Apr 12, 2009i'm working on a project that uses php and xml to link my database information with flash. I've successfully allowed flash to read the xml contents. I need to randomise the data i retrieved from the database, so my xml content will change everytime i refresh the browser. However, i realised that the flash content didn't change like the xml content. The script to read the xml is written on the 1st frame of my 1st scene. Is there a way to read the xml again everytime i refresh the browser or re-enter the scene?

It has itemEditor components, combo boxes, etc. as aprt of columns.datagrid.invalidateList() method works to reload the datagrid with new dataProvider data.But, for me it is appending to the old data and new data gets added below the older data. Jul 18, 2006At my site [URL] I have PHP/MySQL talking to flash, when the holder movie opens it loads my home.swf into the content movie clip... It works fine once but if you click the home button (which runs the same function) or refresh the page it blanks out the text field and won't reload the content.

Jul 22, 2011I want an mp3 player stretched at the bottom of the screen that won't refresh on page reload. I just want to embed a basic mp3 player in some flash, or use jquery, or ajax? Not really sure. I'm most familiar with jquery and would prefer that route. I just not sure how you could have a div that stretches through every page, but only being defined in one page.

I want to have it set up so when you click on a "gallery" button, it reloads/refreshes the gallery to its initial state, because the "internal" navigation of the gallery isn't very intuitive...and so the only thing I can think of is essentially to remove the gallery and re-add it, whenever "gallery" button is clicked, which resets the gallery to its initial thumbnail view. I've tried fumbling around with removeChild, addChild, simple if statements, etc.

There are 10 buttons in the movie, each associated with a different JPG.This container_mc is part of a function called on the main Timeline.The Flash movie is 1 frame on the main Timeline. This code works correctly on the first JPG when I click on a button for the first time), but then when you click on a different button I believe it just uses the dimensions and coordinates of the first JPG. How can I reset or refresh (unload, reload) this function so it works correctly every time I load a new JPG?

Flex :: Caching - Google Chrome Does Not Refresh Application?
Apr 23, 2010I have an online flex app that is served via an html page. Its critical that the flex app is refreshed in the user's cache every time that it changes. To help ensure that this happens, I change the name of the swf file every time that it changes. In addition, the html page contains the following lines of code:
<META HTTP-EQUIV="Pragma" CONTENT="no-cache">
<META HTTP-EQUIV="Expires" CONTENT="-1">
Using these techniques, FF and IE always seem to grab the latest swf file every time. Google chrome, however, NEVER gets the latest swf file - the only way to get the update is to hit shift+refresh in chrome.
Is there a fail-safe way for me to ensure that the latest swf file is always delivered to the browser?
Professional :: Refresh Button Does Not Refresh Flash Website
Sep 30, 2010I had an issue with my index.html testing on IE and the preloader just stalls on "loading 0%". he told me that locally the progress event doesn't have time to load and to try uploading it to your server and see if it works. It worked just fine. Rah Rah Kglad.
So today I'm fine tuning the swf/ fla to clean it up. Reduced some picture sizes and deleted unused files and reduced the swf from 4000 KB to 350 KB Rah Rah Gene. replaced the swf in Dreamweaver and re-uploaded with Filezilla. Rah ah Filezilla.
Everything working great and my preload went from 23 seconds to less than 3. So I'm real happy except for one small issue. Firefox and IE both do this. If I hit the refresh button, it stalls on "loading 0%" once again just like it did locally.
If I hit the refresh several times it WILL refresh randomly....2 times refresh......10 times refresh etc.

Spoke to my hosting company who said everything seems fine on the server. BTW he said Chrome did NOT have this issue Rah Rah Chrome.

I have a flash project that contains a preloader. The project can be seen in this header[url]...
The flash animation plays fine when first loaded. However, when IE is RELOADED or REFRESHED, the animation gets stuck on the first frame I believe. The bizarre thing is that is works perfectly in FireFox after reloads.
I have tried multiple different embedding solutions and nothing fixes it. I suspect it could be the action script on the preloader. It is a one-frame preloader, and then the animation begins.[code]...

Jun 12, 2009I have a flash file which I have created, and when viewing the flash in a web page, it works fine in chrome/firefox, but in IE, the flash will only load correctly once. If you hit refresh, or navigate to another page and then go back to the page with the flash on it, the flash will freeze up at 0% of the load bar. This happens 100% everytime, but only in IE. Zero problems in other browsers.

Uploading the data to a PHP server works... well enough I guess. The issue is that when I go to reload the data, the file has been cached, and so I can't load the saved changes.
Is there a way to force flash to reload a file? Or clear it's current cached version?

May 26, 2011I've got a small flash program created that loads 10 different numbers into dynamic test boxes from an XML document. I can get it to load fine, but for the life of me I can not figure out how to get it to reload every XX seconds. [code]...
Does anyone know what code I put after that to get it to reload a new version of the XML every XX seconds? My code may have been working, but it was just pulling the cached version. Either way, my newbie self is at wits end. The XML updates every X second which I why I want the flash to relay the new information.

Currently I have it use a query string that is passed through the flashvars so it will get the right info on post back. Is there a way I can reload the movie and pass the variable into flash without a postback? For instance the page doesn't reload, just the flash with the correct set of images.This is the JS used for the movie:

What i am looking to do is create 5 pages with the same flash header. Links will be below the movie. When people click on the links a new page opens (same window) without reloading the flash file.
