I am kind of new to flash and I want my flash site to get the best results from search engines.So I found SWFOBJECT is this the way to go? Also how do I use it? Is there any learning videos out on the web.

I heard that if I build a flash web site it will be difficult to get customers due to the fact that flash pages usually don't show up in the data bases. Is it right?

When I was using Flash CS4, it published a HTML file that showed the text content of the movie, which made it easy for search engines to index the site. However, in Flash CS5.5, I notice it doesn't appear to do that anymore.

More than 80% of my visitors are usually from search engines like Google, Yahoo, etc. What I want to do is to make my whole website in Flash.However, search engines can't read information from Flash or JavaScript. Note: you could reach a specific page/category/etc in Flash by using PHP GET function, for example: you can surf trough all the web pages from the homepage and link to a specific web page by typing page?id=1234.

The results are currently using a TileList & itemRenderer to display, and now I'd like to add an animation effect when the user filters their results. I know that you can use the itemsChangeEffect to create an animation effect when the user drags and moves result itmes. So I'd like to know if there's a way to create a similar effect triggered by the filtering on the comboboxes?

To access John's opinion, I could use:
getRecords.lastResult[1].opinion
But that's only because I know that John is the second record (record 1), but this may change. So the right way is to search through the results to first find the record index for John, then access his opinion.
I need some sort of a loop? Is there an easier way to search for John directly without a loop?
I'm trying to create a search function or find one on the web to purchase for a flash based website, and I've been trying to find some different tutorials on how to do this. I found a search program from CoffeeCup Flash Website Search that looked promising, however the big problem that I've been running into is that the website does not have an http:// address because it is running on an internal company network so it's file extension is like this:\File01MyDepartmentIndex.html so the CoffeeCup Flash Website Search can't do a search for all text found on my site. I'd like to have someone be able to search my site for text found on any of the different pages (All created with seperate swfs) and there are datagrids on most of them with xml data being loaded into them

The following code works fine for finding and displaying text within an xml file, but I want to display the results differently. I am currently in the process of making an image gallery at university over the period of the semester. Eventually it will be able to search through flikr and pull thumbnails from there but for now we are just getting the fundamentals working. Last weeks task was to have the int amount of thumbnails show up depending on the number u placed in the search field.
So in other words i type in 3 in the search field, and 3 placeholder images show up. The problem is having to remove them from the stage and the array so that when u type in 2 or 1 after having typed 3, that it erases the last search results from the array and the stage. This is my code below which half works. It will place however many images you tell it to, but will not erase them next time u press search.

I have a dropdown box that is used to select a Category. I need the Flash Application to send the value of Category plus the search string in my textbox to my Access query and return results for each product meeting selection criteria. The Flash Application is calling an ASP.NET web service which in turn queries an MS Access database.
To start, how do I define the category ID and search value in my Actionscript 3 code?I've placed a series of 12 or so objects that will be populated with the product description, title and price. I am creating an order form for my flash site. I have never done this before in flash but I have in visual basic. I have a few questions:
1. Is assigning variable names to checkboxes and radio buttons the same as in visual basic? I mean i know that you probably assign them in the properties. ex..say i name a radio button 'radio1', to run a check in my actionscript whether radio1 was checked or not would it be something like if(radio1){}
2. After the person fills out the form I would like to have the results of the order sent to a pre-specified email adress in a certain format. What would be a good way to do this?
