Aug 11, 2009so I have some buttons that, as of right now, simply trigger the scene to move on while at the same time killing some particle effect animations I have spawning when the animation is idle. What I now need to do is make these events move on to a specific scene AFTER the rest of the scene's animation has played out (about 400 more frames) I'm figuring that the gotoAndPlay command has to be tied to some sort of timer variable that I would have to figure out based on my fps. Or maybe there is a way to set up a timer directly tied to a certain amount of frames allowed to go by. I'm pretty noob at actionscript, so keep that in mind. Here is the script at the point where the animation pauses to await user input on the buttons:

Jul 24, 2009In a project that I'm working on, I have to be able to read input data from a serial port. The input data will be very simplistic in nature. I'm guessing more like a on/off, yes/no, true/false style of operation.I have found some examples in other languages, but nothing in AS3 or AS2. Could anyone send any sample code or a link to a tutorial that gives me some lead way on this? Which approach is better, going with a Flash projector piece, or building it in AIR? The final piece will be on a PC based system.

Jan 27, 2011ive made a button in the scene 1 which i have managed to navigate to scene 2 but when i click the button it goes to scene 2 but displays everthing that is in scene 1 in scene 2, how can sort this out so upon the button click in scene 1 it goes to scene 2 and only display content in scene2.

Mar 1, 2010I am building a website which loads some collada objects for each area. But I couldn't manage to clean the memory. It seems impossible to kill the objects.
I've found some samples implementing destroy() methods for away3d internal classes, but they're not working as well.

Flash :: How To Get The Top Level Child In Away3D
May 16, 2011i have a small question concerning away3D. I have some cubes with the exact same dimensions that are positioned in the same place. When i click on the stack of cubes, i want to register a click on the cube i added last. Instead of doing this, the click is registered on the cube i added first.
I have found a way to alter the cubes position in the container and have tried putting the element at the end (code below) and start of the childrenArray, but nothing seems to work. I am kinda really stuck here, so if anyone knows how to get the top level element when clicking on the stack, i'd be happy to hear.

Aug 11, 2011when I try to render a cube using Away3D + Molehill, I only get a white default screen, I followed the instructions here: hhe only thing I did not do, was the part that talks about the patch, cuz If I do that I get errors like when I try to import the Sprite class, for example.Im using FB 4.5.!

No Animation On Scene Linked To Another Through Button?
May 10, 2011I have one scene linked to another through a button, when I click on the button that links to scene two it takes me to the scene but doesn't play the animation it just shows the non animated components. Is there something really obvious I am missing here because if I go to the scene (when I am not testing the movie) the animation works perfectly.

I have downloaded playerglobal.swc and placed it, edited player xml file and configured it for flash to use FP11. In Flash, I have chosen Flash player 11 to be used. But when I try to create a new View3D object:

Feb 11, 2010I'm trying to find out if there is a way to get an animation to stream in the background and not reset or change when there is a frame jump or scene change. I just want it to become the permanent background.Kind of the way a sound can be set to loop and stream non-stop so long as you don't go back to the frame in which the sound started.

Flash :: Clipping Due To Segmentation In Plane Primitive In Away3d
Nov 28, 2011I have a Plane and I try tweening a MovieClipSprite on it. I run into trouble when I try to tween near the points where both segment triangles meet (I have kept both segments as 1), While moving near these points the Sprite disappears. I can tell it goes beneath the Plane because when it reappears it does so gradually and I can see it's lower half appearing as it moves away from these points. Increasing the segments obviously deteriorates the performance further as this begins to happen at other points as well. After installed when am starting fms using
./fmsmgr server fms start

Aug 19, 2011I'm having a huge problem with my Flash file; here is what I'm trying to do and whats happening:
I have a scene where with a movie clip that is controlled by the keyboard, when it hit a certain point of the stage it opens a new scene where a certain animation should happen.
The problem is every time the animation hits that certain point the code I was using continues running and flash shows me an error message.

I have a section of code that starts with creating a new NetConnection and then streaming a media file from an external source. I see in the documentation that you can provide a destination port (via the URL), but is it possible to force Flash to use a specific source port? I couldn't find a clear way to do this in the documentation, but I was curious if anyone else has an alternate method or idea.

Apr 7, 2011FMS and IIS are set up with separate IPs on the same server. Both are configured for port 80 because others, including 1935, are often inaccessible from certain environments. Problem is, the server's behind a router. Port 80 can only be forwarded to either the IP of FMS or that of IIS. Even if the two were on separate machines, I'd still have to deal with this.
