View 1 RepliesI'm trying to record audio from my microphone and save it out as an .FLV or .MP3 (or any other kind of audio format) file. I've gathered from my research that I need Flash Media Server which I do have access to but that's pretty much where the trail has stopped.I'm unable to find any concrete examples of doing this and would can point me in the right direction. I can use either AS2 or AS3 and this is agency work so I've got a pretty good set of tools at my disposal, just need to get somewhere with the research.

I have problems recording audio using FMS4 on Windows 2008 R2.I have an old server, it's a Windows XP with FMS 3.0.2 that is working perfectly but now we're upgrading the server to Windows 2008 R2 with FMS4.I'm trying on my developpen enviroment with FMS4 Developper Version (Trial).Using the same program (AS3) to record audio that works on my old server.
I got this traces on Flash: NetStream.Record.NoAccessNetStream.Buffer.EmptyNetStream.Buffer.EmptyNetStream.Buffer.Empty

I would like to try to create an Asp.Net C# application to record audio online using Adobe Flash Media Server.
View 3 RepliesI have a requirement to do a flash program or something like that (not necessarily flash, it can be javascript or something in aspnet) that allow me to save audio in the client side of a web app, and save it on a file in the server side of the web app.
Ive found this but the only thing that it does its to recognize the microphone, I need the hability of saving the audio file, by the way the server is implemented in aspnet
From a web page, I'm looking to record audio from the user's microphone and then upload the file to a server to be stored as an MP3. My solution is built using .NET.Most similar apps that I've seen use Flash on the client and presumably Flash Media Server on the server. We don't have the kind of budget for FMS. I'm looking for a free/open source solution.I've also looked a bit at Silverlight 4 since it supports recording WAV audio but I'm not clear on how to tackle the uploading and encoding to MP3 bit.Ultimately, I need to record audio from the microphone and then be able to store the file on the server as an MP3 file. Free (or at least cheap) is required.
View 2 RepliesI found an interesting article: [URL] I read the 2 .article, named: "Chapter 5: Two-way audio-video communications" [URL] I have copied the server side code and the client side code out of the e-book("A Better Two-Way Chat Application").

View 3 RepliesI develop failover fms application with server-side action script. But i have a problem that FMS can't continue to record stream with record mode "append".
Environment: FMS 4.5.1 r484 on CentOS 5.5/6.0
Goals:
I have 2 same data streams in failover application and republish primary to livepkgr application.
I have to store of last 10 hours intact recorded video (DVR).
Failover app logic:
1. I create NetConnection and NetStream to livepackager;
2. When primary stream is connected it attach the primary stream to livePackager NetStream
3. If primary stream is disconnected it reattach the backup stream to livePackager NetStream
Problem: I have testing environment. It stop primary stream every 5 min, and started primary stream 5 min after stopping.
It work's, fine, but after a few hours testing LIVEPACKAGER falls. It can't record a stream, NetStream.Record.Start -> NetStream.Record.NoAccess -> NetStream.Record.Stop
Search a solution: I try to relaunch recording process and have no success. try to shutdown/start livepackager, it's same, try to restart server, same no success.
I cant stream.clear() or record with mode "record" cause it clears my dvr cache, I cant clean stream directory in livepackager application.

For example, Flash records voice and sends it to the server where Java or C# apps can proccess it and return back some data (or write it to db). How this communication possible, which protocols sould be used and etc.
View 2 RepliesWe're currently working on a small scale indie card game for Facebook, which we hope will reach hundreds of thousands of players (eventually). We have most of the issues figured out (scalability, server-side architecture, etc) - however one question - communication between client & server.
We have the following requirements:
Server side push messages (no client message request) High scalability (should support at first hundreds and later hopefully thousands of CCUs) Secure, reliable layer Work well with most computers, routers & browsers Works with Adobe Flash/AS3
First thing that came to mind was socket connections, but I was wondering, is there a better solution that answers our needs?
Need to find a way for Flash to talk to an ASP.NET server-side script and save some product information directly from Flash into a customer shopping cart...but, how are people handling this communication between Flash and the server-side C#? I want my Flash .swf to browse products and add them to the cart from within' Flash securely. Currently people can browse / Sort the products, but how are people passing information to the Flash movie securely? How are people handling information like session variables? What are people using to use Flash as their only interface tool for logging in, or accessing their account information through a Flash interface?
View 6 RepliesI want to record the sound by using flash in server.
View 1 RepliesFor one of my projects I need users to be able to communicate with each other in an audio mode. The thing I'm concerned about is the scalability of the project if it even gets big in terms of bandwidth consumption.
What are the alternatives to passing the audio through my server to the users?Is it possible to create a link between two users so they can exchange their stream of data (audio in this case) so that it doesn't pass through me, while still being able to control the time they've been connected to each other and some other information?
As for now it's just an idea I have in mind but I don't really know what to look into. I think it will probably need to be some plugin dependant solution so that's why I tagged the question like that.
I'm not looking for a concrete solution, just a little push in the right direction from someone who has been through something similar.
