to include all possible shapes in a s:Group and then manage their visible tag depending on what shape the user has selected. Is there a better way to do that? Also, if I encapsulate the group in a separate MXML component, how do I propagate the state of the itemRenderer (say "hovered") down to the MXML component that manages the shapes?Let's say you want to display three types of objects alternatively - the IR below with an AS snippet that turns visible to false for 2 out of the 3 objects definitely does the trick, but seems so ugly to me. In the mean time I found setCurrentState (stateName: String, playTransition:Boolean=true) to propagate the state down, so that's solved.[code]

I have a Datagrid with an ItemRenderer assigned to a column which is a Currency column(String). The renderer is mean to display the Flag of the currency eg; for USD it should display a USD flag image etc. At the moment the column is appearing Blank without an image. I have the following renderer (which extends UIComponent). I am dynamically loading the images in the commitProperties() method. At the moment I have hard-coded it to the USD image to get it to work

i have an form employee form(form) and datagrid(contains image and edit button) in one screen. images and buttons are displayed in the datagrid using itemrendered(inline). My question is when i clicked on edit button the correspong image will be populated into employee form(as one formitem).
I am creating a custom component in Flex with extends the BorderContainer class, and I would like to be able to place additional content within the tagset when I use it in my main application, like this:

This works just fine, except that my component definition had some additional things inside of it, such as a <s:Label/> and styling, which is replaced by the content within the tagset above when I go to use it.
If I do not put anything within the tagset, the content that was originally in the component is not replaced.
Is there a way that I can simply append additional content inside of the component when I go to use it, instead of it being replaced each time?
I'm running into an odd issue with itemRenderers inside a TileList.Here is a working example without an itemRenderer: 152.org/flex/

(I don't have the rep to make both of these a link)Both examples have "View Source" enabled.To see the problem use the broken example, select an album and scroll down one row. Scroll back up and the images will be switched.If you try this on the working example it's fine.This seems to be a widely known bug, but I can't find a solution for it.
UPDATE: I started playing with this example again and found out something else. Turns out you don't have to override the data setter. You can create a new method in the itemRenderer that is set whenever the tile wants to refresh. So the trick is to not rely on the initialize or creationComplete methods.This is what I have for the itemRenderer in the Application.

how to zoom the image displayed with the help of an item renderer.If i apply the Zoom effect on rollover ,the particular cell zooms the image with the scroll bars. Is their any other way of doing this without showing the scrollbars.
I am building a gallery inside of flash using the UILoader component and some buttons. UILoader is preloaded with p1.jpg.I have written script to allow the button to go to the next picture in the folder like so:[code]But instead of going through all the pictures sequentially it gets stuck on p2.jpg. It only advances after several clicks and then goes back to p2.jpg. Can anyone tell me why it is behaving like this? Thanks.
