Is there a way to directly print using alive pdf (by passing the step where it saves the datagrid in pdf). Right now I am using Alive Pdf for generating PDF from datagrid and its doing a great job. Since flex printing by itself sucks I was wondering if I could directly print using Alive PDF?

View 1 RepliesIm trying to create a pdf in high resolution in 300dpi with pdf alive for flex, i used this code: var image:ImageSnapshot = ImageSnapshot.captureImage(page[i], 300, new JPEGEncoder()); but i create the pages with a loop for(), and this makes that my web aplication crashed, beacause it spend a lot of time to create the PDF. Exist some way to create this process in the background but dont want the .swf to freeze while the number crunching happens, or another way to create pdf in high resolution(300dpi) with flex.

As indicated in the code comment, the loader variable should fall out of scope after the URLLoaderExample constructor. However... it still seems to be kept alive (not garbage collected) somewhere since the onComplete listener/handler is able to receive it cleanly. Where is the magic/hidden/global reference to loader that keeps it alive so that it can complete it's load operation, and then be handed to the onComplete listener/callback? Can this reference be seen somewhere?
To help with context... as a similar example, I know that the loader instance will have the onComplete listener registered. I also know I need to be careful to use removeEventListener at all times (?) to avoid potential memory leaks resulting from stranded listeners. What concerns me is that I don't understand where the magic loader reference is and whether (or when) I need to clean that up.

But for bmp file loader class doesn't work.

View 3 RepliesI am trying to make a print button that will print the contents of a mc...this mc basically holds a dynamically drawn floorplan which can be zoomed and panned...I want to be able to print the contents of the mc, and only what is viewable in the mc at the time of the print...so if you are zoomed in, all that prints are the actual objects visibly seen in the mc...I think it may be with the print command using bmovie but I have no idea how to assign a #b lable to the frame.

I am a novice to flex and I am trying to develop an application for uploading multiple image file along with progressbar for each upload. The datagrid holds the name of the file and the progressbar for each file when we select and add a file. When there is progress in file upload, it should be reflected in the progressbar as well. I have used filerefencelist to hold the collection of files and when i try to upload files it generates error "Null object"

View 2 RepliesI have a list of radio buttons, which I want to be able to both set the value of programmatically and for the user to set the value of manually.I have a small list of data items which I want to display as options in a list of radio buttons. The objects are stored in a model object, as is the currently selected item. The currently selected item is bound to the radiobutton group. The radio buttons are generated using a spark list.
I am having a problem setting the list programatically - whenever I set the current value on the radiobutton group to the first value in the list, all of the radio buttons are cleared, where the first one should be selected. I when checking in the debugger, I found the likely reason - there are two radiobuttons in the group that point to the same value, one of which isn't showing. My best guess is that the list control has created an extra item renderer which it is holding on to in case it needs to scroll the list.
Is there a way to create radioButtons based on an ArrayCollection without using a list? Failing that, is it possible to prevent the list from generating the extra item?

I tried to make a Button from the fl.controls but it said Button nolonger exists and I need to use SimpleButton, and that it didn't recognize the package I was refering to, fl.controls. I tried again with the Colorpicker since I thought part of the problem might have been the button, and I thought I had referenced fl.controls incorrectly since I tried to use fl.* the first time, similar to using flash.display.* and flash.events.* It had the same problem, though, and now I'm wondering if it's even possible to use the flex controls directly. I can't imagine why, though; they're a part of the FlashPlayer runtime, so if I'm calling them from Flash or Flex it shouldn't matter, right?
View 4 RepliesInstead of populating the BitmapData class from an IMAGE.I would like to (within Actionscript) GENERATE some new BitmapData by capturing the Bitmap representing say, a TextArea component on the stage.In other words, sort of take a "screen capture" or "screenshot" of one of the components, and convert that into an image. Am I silly to even wonder if such a thing is feasible? Can an Air/Flex app "look at itself" in this way? Can it turn a datagrid or a canvas or a textinput into the corresponding image AS IF via screen capture?

I am creating the movieclips of each page by adding the dynamic data in to it and store in an array.
