I am trying to add evenListeners to movieClips that are created by a method in one of my Classes. Creating an instance of my class from the main timeline and then adding that instance to the stage.:

View 2 Repliesrecently, I research for the collection framework, and find LinkedSet(AS3Commons collection framework,it is a good opensource framework) written in ActionScript, but it can't use as dataProvider in ComboBox or DataGrid, because only implements ICollectionView can use as dataProvider. So I want to try if a class implements ICollectionView can work or not. I know Flex has build-in class implements ICollectionView, but I only want to define a class not use build-in class. The class as simple as possible.(can work is enough)

I am loading the data externally from xml and displaying in a datagrid. I have 2 buttons addRow and deleteRow. My datagrid headertext names are "name" "age" "rollno" "image", where image also will be loading externally thru an xml file. now when i am pressing the deleteRow button, whole row is getting deleted but an image icon is still appearing under "image" headertext. It was not an actual image but a blank image icon kind of thing is appearing, how to remove the icon. i want my whole row to be deleted. but its not happening.

I am trying to have a method of this class dispatch an event that can be "heard" by the module and handled. I have a Datagrid with an ItemRenderer assigned to a column which is a Currency column(String). The renderer is mean to display the Flag of the currency eg; for USD it should display a USD flag image etc. At the moment the column is appearing Blank without an image. I have the following renderer (which extends UIComponent). I am dynamically loading the images in the commitProperties() method. At the moment I have hard-coded it to the USD image to get it to work

I have a flex 3 application that creates an Image from a canvas which the user draws on. I use the ImageSnapshot class to create the image

View 1 RepliesThe project I'm working on requires older libraries that extend mx components (such as TitleWindow and TabNavigator), I can't use what I know about Spark skinning directly. However, since the project is being programmed using the default Spark theme (with my modifications on top) rather than the Halo theme, I apparently don't have access to the styles I need (namely backgroundImage and contentBackgroundImage which apparently require Halo to be active). Simply setting Halo to be the theme will break other things, not the least of which my own theme.
Plans are in the works to replace the older libraries or at least patch them better to Flex 4, but as of right now, I need a way to style/skin these components without modifying them directly. It would be ridiculous to be unable to add a background image to a TitleWindow's content area! I've searched the internet high and low all day and tried countless variations of styles, skins, selectors, and combinations thereof with no luck. How to add a background image to the content of a mx TitleWindow while using the Flex 4.1 sdk?!

I'm trying to create a MXML component based on the spark Panel and I would like to add an image on the right end of the title bar, so that the panel will have a text on the title bar and a small image at the right end. I'm using a skin to define the colors, background fill etc. But how do I add this image at the right end of the title bar?I would like to make that image cutomizable so that when the component is inserted, either the default image is used or a new image can be provided.

For some reason, if you add an image to htmlText, like the following:
myText.htmlText = "<img src='"+dataProvider.bodyImage.getUrl('original')+"' align='left' />" + dataProvider.bodyText;
The image will be successfully added to the htmlText, but it seems to measure the sizes completely wrong. At times, the actual text (dataProvider.bodyText) will have part 'hidden' under the image. At other times, there are anywhere from 1 to 4 lines cut off at the bottom. However, if you select the text and drag your mouse down, you can see the bottom lines. It appears the text is all there, but the mx:Text component is not including the image in the textHeight, so it doesnt resize the componenet to the correct size.
I'm creating receives xml from the asp server its on.Because of this, there isn't an xml file that I can open and add to in the places I need carriage returns.To compensate for this, I've been using the split and join method.[code]Essentially I'm looking for certain nodes in the xml and adding a carriage return to the beginning of it.I had to add the extra quotes around the otherwise it doesn't work.The problem with this is, the carriage return works but it leaves the single quotes in the text.I tried adding another split join method that looks for the single quotes left and replaces them with nothing.The problem with this is, it deletes all the single quotes from the contractions.
