Jan 27, 2011The following is my codes. This is still work in progress; so, you will see some functions with empty contents. Plus, this is my first Flex application; please bear with me. This is a quiz application that gets the questions and answers to each questions from a ColdFusion web service. There are three types of questions, True or False, Multiple Choice with single selection, and Multiple Choice with multiple selections. So, based upon the question type, the application would dynamically generate the appropriate amount of radio buttons or check boxes for the users to select. I got these working. The problem that I am having is, I am not sure how to check what the users have actually selected. In some other forums and posts on other web site, it said that I can use event.currentTarget.selectedValue to get the user selection. But when I actually do it, I got a run-time error saying, "Property selectedValue not found on mx.controls.FormItem and there is no default value." My question is, what do I need to do to capture the user selections?

Flex :: Actionscript - Authorization Header Is Not Send For The Subsequent Request From Flex Application
Jun 15, 2011I am trying to access html files protected by basic authentication. Below is the code to do that but I still get the authentication dialog. I checked the fiddler and found that for the first request authorization header is present but for the subsequent requests which is requested to load the .js, css & images the authorization header is not added. This is the reason I am getting the auth dialog.
Is there a way to add authorization header to the subsequent requests as well?

Mar 22, 2010I'm trying to assemble a header object for an api request. One of the headers is 'Content-Type'. The hyphen is causing a compile error. Flex is giving me:
1050 - Cannot assign to a non-reference value.
I find it spiteful that they enjoy the use of a hyphen in the error message while I hang my head and come here for answers.

As You can see, my label for this header is "06", but the column header is divided and it keeps the place for sort arrow.
How can I change this? I would like my column header to contain only my label.

With a regular DataGrid you can use a property called "headerStyleName" to set the color of the header text. According to the documentation this style is applicable to AdvancedDataGrid as well.Url..Here is a sample app that will show you what I'm talking about.
