I wanted to put a search box in my flex app that would act just like google or google finance: you start typing and a drop down list just below starts filtering the results dynamically. Does anyone know how to do this in flex? I am using flex and php so as the user types it will pull results off the server dynamically.

View 1 RepliesA client has a flash website that they wish to have indexable by google. They are under the impression that google will be able to traverse this swf and get all their content out of it. However their site is very dynamic, it is a front end only for a php/mysql backend, it loads all content via dynamically created xml files based on the http get calls that are made to the api. As far as i understand google does not know how to index a flash site like this. Our recommendation is to use the same api to create a shadow site for the googlebots to crawl and then deeplink to sections of the flash site. They are not convinced.. Does anyone have any proof either FOR or AGAINST this solution? <flattery>I come here because i know this is the definitive source for flash information.</flattery>

But would like to have the entire calendar view. Can this be loaded into a dynamic text box or a loader component??? Does anyone have a clue how to do this... Or create a monthly calendar with events.. I can't seem to find one anywhere, I am sure it can be done.. but not very good with AS.

View 2 RepliesI have a simple Google Maps API with external data loaded from XML file (location, lat, long, info etc.). I also have a custom marker as a MovieClip (marker_mc), which works fine, but I want to add a Dynamic Text Field (label_txt) to this MovieClip and load a simple data (<label>) to it from same XML file (distribubtion.xml), so as a result every location would have it's own label on the marker.I know how flash loads XML data, but what I don't know is how to include that in Google Maps API (if it's even possible).

So I would like to include pageTracker code in the iFrames that is being called.However the iFrames in this case are called from Flex. We are building a pop up and calling the iframes within the pop up.

Vkontakte does not support naturally in Google Analytics (not as Facebook) which means I can't even put the Google Analytics JS at the bottom of the page (or even use JS for that matter). What I can use is the AS3 library of Google Analytics, but for some reason it reports of failed gif requests every time I use it to report on an event. Is it even possible to use Google Analytics on the described environment? If so, what could be the reason of the failed gif requests? Is it debugable?

While searching for solution I came to know about OLAP4J and icCube, out of which I think OLAP4J is very old project and its not really active project. icCube looks good but it works with its own server, it cannot be integrated with Pentaho BI server.

I am writing a Flex application for use on a private intranet with no external Internet access. I want to use Google's 3D Maps Flex API, but it must be connected to the internet to download map tiles on demand.
Is there a way to locally cache the 3D map tiles and data so that I can run this app without an internet connection? And if not, is there a 3D GIS that supports Flex integration and allows for a local map cache?
